Agreed. He actually picked up Nashors and that solo kill on Gnar was pretty clean. Sure it may not be Faker level mechanics, but Ult -> auto -> Q -> auto -> lands E -> auto -> Q -> auto -> Q -> auto shows that he does have decent mechanics. He managed to weave an auto per spell he landed, which gave him the kill.

Damn his irelia mechanics are getting clean. If he keeps improving at the champ he'll actually make this work. It's bad against a team full of tanks but AP irelia has quite the team fight burst.
the anti-burst on W is pretty unfair in the right situations, even ignores tower shot damage (at high AP) which was what made people hate the old akali so much.
zed ults you, you hold W, he hits a triple shuriken and 100% of his damage, it literally deals zero since it's all physical.
fun fact: baus intentionally picks his AP irelia and other schizo picks with 44% winrate to lose games in order to stay in master, so queue times won't be 10 minutes on stream

It's nice to see you improving. I remember you got a lot of hate for AP irelia in the past but I think at the time it wasn't so much that the build is bad but rather that you didn't have a very good sense of your champion's limits and mechanics. Your play looks pretty smooth now.

Day 421 of asking baus to play AP Rengar. It's the perfect champ for him. Quickest tower taking in the game. Insane wave clear. Insane proxying. He one-shots people which baus loves (Quinn). He plays from brush too which baus also loves. It's the perfect fit no matter how you look at it.
The thing is, Irelia already shits on all ranged matchups. The champion already is able to build Blade of the Ruined King and is therefore S tier broken with like 78% winning matchups, but even if blade wasn't a thing just her kit makes her a ranged champ counter in the same way Blade makes her a tank counter.
So, for those watching this and thinking AP Irelia looks fun, you can do this on AD as well while also being more durable and having lower cooldowns and being more mobile.
as much as i like baus, watching this champ dealing 600 damage on her Q (not counting lichbane proc) while building full AP is just pure degenerate... by no means this would be the meta build on her or anything, but the fact that the champ can function well on a potato and 2 copper wires speaks volumes on my hatred toward newer designs in this game.

The fact it works is not because it's a viable build, it's proof Irelia is too strong no matter what you build
I'd argue against that. Ap irelia is viable because riot put three super high ap ratios on her W, E and R skills. If you look at them they are actually busted scaling for mages. Interestingly the W nuke scaled with 120% AP but does physical damage, E is 70% AP aoe and R is huge team wide two time nuke if enemy walk through it again.
AD irelia is stronger at dueling and winning lane simply due to on hit items like botrk and spellblade items like triforce, which synergies super well with her steroid auto attack speed, range and healing from passive. Her Q dashes also cements her role as a sticky auto champion. She just ramps up to have too much dps and wins the 1v1s.
If you see AD irelia in team fights, sometimes she gets peeled off from diving the back line and dies. She's a much stronger duelist or 1v2 champ than team fighter, similar to fiora. Baus argues that AP irelia has much better late team fighting potential and honestly have a point, since its generally easy to get ult and W nuke off, dealing massive burst to enemy team without immediately dying.
Baus has good theory on AP irelia, he just have to make it work in more games. It's very situational and loses too hard to toplane bruisers and tanks to work all the time.

which is like 90% of games. Its like most midlaners and ADCs are squishy. And then you have many supports that are squishy and then a few junglers and toplaners, which are AP or are weak at base stats.@@satanm8c40
