This is my favorite of all the Twilight Zone episodes. Gabriel played Abraham Lincoln in a movie, and every time I saw him in a different role, I recalled Abraham Lincoln/Gabriel, top Angel.
This Twilight Zone rendition of The Angel Gabriel coming down to earth with his trumpet, is Season 1---Episode 32. My name is Gabriel, I play a trumpet & my photo in my high school yearbook is on Pag 132. Mystical, to say the least !!
This is also for me one of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes. I could describe others but don't know the episode titles. Jack Klugman was a big fan of Rod Serling's ability as a writer.
4:05: What is that music called playing in the background? I’ve looked all over the web and the music isn’t credited. One would assume that it was merely production music, but it still would have been nice to know what it was.
He did. Three times. His name was John Anderson, and if you watch a lot of old TV you'll see him often playing stern, religious or downright threatening men. This goateed guardian angel was an unusual role for him, but he did it well.
While not a fan of The Twilight Zone in my youth ( my choice was always The Outer Limits ), I began watching TZ episoids on Netflix. I discovered quite a few that I enjoyed but "A Passage for Trumpet" is my favorite, hands down!
So thought provoking and one that makes me cry. John Anderson's "Gabriel" is one for the ages.
One of the many classic episodes from THE TWILIGHT ZONES and one of my all-time favorites.
Mine too brother

This episode of the Twilight Zone reminds us not to take life for granted because you never know when it will come to an end.
I got chills when I realized a few mondays ago I watched this while drinking. Gabriel's day of the week.
I had a life-and-death struggle as an adolescent and correlate to this piece very moving

Lyn Murray wrote the score for this episode.
3:44- Rod Serling named "Nan" after his daughter Anne.
:) nice name for a horn player
I feel like Gabriel's actor could have made a good Abraham Lincoln

He DID play it in a movie

A GREAT Episode...
I feel like Walking distance should’ve ended this way.
John Anderson's Gabriel ranks one, Christopher Walken's Gabriel the second
Fats Brown That's what I get Jesse Cardiff, the best cue on Randolph St.
A man has the right to dream
Wonderful.
