Hi Dmitry, can you please make a video on how to add network devices in the frontend (active discovery) like you mentioned at the end of your video. Thanks!
Hi, thanks for a great video. One question, for example I have a host example.com which already passed auto registration, and someday it become unused or become unreachable. So does delete of it manual procedure or Iit automatic? Thanks beforehand
Hey Dmitry (hopefully you see this), I am having some trouble setting up Auto Discovery and Registration in an Amazon EC2 environment, I was wondering if you could help. I have 3 ec2 instances set up like so | (1) Zabbix Server |
Great video Thanks. Can tell me How to do Auto Registration for network devises using SNMP protocol. Can you create a video on that or share with me any Doc.
Brilliant brilliant Dmitri , really enjoyed your tutorial , thanks again for taking the time , very much appreciated will dig in , and try and replicate at home have a great one and keep up the good work :-) , stay cool
It's great video, tks a lot that I can learn the new function of Zabbix helping to save so much time to add all servers from Front-End. I just have a question about the Metadata Item which you choose "release" for Linux, how about windows? Thanks so much
Hey is it possible to filter by subnet? Or just an IP or an IP segment? Kinda dont know how to implement it to the agent and proxy. Setup: Zabbix Server (--->)Proxy (Passive) (
Hi, Thank you for your video, just a quick question: In your example you have used /ServerActive which are active checks (Agent-->Server) and require 10051/TCP. If this is true why on the Zabbix front end there is 10050 port displayed for this host?
Hi Dmitry, Thanks for the video. I was wondering instead of a UserParamater, can we add straight to HostMetadata. In the documentation above this line it says: If not defined, value will be acquired from HostMetadataItem. so If we define it as "HostMetadata=system.uname " it should work. But it doesn't work. However if I define "HostMetadataItem=system.uname", it works. I am confused what does the front end look at , is it HostMetadata or HostMetadataItem?
Good video, just started using zabbix my self by any chance do you have one for how to install and configure a zabbix proxy? To be honest i tried yesterday with my little knowledge, the host shows green but on the dashboard it says the zabbix lost connection to the agent, maybe am missing something some where.
Is there any way to setup an auto registration rule to register the client interfaces with DNS by default? I use Zabbix for manage thousands of Win10 clients but I can only use auto registration with IP instead of DNS named interface. I tried to search about but I cant find any useful information. Thanks for useful videos, good work, keep it up :)
And also I remember another one situation. If I install zabbix-agent on FreeNas (FreeBSD) using pkg install zabbix-agent (they are don't have plugin), agent just gone (vanished) after reboot :-(
And small tip to you. Bash have shortcut for recursive search (Ctrl-R). So next time when you need to reopen config after deleting *.swp you just need Ctrl+R vi Enter (search last command who have "vi")
Hello, i can't run zabbix_get in my server: -bash: zabbix_get: the command was not found Is this another binary that I must install? searching i thing is included in default installation :s centos7 installation: rpm -Uvh repo.zabbix.com/zabbix/3.4/rhel/7/x86_64/zabbix-release-3.4-2.el7.noarch.rpm thanks for tutorial another things is working fine :D

thanks a lot for this video. It was very clear and pertinent for my needs. it changes the way i am using zabbix in a much better way! thanks
@Dmitry Lambert Zabbix status was showing in red colour when I tried like this. I don't need passive checks. What can I do here?

Thanks!
I will keep this in mind. Thank you

thanks for this, works like a charm just a few tweaks for unbuntu distro and the rules but the principles worked

Server=Listening port of the Agent (10050)
ServerActive=Listening port of the Server (10051)
hello, This is great videos. I was wondering, can I use it for snmp devices such as routers nor switches? As far as I know their were passive. Thanks
Active agent registration is only for zabbix agents. For network devices you should choose network discovery.
Sir, please explain how to monitor logs using zabbix active checks.

You can't use items as HostMetaData. It is simple string, not the key.

Great, simple and easy. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for feedback

Great video! Thanks for the help! :)
Great video! Thanks for it.
Can we use TSL like psk with autoregistration?
You can, starting from 4.4, but that's a global setting. So you won't be able to use part of your agents without TLS
@@zabbixtraining thank you, found global setting in andmin section and it works like a charm :)
Good Stuff!
Thank you!!

gooooooooooooooooooood
