I have some rust repair to do on a old truck bed. I'm just going to pop rivet some scrap sheet metal to fill the holes... A little caulk (seam sealer) and pain to finish it off.

620's are my Eleanor, I've owned 8. From blown headgasket to having kids, it just never worked out. The dream is a 620 with a y 40 out of a presidential. If ever I get another one I'm never letting it go.

Just a reminder, those mini truck carbs have a solenoid that requires power to allow fuel to idle circuit. This is to prevent dieseling when you shut it off. I belive it was the red wire in front of the carb. Consider leaving that one intact. Or not... 😆

They go very well with a Nissan 1.8 CA18DET motor shoved in them , fits easily too. A workmate here in Australia did it, made for very spirited motoring.
a straight 6 out of a z-car fair lady would do the trick and stay bolt in as it would just add two identical cylinders as the four that are in the Datsun 510s and trucks , you could swap pistons and everything would be fine,you'd have to make some room in front for them though.

We bought one too 1975 orange short bed . Traded in a 73 Chevy ¾ton 454 .

Every monday after I get home from work my 3 year old son stands at the gate to the kitchen waiting for me to walk in the back door like I do every day from work. So on Monday's I say to him. Oh Damon guess what on tonight? He jumps up and down and says puddin puddin puddin!! My son is the bomb!!

that motor won the Baja 1000 three times, you can't argue with that,and the fact I've seen them on backup generators in just about every institution, wherever they're needed
Half the engine would be in the front seat, and you would have sit in the bed to shift it, and making a drive shaft would be quite a chore. it would e easer to put a small block v8 in it.
That wouldn't work, but a 2.3 lima turbo guy might be fun in a Datsun!
Since the dually has roof paperwork issues, make a good offroad recovery wrecker. Throw a front axle under it.

I was powerwashing my "Towbalt" this weekend and suddenly felt the need to go get some bibs and start spraying in slo-mo. Luckily for my neighbors I resisted that urge.
Before I even watch this, I done got off my ass, and got all my projects finished. It took me a week to catch up on two weeks worth of puddin. Man what a motto!!

I told “Prodject Time Garage” on TH-cam who was fixing up a 71 Datsun that was before I found your channel & he made me a Motorized Wheelbarrow shirt. Hey man. I enjoy the sheet metal work that most dont like seeing… it helps me to see it don’t. Helps me understand and clarifies how to do it. I can do most of it but sometimes I don’t see it in my head. So it helps to have a reference video kinda… plus it’s like ur early videos too. I am working fast food and trying to get a press and small beed roller. Dimple dies r expensive!!! So maybe some day… or just one or two. I’m fixin to start 4-linking my b2200. So seeing u make ur bag mounts and brackets with ur 4-link and wheel tubs in front just kinda showed me the it don’t matter. Just try and try again if it wrong or bad. Or just fill a gap with filler pieces or weld. I love the channel and can’t wait to see it together and going. I have always thought the uhaul mini would b amazing layin frame. And ur doing it!!! I know it’ll b a show stoppa and panty droppa… I hope mine makes there someday too. Keep having fun man…

Most of those old Datsun carbs have a solenoid that shuts off the idle jet to stop the motor running on when you turn the key off. just needs 12v positive to keep it open. Great Video. Put a big smile on my face.

Redd neck spark rejuvenation trick: Take a propane torch and blast the tip until it gets red hot. About 5 minutes. Burns all the crud off. Had an old lawn mower that would foul its plug every other mowing. Saved buying a lot of plugs until I could replace the carb.
Had a '72 Datsun pu L16. What a reliable vehicle. My 1st car ever was a '72 510 wagon that never let me down. Bought a '72 610 sedan and drove it 4ever. Datsun L series engines were bulletproof.

Me and that Datsun are the same age. We're both looking pretty good, but running a little rough. You're kicking butt. Every Puddin video is a great video!
Valve sticking issues got worse as the gas worsened. Valve springs are designed to close the valve ( when it's properly lubricated through the knurlings of the valve guides) Personally I use carb cleaner on engines that have been sitting. Engines typically run on the left over varnish from the last time it ran. Then I add sta-bil to the first 5gal of gas for added lubrication. 👍👍 Thanks for sharing Puddin
