My biggest complaint for this campaign right now is that, even though it has been massively improved you still can't request military access because you're a horde building.
Wish they'd change that :(
Hey dude, I appreciate you making these videos. I've played this game on-and-off and it's always felt intimidating, but seeing this short videos makes me feel like it's more approachable.
Yeah 2 was left in such a dire state, shame it took the next game to fix issues like this, personally I'll wait for Khuresh to be added before trying out Nakai. As for other lords, speaking of left behind in 2, Oxyotl is probably my favourite lord and would love to hear how he is now.
Oxyyotl was my first Immortal Empire campaign and it's my absolute favorite

@@bluemilkalienmonster522 CA is a business. They follow through when they think they’ll make money from following through. If there’s continued interest in the game (and continued purchases), they’ll keep making content for it. If there isn’t, they won’t.

So glad I saw this. I avoided Nakai in Immortal Empires after one campaign raging across Norsca and Naggarond when he came out. It was fun since I like Lizardmen but never returned to it. Then I avoided him in 3 since I didn't want the same headache nor did I want to be stuck in the corner of the map. But now I'm excited to try him out and see the changes. Thanks Legend, keen and informative as always.
It's very good to hear that Nakai has been vastly improved didnt think I'd play him again after I did in warhammer 2, think I'll give him go around again.
Hey Legend, I love the new short content your doing. I also really liked the 1 turn campaign vid you did, if you could do more challenge videos like that but around 30 mins in length that would be ideal IMO.

Thing for him is ...He get to high tier really really fast.... something like tier5 on turn 30-35 ,that make his faction get access to high tier Dino before anyone around him can prepare to deal with them(expect dark elf of Lokhir but even then he can't kill all that big Dino and even he manage to focus fire one or two or more..it will just take Nakia a turn or 2 or 3 turn to get everything back).Horde upkeep reduction also make main army dirt cheap even you stack all high tier Dino
And with full tech,Vassel give him a lot of money to feed 3 doomstack in like turn 50

The vassal issue is definitely fixed for Nakai....now if they could just fix diplomacy more...ESPECIALLY for the elector counts. I just quit a Reikland campaign because I was so furious at what happened. I had a defensive alliance with Ungrim, and despite him and Stirland having an extremely good relationship, Stirland decided to attack Ungrim because fuck the player. I was so livid I just didn't bother continuing. I shouldn't have to choose from a reliability tanking or my imperial authority tanking because Stirland is a dick.
Thats a game feature bud. Confed/conquer if you dont want this to happen. Why you even playing the empire?
I'm surprised the Vamps haven't wiped out Stirland for you for that to happen. They usually take the brunt of their onslaught.
@@kielweiss3606 For sure, I usually am pretty low on authority because of it. I'm usually just barely able to keep them alive while we push back the vamps. In this particular game, we were hitting Vlad from both sides (with Ungrim) and then Stirland dicked me over.
@@ATF- You understand that tanks your authority, right? If you just confed everyone you're far in the negatives, which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place.

Most overrated race. Added purely to appeal to the Chinese audience as a cash grab. Game would be better off without them in it altogether.
@A non sure, now let's add a Nippon DLC to appeal to the Japense audience or ya know all the westerners who love Samurai, while we wait for Shogun 3.

one main reason why this is the most fun campaign to me is that right on turn 1 you can sail anywhere you want coz youre never attached to a single settlement, you are your own settlement and you can always just capture a new city elsewhere. I sailed straight to the Kraken guy immediately and started my campaign there

Despite the warnings of my friends I chose Nakai as my very first Warhammer campaign and absolutely loved it! I think a lot of people are tainted by his Warhammer 2 campaign but in 3 he's a machine!

that is realy surprising, always liked him but hated the campaign. Will start one right now
I don't mind the campaign, its just the horde mechanics just feel like something from a bygone era. The chaos factions got transferred into this new dark fortress mechanic that is really cool and a lot of fun to basically collect all the norscans like pokemon and create this giant swarm. It would be cool if Nakai got even just a straight up re-skin of that but for lizards. Its just the horde stuff really feels outdated and it feels like he's been left behind, like a lot of lords and factions that were from before CA really nailed down how to make fun and unique campaigns.
Love the new format. Ogre coverage would be nice!

