We launch all our bombs nukes included. It may take a few years but being so far away the explosion would have no effect on us. It may have just enough force to slight tilt it’s direction.
@@dimitripapadopoulos5180 lol, you really think nukes would even affect such a massive mass? We're not talking about an asteroid here, but a goddamn planet 17000 x larger than earth.
One thing, and it really bugs me when people say it for some reason. Earth is currently in an ice age, Ice age refers to any period of time where large glaciers of ice are present on Earth’s surface. We are currently in an interglacial period where they have receded. When people way through the Earth into the next Ice age, what they should say is cause the glaciers to advance.
Ok but what if a rogue planet entered the solar system, got slowed down by Saturn and Jupiter, and then ended up staying and circularizing its orbit around the Sun between Earth and Mars?
I noticed the video maker chose this rogue to be a 13-Jupiter planet. That size is the borderline between planet and brown dwarf. Most rogues are going to be a lot smaller than that.
Most rogues aren't going to be that big. Most are going to be under 1 Jupiter mass. And a regular-sized planet won't do much to any orbit unless it makes a close flyby, say closer than 1 million miles or km to one of our planets.
A planet with large size doesn’t means strong gravity though. A planet that size has to be a gas giant... like Jupiter. But such objects can also be puffy planets, planets that can be half in size of sun, but only a few Jupiter masses...
That's 1 way to kill us all... I guess the ice chunks breaking off and going to all oceans wouldn't be much of a problem, but I dunno about giant cruise ships ;)
If that rogue planet enters the solar system, it would break every orbits of the planets inside the solar system therefore sun will eat that rogue planet.
Um... well... If that object is going in the direction of the Sun, it will just melt in the star after impact, that's right, unless one of our "neighbours'" gravity saves it. It would cause both planets' course to drastically change, and that could cause an interplanetary disaster... But those randomly coming things are unlikely to collide with the Sun or the planets. If something wasn't artifically launched in the direction of Earth for example, it has a lot of places to go to, it doesn't necessarily hit the Earth.
