  • Jefferson Lee and Jay Dyer have a discussion on traditionalism, Enlightenment liberalism, the philosophy of the state and its relation to economics, Orthodoxy theology and worldviews, atheistic arguments and apologetics, the moon landing and much more! Definitely a great conversation.

For what it is worth, I am from a NASA family. My parents both worked for them, my father starting as a communications engineer, and my mother as a secretary. She worked for both General Matthias and later Dr Von Braun as a secretary. My father was in the blockhouse during many of the launches from the mercury program to Apollos. He was privy to much of control room communications of the block house, or in Huntsville or Houston on occasion, the telemetry of it all. He was there front and center. I remember the conversations my parents had around the dinner table after work . They had no doubts about the moon landing. They were part of every step there. They knew the astronauts, the technicians, and directors. If it was all faked then there was a massive layer of professionals, and technicians of every level wildly scattered across the nation who were played as fools. They all were working for and invested in the space race. You are saying all these really bright people building this whole industry were taken in top to bottom by a staged special effects movie set. If it was fake, why did they believe it top to bottom? That doesn’t make sense to me. I think we went to the moon.

As much as I like many of the popular orthodox apologists on TH-cam, some take skepticism way too far at times. It’s fine to be skeptical, but it’s easy to go overboard and give a hyperbole take about the material and external world if not cautious.
