Just getting my first ever stingray! It’s a black diamond 8-9” I’ll be keeping it in my monster tank with 2 medium size Asian arowanas and 4 small dollars n an American flag tail. It’s a 5ft tank running on top filter and a canister filter. Please let me know if things I Shd care for and common mistakes while keeping stingrays. Its a bare bottom tank

Love the video man. Just one thing, the black diamond blasting sand isn’t actually sharp. It’s just a standard size and it’s cheaper than normal sand, you could use regular pool filter or playing sand for sand blasting. I do have a question, I’ve been reading allot on rays and water quality and they’re recommending a total TDS of about 70tds. What water do you use for water changes? Ro water?
Im buying a matoro stingray tomorrow for 600$ to put into the 1,000 gallon pool pond u inspired me to make. Do you have a careguid specifically for the matoros?
I have been in the freshwater and marine hobby for over 15years. I am thinking about adding a ray to my gar tank. I have a large tank with a large wet dry sump. I am wondering if you use rodi water and if you do what do you add back for trace elements? Also, I am using seachem fluorite substrate. Will that work? This is a planted tank with co2 injection. There is a high turnover rate so o2 sat is fine. Any help would he great. Looking to be as successful as possible. Thanks in advance.

You could keep 4-6 adults would be good. As far as cichlids go it’s gonna be hit and miss with that combo. I’ve seen it work and I’ve seen it fail. Just depends on the temperament of both the rays and cichlids 👍 hope this helps!

Yes but still to small for an adult stingray, water volume is key as they put off huge amounts of ammonia. With a adult ray in a tank like that you'd get random ammonia spikes that could kill your fish.

Well you want about 1discus per 10 gallons or about that if it's five gallons of it's ok maybe ten but so it's definitely to small for ten and a rat

Only around 2-3 inches, they are new. I could put them in another 800 gallon community tank.
Yeah stingrays will make a snack out of 2-3” loaches.

You could as a pup for a while, but it'd eventually outgrow it and you'd need to upgrade bigger.
