Its so cool to still see you traveling after all these years! I have been watching since almost the start and can say your channel has gotten me through some really hard times. Your channel showed me a whole new wold in my own country. More recently gave me the ability to enjoy the outside during the pandemic. Thank you so much !

Having a monitor displaying drinks on a fridge door is pretty dystopian. You'd think that upgrade in tech would atleast show you when the fridge is empty but it's just..a screen. Wild time to be alive
The virtual screens at Walgreens have cameras in them and are tracking what you look at, which doors you open, etc. So they’re gathering data, and they can display more targeted ads.
I'm not shocked that a local has never visited "the Bean". I grew up in a suburb of Seattle and have never gone up in the Space Needle. That's the kind of thing that tourist do.
He grew up in Valparaiso IN, I definitely wouldn't call that local.

Once you reach the west coast this trip, you should really head up north to the Redwood National Parks. They have the largest trees in the world! Some of them are so massive you can drive your car right through the center. Plus there are tons of other things to see and film up there. It'd definitely be worth your time.
He has been to all 48 continental states, just have to search for the videos! 😊

I held back tears all day yesterday after learning about Scott Hall's passing. I grew up watching him in WWF with my dad and now that he has been called to paradise it's like my childhood has been chipped away more.

Did you know, the bean was designed by a very hated artist within the art world? His name is Anish Kapoor, and he created Vantablack, or has the rights to be the only one allowed to use Vantablack to the point that Stuart Semple created his own black pigment titled Black 2.0 and the only stipulation on being able to purchase it, or use it, is that by buying it, you are saying you are indeed not Anish Kapoor. He ended up getting his hands on it anyways, so that Stuart Semple made Black 3.0 which is even darker. He’s also made the worlds pinkest pink, the worlds most reflective pigment, and a few other pigments.
I've never been to the US, but watching your videos have really been so insightful and interesting really. I'm from the UK and never had a chance to go there either but always wanted to do a huge road trip, and all these videos are amazing to watch from that point of view. Thank you so much for everything you do on the channel.

Hey it's the silver Bean. I went there about almost 10 years ago to visit a former friend and he took me out there it was pretty cool actually like the wall of clear bricks with the waterfall on it

When you come to Oklahoma, I would suggest stopping in El Reno and trying a famous Onion Burger and Coney from Robert's or Johnnie's. They are famous staples here

I helped build millennium park as a carpenter and was inside "the bean" before the shell went on. It was a maze of steel that looked like the three stooges built. The steel above the stage had to be built 2 or 3 times cause the layout was so intricate and the ironworkers had a hell of a time.

It's always been a bucketlist trip for me to travel 66, renting or buying and Old American Land yacht and just cruising along like they did back then, mind you I'd probably need a boat of cargo plane just for the souvenirs alone.
Talking of shaving it might be worth checking if Angel Delgadillo is around his Barbershop, he's an important part of 66s preservation and while he wont be doing the shaving anymore he mght be able to give you a tale or two.
I liked the transition from the city to all the quirky, great stuff on Route 66. Is that classic road trip theme carried all the way through? I’ve road tripped across country several times, but somehow never made it to Route 66.

I’m from the Chicago western suburbs and remember a Jean and Jude’s hotdog stand, one of the best hotdogs ever, but, Portillos is truly the best now

Of course I noticed that even our Host the carpetbagger did not seem to fully research his trip, because it appears that even he did not "get" the pop cultural significance of the gas station named "Wally's" on a road called " Holiday Road" with a station wagon out front. If you did understand the Literal references Mr carpetbagger, you did not make direct reference to the fact that these of course all come from the iconic 1983 National Lampoon film "Vacation" , starring Chevy Chase. The Griswalds of course touring across country in the station wagon, The legendary song " Holiday Road" sung by Lidsay Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac, while they fought their way through their own ineptness to their final destination Wally World.
Scott Hall definitely will be missed.

First of all, great video and I can't wait to see what you find on the road. Second, if I had to guess, the screen on the drink coolers as a replacement for clear glass is to keep drinks colder with less power. A lot of the cold is transferred through the glass and an insulated door with a screen is easier to maintain temp. But that's just a guess, don't take my word for it. Lol

I love Route 66 did the whole route with family as a kid, did a little with hubby recently, I lived in Hawaii as a kid too, my dad was Navy, you should plan a trip to Oahu and see the culture
