  • Over 10 million Brits are at risk of not having access to enough food, yet less than a fifth of those struggling to make ends meet look to food support services for help because of the stigma attached.
As part of its ongoing Nourish the Nation programme with Comic Relief which tackles food poverty in the UK, Sainsbury’s has partnered with poet Yrsa Daley-Ward to create a film and series of poems, ‘Unspoken Words’, that highlight the lived experiences of those facing food insecurity and raise awareness of the vital support food clubs offer.

It’s a hard thing when you fall through the crack through no fault of yours. It’s also so hard to recover, to find your feet again.

My Local is being shoplifted multiple times a day. I wrote to sainsbury's about security and got zero response. Do you think they will be absorbing the costs into their profit margin or raising prices to compensate? There are also safety issues to the staff and customers. No police and no security staff. Profits first. welcome to Britain. Thanks Sainsbury's, for your social conscience. My sympathies go to those so desperate for food, but you don't get to take the moral high ground as a profit driven company.
