Hey, thanks a bunch for your feedback! It really means a lot to me. I'm glad my tutorials are helping you out and providing you with insight and inspiration. Keep watching!
Thank you, I appreciate your steps for finishing hem and lining. Very useful information. But, I liked the original better than the after. It seems disproportionate at shoulders (wide) and hips (too narrow) in relation to the length of the jacket. It's all a matter of personal preference. Thanks for the video.
Super helpful explanation! I have a difficult time finding off the rack sports coats that fit my body proportions. I recently purchased a sports coat I love and that fits in the arms and shoulders but it is too long for my torso. This tutorial will be perfect for guiding me in shortening it. I'll practice on a thrift-store sports coat. While pocket proportions are a consideration, it doesn't matter that in your presentation the pockets are not properly proportioned after hemming (ignore the haters) because I needed a good tutorial on hemming a blazer. Thanks!
I love how you explain things. Do you have any advice for how to shorten the sleeve lengths on blazers? I imagine it's similar to this -- but if buttons are involved, is it just not going to work?
I Ty for the tutorial. But I have watched the part where you tacked down the hem over and over and missed where you grabbed the seams . I also missed the part where you sewed the facing. I keep thinking I’ll catch it but don’t!
@@SewAnastasiais there a “plan B”? its arm-pit up or take off the shoulders. I think its juuust big enough to do a little bit of an adjustment. LeChateau blazer i cant wear…..sigh.
Sure but the inside of this jacket was not finished on the edges so you would want to go in there and finish all the edges so you so not have frayed edges and you would probably want to bias bind some of them. It is more work then sewing it back how you found it. I feel like floating linings work best in skirts, dresses and long jackets.
You are genius! The best tutorial I could find on this. Thank you.
Welcome! 🤗
Excellent tutorial..Your videos are always on point and easy to follow and comprehend. Thanks for the insight, inspiration and advice ❤️❤️❤️

Hi, Yes I think I have a video on that. Let me look...... Here it is! th-cam.com/video/oP_iH1UlFE8/w-d-xo.html
Super useful! Thank you! 🌻🍄
Very welcome 🤗 🥳💖
Ah this is such a helpful tutorial! I've just bought a vintage suit but the 80s style long length is really not for me!
I'm so glad! Happy sewing.
Awesome:)

Where did you purchase the iron?
Perfect…now let’s fix the arm-pits that are too low. 😊
Ahhhh now that’s tricky unless you want to take in the sides & sometimes you can’t fix that unless you add extra fabric there.

What type of steamer do you have!?

Could you have left the lining loose? Rather than stitching the lining and the finish fabric together?
Could have but in mho it wouldn’t look good or function well.

@@SewAnastasia thanks for the info!
Thanks for this. Now to attack my jacket
You got this!
Very nice, but you shouldnt shorten on a line, its too obvious if you dont get it straight, itmuch better about an inch below in just a plain section
@@mariedyde448 ok thank you for watching.
This is great but you didn't replicate the rounded corners in the front, now they're straight..
Yeah I didn't want to. You can shape it however you want though.
What happened to the front curves? Absolutely beautiful jacket but I have to be honest, I think you shortened it too much, sorry☹️
@@wendynicholss6886 we all have different styles!
You shouldn't shortened that much, because now the pockets are really close to the bottom and it doesn't look good.
No sorry that's wrong way ,lot of time consuming for something that it takes just 10 min to do.
Also you didn't make the round edges again.
@@dorandogrande983 There’s more than 1 way to do something. Think outside the box. 📦
lol it doesn’t look professionally done.
I’d love to see yours
It looks incredible, you're just jealous
@@RolandClarke-oq7wu you sound like an immature 2 year old. Lol
Just look at the before and after.
