    Hey Sammy it's Jack the guy with the black Peterbilt. We met at the TA in Barstow about this time last year. I used that in my motor. it did the trick for me. I was using a gallon about every 3000 miles. Now I use a gallon about every 10000 miles. I change it at 12. I did it after I deleted everything, I wanted to clean all that crap out of there the best I could. That was about a year-and-a-half ago and I'm still going strong. Hope it works for you too

But I know I follow the recommendations I didn't change filters or anyting during the process. I'll see you again sometime take care bud

    Had a 14 cummins did the same thing, but with a lot less miles... cummins recommended valvoline restore, tried it, and ended putting new pistons and rings in it. Super common on the 14-15,s and probably a few more

    Schaeffer oil, Ultra Performance 10W30, will do the same thing they’re claiming and is much cheaper. Schaeffer has a has a powerful additive package that will actively clean the crud out. I’ve witnessed it in a used Volvo I bought. The first 75k miles of samples were terrible, but now they’re perfect.

    • @Sprotdude17
      @Sprotdude17 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This valvoline oil has a 50% group 5 Easter base stock, that's what does the job. Schaeffer is a amazing oil but they don't use any Ester, if you want the closet equivalent to this valvoline oil the only other one on the market is redline 15w40 which is also a 50% Ester base stock. Those are the only 2 diesel oils on the market that use that much Ester, a high Ester oil will clean a gunked up gasoline engine in 10,000 miles (I know we're talking about diesels but thats not where my experience lays)

    It works!! I use less than 1/2 gal btw 15,000 mile oil change. Jerry recomended doing this oil change yearly to keep engine clean. I have next years oil change sitting at home in my office!! Keep a few gals with you at all times, it’s designed to clean the carbon from your rings which means it’s designed to be burnt off. Also, after running it I tried Delo oil, she did NOT like it, switched back to Delvac and all is good with the world!!!

    2350 ISX '13 engine. This stuff works. I have used it since I had 400,000ml and started to burn oil. I use it every 120,000ml and it keeps my oil consumption at reasonable level. Now I am at 1.2 million and going strong.

    • @LaszM-o5o
      @LaszM-o5o 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @MakeCentsTrucking , yes. I change the oil between with regular part synthetic. Then the oil burning slowly increasing from 10,000ml/gallon to 5,000. Then comes the Valvoline Restore change what resets to 10,000.
      Btw, I have experienced the same cold leak issue. I needed to get fixed, because it failed on the company safety inspection. But the Valvoline saved me from an early rebuild.

    I have a 2011 isx . Been using 5 gl lucas Pure synthetic in it for years , just hit a 970,000 miles going to do the inframe this week . Im also going to install a Spinner Centerfuge to help out with the carbon . I had the same oil leak it would leak when cold and seal up after 30 min of driving. That engine is only going to get worse, would not be suprised if your oil cooler gaskets fail and start leaking oil into the coolant (mine did) all down hill from there .
    Great video always good info. 👍👍

    Try the mobil delvac for me that is the best oil for trucks or Rotella , Im a owner operator I have 2 trucks and one of them is Cumming ISX for those type of engine it’s normal the oil consumption in my truck it takes 2-3 gallons between maintenance and I do my maintenance at 12,000 , what you need to worried is the pressure of the oil to the engine put some Lucas in the middle of maintenance. I stay away from shops I do the mechanic and maintenance they will rip you off!!! Stay safe out there

    High oil consumption is a byproduct of piston ring ware. You need new piston rings. Problem is, you probably can't buy just the rings. Keep a eye on your turbo also. One bad o-ring could cause her to run away. ✌

    I'm afraid this is a band-aide to a problem if it even helps at all. Carbon packing around ringlands on top of the compression rings causes "glazing" to the cylinder walls (basically polishing the Inside diameter of your cylinders down past the cross hatching.) because carbon is harder than the steel sleeve. Without out cross hatching on your cylinders your oil doesn't adhere to the the cylinder walls as evenly which compounds the problem further by making it worse faster. Just plan on doing cylinder packs sooner than later. Get that thing freshened up and keep hammerin my dude, Best of luck Sammy B!

If you follow Rawze he was saying to even change at 10k miles cause of that carbon buildup. My uncle switched oil to Rotella and saying that now he adds less than half what he used to add. He has 2350 with 850k miles, no rebuild yet.

    I was at 500k on mine when Cummins recommended I use that for 1 oil change. I went from using 3 gallons between intervals to using 1 or less between. I also started averaging an extra mile a gallon. What I'll add though is my truck wasn't demandated, and after that started having to drop and clean that DPF about every 80k or so.