This campaign in warhammer 3 was a real power fantasy for me.
I’m usually a very cowardly type of player, retreating and ambushing as soon as I’m facing even odds, but I haven’t had to use those skaven tactics even once in my whole campaign.
Nakai and his hordes were like an unstoppable force, I could even auto-resolve most of the battles with almost no casualties. I still cannot fathom how overly OP I became by the end game, stopping only because by the time, a single vassal could only give you a capped amount of money, putting a hard limit on the amount of armies I was able to fill (hopefully, this cap has been removed now).
Seriously, I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so powerful with any faction, let alone a horde faction !
If I can do it, you can too !
Happy to see my boy Nakai having his issues fixed. This big fuckin crocodile was my favorite from the get go.

Would like to know what you think about Tlakva. I loved to play all air with them way back in Warhammer 2.
If you play it smart and join war against the hostile faction before they declare war on you, the vessel is actually can’t be killed and ai can’t do shit.
Another thing its the one turn entire army you can build, this is not apply to nakai itselft, its apply to the other lords, ty to the new tech tree. An entire army of stegadons on one turn bia global recruitment for armies, and thats apply to most of lizardmen units, the rest (ancient stegadons and stegadons with gods engine) will take two turns and just the terrosaurs will take 3 turns.
The only thing that I really dont like about him its that you have a max amount of armies you can get.

His first battle is super difficult compared to most, hard to not have significant caualties that kills your momentum
Yea i find that too, im sure theres some cheese you can do but "as intended" it can actually be a tough battle.
Definitely not beginner friendly IMO.

this guy was absolute nightmare for my Cathai first try....his ability to raise instantly setlement with not a chance to autosolve win and his agressive charge acros map with unstopable stack agaist my AI allies took me like 30 turns of pure agony fighting for so many minor setlements battles....i love field battles, i love city battles, but minor setlement battles are just so anoyingto me...and this guy able to make every setlement withing capture like that, just take, full army full defense poping up instantly....ye probably the worst enemy in matter of anoying which I ever meet:D

In my experience in the IG campaign Nakai just sat parked at Eataine for the longest time with a friendly attitude towards us Druchii. It wasn't until we started to invade did he then get swatted away by Tyrion.

next patch this will definitely be my first campaign but i havent played the game in months because its just gotten so stale
Could you cover Ghorst next? When I play I tend to steamroll Kugath but the lack of ranged units gives me some trouble with the Skaven Slinger Swarms.
That's where summoned units come into there own. Summon them on top of the slingers to tie them up whilst you beat down the rest of the army then mop them up at the end. Hope this helps.
Didn't they also remove the cap on much money you gain from vassals in some recent patch? Thought they did so, which also benefits Nakai a lot.

It’s the lizards, all their campaigns are very good and very easy. They are an overpowered faction to be honest

Hey Legend! I’m interested to see Snikch’s campaign and how he fairs in what seems like a pretty dense area faction wise.
I'm just playing it at the moment- at around turn 60.
It was a very fun early campaign - quite challenging with a lot of different opponents who hate you. The main problem i find is that the Cathay region is too secluded and once you subdue most of it you're safe and also don't have much incentive to expand. If you get through the mountains of mourne there's nothing.
What I'm going to try and do is confederate the other skaven to try and keep the campaign interesting
Update- still playing it and the vampiric endgame crisis made it interesting. Also sailing to lustria to fight the lizards. Will keep playing to long victory i think!

I know you're Opposed to mods, but have you considered using one to enhance/replace the boring/simplistic Dark Elf mechanics in WH3? I think they're thoroughly unenjoyable in WH3, which is a shame, because they were one of my favorite races in WH2.

In Wh2 I found it was better to not make alliances as Nakai. The threat of Nakai being able to war with anyone without diplomatic repercussions was enough to keep peace.
If Kuresh ever happens , it might get way harder.

How about a Malus review given your recent exploits?
I just abandoned Nakai yesterday to oblivion. Too straight-line campaign with useless vassal, cannot upgrade lord recruitment rank (350 favor for +5lvl on slann, not stackable) and too much "favor" needed to do almost anything a normal LM faction can normally do. Even with all techs for money researched the economy was barebones compared to many other factions on turn 60/70. Seriously a very MEH campaign.
Does anyone know if there’s a way to reassign or reset skill points in this game? I have Karl Franz at rank 50, but I chose too many dumb skill attributes that I don’t need.
A mod re-inserts access to both Kroxigor units and Temple Guards.
