I have no doubt in my mind we would've won the championship that year if Cassell wasn't hurt. And to compound it, he was injured most the next year and we almost snuck into the playoffs over the last portion of the season when he came back. To make things more appalling, despite this success, he was traded that offseason for Marko Jaric!!! and thus we let go of Spree understandably. To me, this is the biggest what if for me as a sports fan in my life
Sammy Othman no way.. this laker team was all sorts outta wack and kobe wasn't playing thru shaq like he did in 01 when they sweept everyone.. the NBA is lucky shaq and kobe didn't get along and play together or they would've won from 00-06 easily ... the 1 true year kobe did play thru the diesel in 01 they went 15-1 sweeping prime spurs and kings and blazers
Even at 40 years old and Malone had more assists than Lakers guards and 2 less than a triple double. Shaq 19-19. Too bad Wolves didnt get together for one more time. That was a great team as well. Always good to see Sprewell.
