Actually script is a very simple issue which should have been settled long before. But is was made into a complex issue by politicians because of vote bank politics. The script which is used by native goans should be the script of konkani an as far as konkani is concerned it is the Roman script. An not the script which is used by migrants or in other words ghatis who entered goa illegally during Portuguese rule as beggars specialy from maharashtra an now calling themselves goans.
Any language can write in different scripts, Mr H D Devegouda the then prime minister of India gave a speech in hindi with kannada sript on independence day.(Apabramsha manner ie hindi not spoken in hindi style) Similarly konkani with roman script.....

So Roman script with Saxtti/Bardeshi script is the clear winner for official Konkani language in Goa. Marathified Antruzi dialect with Devanagari script was imposed by Toilet Cleaner Rane so his Marathi migrant votebank could do POGO posing more easily. It also allowed Marathis to be hired for government jobs instead of hiring Goans.
I have listened to the interview between Adv.Radharao and Fr.Mousinho. Appears that nothing much was with (MA) in support of Nagri while Adv.Radharao had lot of material in favour of Romi. So we have to adopt plural forms of script.Let's advance and enrich our mother tongue Konkani. Please listen. We can grow not isolation

Roman script has to remain because the Tiatrs are written in the Roman script (l was born in the 1964 but according to the history, even during the Portuguese rule in Goa, Tiatrs were being held in Goa & these Tiatrs & ( the songs) were written in the Roman script. The Konknni nattaks were written in the Devnagri script. ( I remember the writers, Pundalik Narayan Naik & Pundalik Narayan Dande). I would just say that in Goa, both the scripts are required, (at least on the cultural levels including the writing of the songs).

The Bible in Konkani which is in the form of the Povitr Pustok and the Novo Korar and (also the Gaionancho Jhelo of Konkani hymns & also various other Konkani books) are written in the Roman script. So Roman script is required & to be supported but please know that, we are not against the Devnagri script which is taught in the schools now.

Why are Portuguese Evil?. Romi Konkani is also spoken and written by Christian community in Goa and churches, tiatres and household, then why it should not be given equal official status as Devnagri?. I understand Fr. Argument but Konkani is dying today and not spoken by young people in school and elsewhere because of the script.

English should be made the official language of Goa because goans dont repect Konkani.
