Thank you so much for the opportunity to do this project! It was super fun and I hope it inspires all the DIY people out there to think outside the box and go full send!
Would it be possible to do a ghost image that is slightly a lighter shade of a car's original colour? Similar to old school flame/skulls/lightning? I have an idea in my head, having an image across the rear quarter panel and over the boot lid, but barely visible untill you get closer to the car..? I've always wondered if this would be possible with DYC's dips.. and here you are..
I’ve had my bagged truck done by Jason at Just the Dipz, and it grabs attention everywhere it goes. People actually touch it and feel the rust texture. Jason is truly talented, and has made a name for himself with the “barn find” themes.
Lol unrelated to your truck or this video but I saw on your channel the Mrs. Geico RC boat. I used to work with a guy here in North Florida that when he lived down in south Florida worked for the Mrs. Geico team. He still hangs with them anytime their races come close enough to the Panhandle.
@@m.k.mcgill The “Texas Heatwave”, huh??? Do they even still do that show every year??? I am currently living in the DFW area, and have been since August of 2012, but I was born and raised in Memphis, Tn. I lived in Memphis up until 2012. My cousin and I drove his bagged and body dropped 96 Toyota pickup from Memphis all the way down to Round Rock to the Texas Heatwave show back in 2000 or 2001. Man, we had one helluva weekend I tell ya!!! One of the best experiences of my life!!! I absolutely fell in love with Texas that weekend. I moved to Texas for a job that relocated so needless to say I was pretty stoked when I got that news. Anywho, just wanted to share my off-topic story with you. Have a great weekend!!!
Can’t say I 100% love the look but I enjoyed this vid just to see his creativity and his how to. Watching an artist at work is always a pleasure. Thanks for the both of you collaborating on an awesome creation! Knocked this one out of the park!! 💥💥👍🏻👍🏻
The rust effect didnt hit for me. The pattern just looks too sandy. Like he drove it on the beach and the sand got wet and ran down the sides and dried there.
I agree. This isn't something I'd go for. Like Gas Monkey, they want to retain the rust patina! Why? If I'm spending a few grand on getting it sprayed, I'd like it to look the very best it can. Obviously, the guy's a great technician, no doubt. But his speciality isn't one I'd be asking for.
Damn, that's one of the best jobs I'v ever seen on this channel. The words "faded glory" come to mind to describe it. Like an old racing legend's car, lost to time.
I have a 73 fastback im gonna turn into a mach 1 clone. I was absolutely thinking of dipping over my paint with his paints.. that glow in the dark pearl was crazy
That is not just a beautiful paint. It's a.. portrait. And a story. The wear and tear of giving it all can be more breathtaking than perfection itself. I saw beautiful things out there, but this one is on another level. Thanks for creating & sharing!
You can’t possibly ever come to peel that, that’s a shop display piece right there wow!! Most definitely a promo car as well, I would cry if that was peeled. Get the Evo into more videos instead
Very cool idea. I think circular tire marks from where it would have rubbed against other cars, some dip to haze the lights, and dirty windows would complete the look.
The look isn't for me, but I completely completely RESPECT the painstaking effort that must have gone into perfecting these techniques and the time that it must've taken to get to this level. Nice work!
Having been a chef for 40 years and being blown away with what people do with good you guys blow me away with what you can do with paint amazing thank you

In-freakin'-sane !! I have never seen a DYC video that made me drop my jaw that far and that long as this one. Tons of respect for the man who did it: Jason. Damn... can't really put my enthusiasm in words, but I'm in awe. DAMN, this thing looks stunningly good.
That's an awesome job! I think it's crazy how that guy can have an entire business for "high profile" clients in his area, but where I'm at you get looked down upon if you dip your wheels. Do a whole car and show up to a car show or meet around here and you may as well move and change your name. It's like dip got a bad reputation and no one is willing to waver off it even though it's come a LOOOOONG way. Maybe my area just has a bunch of car mod snobs. lol.
This is BY FAR, the best paint job I've ever seen. If I bought a state of the art car, this is the kind of paint job I'd want. Great work, great skill. Well done guys!
Cool creative project. It looks very good. The only thing i didn't like was the damaged parts. I think that could've been done a little better. Other than that, nicely done.
I first saw this guy on another channel I follow where he did this to a corvette. To say he is an artist is a true understatement. Dipping is an art form in itself. But, to take a perfectly dipped car & make it look like crap is true art. I would even venture to say it’s actually harder than just dipping. Just one guy’s opinion.
Wow!!! Jason is right in my own back yard. Nice to know. Great job. Did not know you can go to that type of detail with dip. Working on my sons 2004 Ford Explorer. Doing the hood and roof in wicked wine but leaving the rest in the original color. Might start trying to think outside the box. Great video as always!!!
Omg yes. I've been looking to do this when I seen "offtheranch/demoranch" Matt go his corvette done. Im gonna do the road rash and maybe some kinda style of stripes on my road glide.
Damn that was some creative stuff. Nobody knows what the future of dipping holds, and it'll just keep getting crazier as long as creative people keep pushing the boundaries. It was a cool adventure. How are you gonna top this, Fonzie?
I don't really get why someone would WANT to make their car look old, banged up, and dirty, but I respect the time and skill and attention to detail put in by the artists. I guess this could be for set dessing, if it were necessary for a car in a movie to look like it was found abandoned in a barn?
Cars rust in barns? I thought that’s a yard thing. Barn cars are like mine with a protective layer of dust on. 😆 I humbly track back and edited. This has all the right makeup on now.
Beautiful final product. To see the progression of PDS over the last 8 or so years is amazing! Its great to see you featuring a premium installer's work to not only promote the brand but their business as well (and giving the DIYer some pro tips as well). Great work Fonzie and the DYC team. Great innovation Jason using different techniques and mediums for a beautiful end result.

Better yet, leave this as is and just get yourself another Mustang for the shop. Don't ruin this masterpiece.

I kind of want to see the peel
I want to send that through a car wash, and when it comes out just be like...duuude your car wash is broken.
Roflmao. That'd be hilarious
😂🤣😄🤣😂😂😂
Legit don't need to wash it, dirt is gonna just add more character
Yasss! Go Fonz, do it! And try to film it so that you can publish it (it'll be an advertisement for the washing company after all).
Better yet, take it to an actual hand wash to confuse the workers 😂
