I adore this type of video so much. I'm in the process of reorganising and some of these tricks are actually really helpful. While I do read those type of manuals myself, a lot of the time I struggle to visualise what they are saying, so this is really helpful.
My grandmother's singer broke, but I hung on to its table and now it's my bedside table. (Just an unrelated aside 👀). Great video, Kate, thank you for the ideas! And yes, my nosy self wants to see your room after you're finished with it.
I love your sewing room! My entire apartment is my crafting space. I'm overwhelmed with supplies. Quite happily too I might add! I enjoyed this video 💗
I have to share with my husband, most of the room is the office. I have an old fashion office desk with a cupboard and three large drawers plus a small bookcase at the back. Fabric is stored in bags and boxes. A small space makes one inventive.
Looking forward to see what you will do with that room Kate. This was very inspirational to me, who avoids mending projects, but has plenty of them. I have a chest like basket that has no use other than a catch all. Hmmm. It could hold all my sewing related items that are currently scattered. Now if it would only motivate......
The cupboard that opened and became something entirely different sounds like the Singer cabinet called "A Room of One's Own" from the Singer Sewing Book by Mary Brooks Picken.
I have an Elna 664 Pro. I've had it about 10 years and I've been mostly happy with it. The only major complaint I have is that the rolled hem stitch never has worked quite right on mine (even after taking it in for service), so I typically use a narrow hem stitch for edges instead.
@@TheLongHairedFlapper Thank you so much for the information. I'm currently looking for a new serger, it's going to be a JUKI. I've had a singer 14SH754 since 2006 and it's been a nightmare from the start. I was determined to get the most out of it but eventually spent more on services and repairs than the original cost of the machine (400eu). I was just too stubborn and didn't want to give up on it. It would take me a whole lot of time adjusting the tension on my project fabric (the tension would be way off from the recommended tension in the book) before working on the actual project, then it would change tension midseam.

As the mender in my family, I love the idea of a cute project/mending bag and the baskets! 😍
I would love to see a sewing room tour!

I love sewing-room makeover videos, and sewing-room tours! Hope we're gonna to see yours more often!

Project baskets is a great idea! Mine are currently stashed in various corners/shelves.
Yay for sewing organization tips (and any organization tips)!
I don't like hiding my antique sewing machine and table, either. Mine is in the living room.
These ideas are so wonderful
My dream is to have a dedicated room 🙏🏼

I love these videos. I made the closet core poof for scraps but I dont use it. Thinking of making a braided rug for my bathroom instead.
You look just lovely

If you don't mind answering, which (brand and type) serger do you have and are you happy with it?

I have instructions for making a workbag by recycling an old-floppy straw hat from the attic.
