haha my Mexican dad who was born here, had told me when I was younger to pretend we're from Spain/Euro.... even though our grandfather came here from Mexico and made it soooo hard he became a Republican too. I've heard him say he's Italian, sigh
I love the running joke to throw Colin under the bus whenever a very risky joke is told!
Lol i relate so much to like the first 40 seconds of the video bc my dad is a Mexican immigrant but he is also republican and complains about immigrants🤨 (im like bro that is u and ur family). although at least he doesn't like trump anymore (he only voted for trump in the primary back in 2016 but already by the general election he didn't like trump anymore and voted for the libertarian guy).
“Colin wrote that joke for me” 🤣
Give us MORE! MORE! MORE!
EMIL CRUSHED THIS!!!
"Colin wrote that joke for me" was the funniest part.
I'm gonna say it...I love spicy Greeks!! ❤
EMIL .. I'm so elated to meet you. I hope we see more of you. 🎉🎉🎉
The stigma of anime backpacks...
“We’re spicy Greeks!” ❤😂
i love him already
Hope to see more of him. And hope he gets to tackle racism and challenge Americans to CARE for Arabs who are suffering so much right now.
THIS…Exactly this! ❤ I also hope they bring in Bazzi as a musical guest with his new music he’s been releasing. He also has family ties to Lebanon.
This was awesome and a refreshing addition. I want to hear more from him, and I look forward to his perspective adding to the show.
We've got call out the 'in-fighting' amongst groups that need to have coherence and solidarity to further their best interests. The 'divide and conquer' warfare strategy is real and it's destroying us and giving everything to those who breed the hate. Fuck that! Thank you, Emil! We need you. You rock. Thank you.
can see he is very talented
Now THIS GUY is a great addition to the cast!!
I like this “in your face America joke!” kudos to Emil
Lebanese new member-dope!!!! I like that this is edgey!
Talented young man
Finally a good news guy
An entire standup routine in 3 minutes! Impressive. 😂
Weak
I worked with a Lebanese-American Christian woman back in the 80s who invited me to her parents for Easter. Didn’t ponder it at all-naive to the true bigotry in America back then.
As Lebanese I’m always confused for Italian or Greek even by fellow Lebanese people, it is crazy. Spicy Greeks. I like it. 😂
Best bit of the show
Yes!!! finally! 🇱🇧🇵🇸 funny + the truth hurts is not for the faint of heart. well done Emil, you did it 🎉
Christian Arab to Christian Arab loved it!
I love him. Periodt. 🎉
Material is great, just needs to give it more space for timing. Looking forward to more Emil!
So bold. Knocked it out of the park! Rooting for you, Emil!
Boring
Emil. Brilliant!!!!!
as a orthodox greek myself this man is goated lmao
As a humanist Lebanese (religion is a myth joke) he was on point.
Emil Wakim's bit was pure gold. And his immigrant's version of the American dream was spot on! 🤣
He's very lucky his father came to America (like my grandfather as well). The bombs in Gaza began Oct 8th. The missiles from Hezbollah started a lot earlier.
The genocide by Israel started in 1948. Get educated.
Honestly, Emil the Christian Nationalists scare me plenty! My shoulders relax when I know someone is just normal- not in a cult pledging death to everybody! Glad to have you, you're cool, and so are 10 million other Lebonese! Wishing you peace, prosperity, and a quick resolution to the conflict. Welcome to the show! 🥰🎇
Nice! we need more of this!
I haven't laughed so hard at a weekend update guest this guy is going places
Emil Wakim hit some high spots with those Christian Lebanese observations.
As a Christian Lebanese American that was so on target for me! If I’m talking about my Lebanese heritage and someone goes wonky, I totally say that. It’s sad and not a diss to my fellow Arabs of the Muslim faith but I feel like it helps to ease the white folks into accepting us.
My family used to say they were from Lebanon or Syria, depending on the political climate. They lived near the border, so we don't actually know where we are from. Lebanon is usually a well accepted answer by others, which is interesting.
That’s my habibi right there
Emil seems funny! I hope he gets featured on more weekend updates
Emil has a lot of charisma, especially for a debut at the desk. If he stays around I could see him being an anchor.
