Grasso couldn't do anything because all of her success relied on being able to out-box Valentina. Shevchenko simply stopped allowing her to dictate the pace of the fight, and she completely changed her timing and had Grasso unable to read what she was going to do. There was more movement, faster combinations, and better timing from Shevchenko whilst Grasso looked exactly the same because she's one-dimensional. Saying Shevchenko just held her down and landed takedowns just isn't acknowledging what actually happened - Shevchenko took away Grasso's boxing by being more mobile and unpredictable and the rest of her success just flowed as a result of it.

They exchanged striking on the feet for several minutes and The Times they were engaging in the striking. Valentina was picking her apart In the moments they had on the feet In the moments they had on the feet. Valentina was Controlling the distance and pace On the feet picking Alexa apart and Taking her down over and over holding her down, controlling her dominating the grappling, as well as the striking. Complete performance from valentina

One reason why Alexa froze even on the feet was because she felt Val's punches this time. Val ,surprsingy, inflicted damages on Alexas face in the stand up. Biggest factor to that was her TUF coaching. It forced her to travel less and just be active, train, grind, which boosted her power and cardio. One more thing, Val made adjustments. In the 1st and 2nd fight, she would only throw 2,3 or 4 punches but this time around she was more aggressive and threw 4,5,6 combos. Alexa couldnt answer. She felt Val's power this time. But she still young and will evolve. She will soon rule the division 3 years from now

She out struck, out grappled, out wrestled, and had 8x more takedowns than Grasso. Grasso had no answers. But I get what you mean. I wish Valentina coulda got off some good ground n pound at least but Alexa is pretty strong and was holding on for dear life. I think overall Valentina played it Uber safe because she lost her title due to a mistake and gave grasso the draw due to mistakes. Grasso couldn’t get past Valentina and had 2 chances on UFC noche nights. Movin on to fiorot.

This is how I thought the second fight was gonna go, Valentina controlled the fight and shut Grasso’s offence down. Grasso is still one of the top 125’ers, she showed great IQ in the first fight and had a close second fight with her, but she’s never really shown good TDD and Valentina exploited it for 5 rounds.

She beat her ass EVERYWHERE. Started landing clean as soon as the fight began before the TD's. Grasso didn't land NOTHING.

The fact that Shevchenko went back to basics frustrated Grasso in there.

Valentina came recharged, unstoppable and ready to win. She was no longer with a
fractured finger as in the so-called draw fight.
