Same, my finals are coming up next week and then it’s the home stretch till college graduation. I hope you got your grades back and that they looked good!!
Landing on the great sky island for the first time was cathartic, nearly breath taking. After waiting about 6 years between BotW and then FINALLY getting the sequel had me so hyped. Landing on the Great Sky Island was sort of grounding and this music made me feel like I had died peacefully and gone to heaven. Writing this while the memory is still fresh so hopefully years down the road when the memory isn’t as clear that I’ll be able to come back and remember to remember.
I feel like it’s a peaceful melancholy. It’s heavenly and peaceful, but it’s mourning something that’s long past and a time that can never be recovered. It’s a sad feeling. But dear god does it do it well. It definitely sets the tone of the story.
@@mAcroFaze I agree, I always turn off the Limgrave music when I'm there, it sounds like a cheap soap opera. This music on the other hand is gorgeous.. reminds me of some minimalistic modern classical music from Japan in the 60's and 70's.
YO YO WAIT FR?!!! Idk if it’s the music or the scenery but when I’m playing this game I just get random nostalgia and thinking about certain places I went and did as a kid.
So glad someone made this. This music has been haunting me in the best possible way. This game is the closest i've been to playing a beautiful Ghibli movie.
I'm very unhappy at this stage of my life and this ambient brings me some nice and peaceful emotions. Hopefully I come back to this video in 3 years more content and happier. Thank you for the upload.
glad im not the only player of totk and botw who "stops and smells the roses" bc these ambience and music are so tranquil and peaceful, we need more of these in other games!!
Absolutely! It's like a mini escape to tranquility amidst the adventure. Couldn't agree more-we definitely need more of these calming elements in other games! Thanks for sharing the sentiment❤️
Why did they make the great sky island so much better than all of the other ones 😭 made me think all of the other ones were gonna be as good as this one (only like 4 come close) and as big
Idk how Tears of the Kingdom feels nostalgic already. Been playing Zelda ever since OoT came out, it being not only my favorite game ever since but franchise as a whole. Now after playing Tears of the Kingdom im genuinely surprised and excited it's now my new all time favorite alongside BotW :)
Considering that this game has a lot of vibes from Skyward Sword, this ambient track always reminded me of the sealed grounds theme, which is interesting because, in SS its the first time Link touched the ground, where in TOTK its the first time Link touched the sky, essentially.
Love that you choose a location at the water’s edge. Nice to hear the sound of the water gently lapping against the shore and an occasional flush jumping up.
Like you I am taking my time to go through it slowly - enjoying every second. Great to have this to listen to whilst I work until I can return to game play later! Enjoy and thank you.
Taking it slow and savoring the experience has always been my gaming style, which is why I created these videos-to allow everyone to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the game. I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed it!
This has brought so much comfort for me last few days 💛 words to describe the music of great sky islands: lonely, isolated, hopeful, sempiternal and illuminous. Better days for everyone feeling sad or lonely. 💛
I explore slowly too haha! I like taking my time and finding every cool side quest, foraging and cooking, and finding all the cool little hidden stuff the designers put in. It drives my husband crazy, who likes a more smash-and-grab, follow-the-main-plot approach. Cheers to the slow explorers!
That's great to hear! Taking it slow and enjoying the game is a real pleasure. Only by doing so can I immerse myself in the game world. And I must say, Totk is a game that perfectly suits this style of gameplay!
I haven't bought the game yet since I'm using it as a big reward after my finals - next week thursday, I'll be finished and I'll finally get to indulge into this MASTERPIECEEEE
I had rushed through it in my excitement to get going when I first got it. I was thinking "I've been spamming botw, I don't need no tutorial I want to get exploring!" After about 100 hours of TOTK I was ready for a break. During my break I saw a youtube video that mentioned in passing how totk's world traversal is potentially _too_ good compared to botw and you end up exploring the land less. I got a bug to play again a couple days ago and decided to try a no-fast-travel restriction and I've been having a lot of fun exploring at a more thorough and leisurely pace. I worked my way up to the Great Sky Island and used Hero's Path to find out where I hadn't been and just explored for a while. After this, I'm inclined to agree. The way that it has a bit of everything keeps it interesting, and I particularly like the effect from the temple of time bell sounding every now and then.
When I first listened to this, it hit such a nostalgic spot for me and I was absolutely sure I had heard something similar in WoW. I finally remembered what I was thinking of: Wintergrasp. If you have never listened to it, just make yourself a favour and listen to that music! It is a bit more epic/dynamic, not as calm as this one, but it feels so similar to me, so nice and soothing
I was floored by nostalgia when I first heard this.. it felt like autumn settling in after a perfect summer. the music reminds me of minimalistic modern classical music from Japan in the 60's and 70's. sort of a Zen garden feeling. I'll always remember this
Thank you for the video, I absolutely love the Great Sky Island! I love the chime of the bell of time so much, I wish I could isolate the sound and make it a ring tone or alarm
if you guys like this i’d highly recommend the song “Lichen (21)” by Aphex Twin. it really scratches the same itch for me. Very similar ambient chord progression.
When I hear this song it seems to carry a peaceful tone, but also one of question and uncertainty. I like to think from Links point of view from the moment you step out of the cave and see the entire great sky island, Link (as well as you the player) still do not know anything about ancient Hyrule, zonaite-technology, nor what exactly this sky island holds. All Links knows is that he is off on another adventure and every time I hear this even now that I have beaten the game and am up in the sky, I still feel like there is still much to learn about ancient Hyrule And what race or species Rauru’s people are. In other words this song is sort of saying, “just what is all this??” Its like song that is uncertain and questions, but yet peaceful in its questioning.
Your interpretation of this song is spot on! It has a unique atmosphere, blending both curiosity and tranquility, making it memorable. It's definitely the perfect melody to kickstart a journey!
This music video tells a powerful story that resonates with me. The visuals are captivating, and the music intensifies the emotions. It's a masterpiece!😎😎😎
Tomorow is my last exam, and I listen to it while revising while thinking that I will be able to play it unlimited in 24 hours and I find it magnificent
Was waiting till my exams were over to play this last year. Got halfway through the game before the summer finished and I started my final year. Now have just been studying all year and I have to wait until my exams are over again to finally finish the game.
im studying for my finals and im feeling zelda withdrawal. my last exam is on june 30th, pray for me that i can manage bc i havent played since the 5th lol
Am I the only one that finds this music very similar to the GameCube menu music, which in turn, is a slowed version of the Famicom music? From the start It reminded me of that music. Perhaps it is a reference or mere coincidence.
That's an interesting observation! Even though I hadn't heard those music pieces before, I can definitely see why you find them similar. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Listening to this before my final exam and then I can play TOTK all day
Wishing you good luck on your exams!
Hope your final exam went well!

