I’ve homeschooled my kids for the past 9-10 years. We use free online faith based curriculum, Easy Peasy All In One Homeschool. Anyone can use the curriculum, even if they are not Christians. They have a yearly curriculum for pre-k through the 12th grade, and 180 days of lessons for each grade.
@Sarah-x2q Easy Peasy All-In-One Homeschool is Christian based. It was started by a missionary couple who wanted to be able to homeschool their kids when they were overseas. But its Bible class for kids is optional, and if there are any lessons that a non-believing parent doesn’t want their child to do during the 180 days of planned out lessons they can skip that lesson and supplement with something else of their choosing.
@amaentgrall6744 for pre-k the lessons for the child would probably be less than an hour. Some parents think that may not be enough but when you are giving a child one on one instruction you can accomplish a lot in a short period of time, And if a parent thinks they want their child to do more learning they can always supplement the planned lessons with curriculum of their choosing.
Both of my older kids also wanted to play instruments so we bought them instruments and they learned how to play them just from watching youtube videos. My oldest son began playing the drums when he was 13, and went on to also teaching himself the electric guitar about a year after. My daughter began teaching herself how to play the acoustic guitar when she was 11, and that same year she began to learn how to play the banjo and the mandolin. Last year she taught herself how to play the bass. TH-cam has been a great resource for them both.
I’m a violinist and began playing in fourth grade through my public school’s music program. It’s been such a meaningful part of my life, and now that we homeschool our boys, I’d love to introduce them to the violin or any other string instrument. Proper training is so important, and I’ll definitely take the time to explore these programs. Thank you so much for sharing this-it’s truly appreciated!
Slightly off topic but your video inspired me to google symphony orchestra near me and I found out that if you are a WIC card holder they have a number of free/discount tickets to some local performances. It’s called the Virginia Commission of Arts Passport Program.
Wow!! Thank you for all that you are sharing on your channel for the highest good of all. We are more powerful together! WE ARE ONE ❤ All My Relations 🙏🏼
Make sure you get on the waiting list on any program and keep checking in. Right now OrchKids is full in Baltimore but there were definitely parents at orientation who had time conflicts whose kids will drop out. The girls didn’t get their first choice (strings) but I heard a few strong parents saying they had time conflicts so I asked the directors if the girls could change instruments if they drop out.She said yes just keep reminding her. 😂A closed mouth doesn’t get fed!
Thank you. I’ve been trying to get in for years, but I only sent the application and never spoke to anyone in person. No one ever responded to my application, so I’m going to get in touch with people in person to join the waiting list.
VIRTUAL HUG🤗! I have a virtual homeschool where I help other families alongside homeschooling my own children, and I have been looking for various programs and resources for my children and students. THANK YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION!
This video was awesome! It really got me excited about homeschooling for the first year. Thank you. Please continue to make more content similar to this.
Idk if it's common, but our library does book sales to raise money for special projects. However, at the end of the sale they usually have books free or super duper cheap, like a dollar for a shopping bag of books
Wow I didn’t think about that. Our library is having a book sale this weekend, idk if they do a super sale at the end but it would be worth it to check it out.
Love this! I knew of the Dolly Parton program my son just outgrew it. My state has a buy nothing app, not sure if that's state to state or just through Google Play. Do you know if any teacher training courses to help me teach lessons for free? The few I've come across cost money and I'm not sure if they're actually worth it. Thanks for the reminder of persistence and great content.
What should I Google to look up free music lessons? Was it to search "symphony orchestra," and when you find one, what should you ask "scholarship programs"?😅 Please help share more info. 🙏👍
Yes, look for your city’s symphony orchestra, colleges or conservatory of music. Then search their website or email/call them qnd ask if they have any free programs or scholarships!
Hello Akeeba! Will you be having any sales on your big kid reading program in the near future? I missed the summer sale and am looking forward to buying it to help increase my 6&7 year olds reading. Thank you so much!

@n.hampton8159 It's the Kim Noltemy Young Musicians Program. The fall program started a few weeks ago, but I believe registration is still open!