Good luck sir!
First dive after my final exam into zelda totk's Great Sky Island felt so good
I like how the Sky Islands is always in (Sunny) Weather with no rain and cloudy skies except for that one specific Sky Island
I feel the same way too!
And even that one sky island is peaceful

I can totally feel the excitement and emotion in your words. Thanks for sharing this beautiful reflection!
I seriously could spend hours in the ambience of this sky island- so peaceful, heavenly, and so much to truly explore! Love these
Thank you for your kind words! Indeed, the atmosphere here is so comfortable… I don't want to leave this place❤️
It is the perfect place to start the atmosphere, the music, the game is incredible ! 😄
I would experience this place in vr

the sound reminds me so much of the opening hours in limgrave of elden ring. the serene yet serious, almost anxiety-enducing notes are perftect.
That's the impression I got too
@@harbinger9231same!
Kinda! I see where you're coming from, but Elden Ring's Limgrave area music I felt was way more depressing haha! This kinda just seems... Calming :)

Thanks for your comment! Everything in the game is truly beautiful... The new music has amazed me.🥰
That’s such a good way of putting it. Straight up does feel very Ghibli, even moreso than BotW since they went all out with culture and lore
check out Ni no Kuni, has Ghibli's aesthetic. They even made some animated cutscenes for the game

The Legend of Zelda series has some of the best music in the video game industry
I listen to this while painting on a pond surrounded by trees. Absolutely magical ✨
That sounds great!💖
I loved the sound of that mystic clock at 7am and 7pm (the one you hear at 6:50 here). I miss it so much on the low ground
This scene…. The graphics, the music, the water… everything about it is amazingly beautiful and serene. I love my tears of the kingdom sky islands!

In my opinion, this is the greatest place in zelda Totk.
I had rushed through it in my excitement to get going when I first got it. I was thinking "I've been spamming botw, I don't need no tutorial I want to get exploring!"

Glad you enjoy my channel!
The sounds that the constructs make relaxes me so much.. I wish I could find a video of that but this is also so lovely
I’m prob not using the right terminology or whatever, but the lack of a definite tonal center makes this track feel very idk UP IN THE AIR
I get what you mean, the melody does have a light and airy feel to it ☁️
This game beggining is something ELSE, man! ❤
The melodies in these videos are so enchanting. I find myself lost in the music every time I listen. This channel is a true gem!💗
Thanks so much and glad you like it 💖
