She still has a valid niches in buffing casters, being able to be helidropped faster then Logos, and being able to hit behind her range during skill duration
And many that arent in my squad by virtue of ... Not having them. And as Day 1's its really hard to get them as theyre locked behind Kernel Headhunting or extreme luck in Recruitment. No Abyssal Hunters except andreana, no Hoshi, no Nightingale (but I do have Shining), no SilverAsh; I only have Exusiai and Eyjafjalla from 6* Selector tickets - the former that just dropped with Path of Life, the latter I bought for $25....
Fun fact: Skyfire is still really good as her stun feels like it was designed to knock certain enemies out of the air before those enemies even came out. Those kinds of enemies are showing up more and more too!
I've only been playing Arknights for a year and a half, so it's wonderful to see so many of my favorite operators being present since Day 1! People like Bloop, Ptilo and Seige are just fun to have around, and it's frankly mind-boggling to see that Blast Casters have been around for that long when we've only just got a third one to work with.
I hope they remember about my Girl Skyfire. She haven't gotten any new skin and upgrade that she deserves. So far, she is the only operator that I bought using yellow ticket. That's how much I wanted her. Since getting a meaningful buff is nearly impossible for non 6* characters in Arknights, my only hope is they make her 6* alter.

I also kinda dont remember well which ones are from Day 1 exactly, bcs i logged in first time about a year and half ago, but one op i surely wish i had is Mostima, such a good design and interesting kit, i like her a lot. Also i dont have Eyja nor her alter... so yeah, Logos and honeyberry take their roles instead.
Texas, Vigna, Gravel (#1 operator imo), Lappland, specter, Saria, Nightingale, and Shining. I also have warfarin and liskarm built just in case I need another medic/defender, and Firewatch to make use of the nuclear launch codes she has laying around.
I've had Angelina as my Day 1 op and still use her to this day, cheap dp, aoe arts and decent damage, heals, and gimmiks. She's cute on top of everything :D

Great video mate! I’m also a long time player, so seeing others still use their loyal operators feels nice. I use all the operators you listed out, alongside a lot of others from launch Hoshiguma is still one of the tankiest units in the game, and I have Nian! If I want pure beef, she’s there. Angelia still stays in my account with her special ability to reduce the weights of enemies. I love using shifters, so she’s a mainstay. If the launch rate up banner of Skadi counts, then her as well. I play with the abyssal hunters, so she is perfect. Siege will forever be my Annihilation vanguard, 2 block, decent stats and afk DP. She was my first 6* too lmfao. Warfarin is still one of my go too buffers, as not everyone can handle Skadi Alter’s S3 or Aak beating them over the head. Plus, her S1 is still great for Surtr not dying comps that I have fun with from time to time. FEater is still my go to choice for a basic pusher, even while having Weedy. Sometimes the stun from Weedy is something I really don’t want, so she’s perfect for that. Lastly, I pretty much have everyone 4* and below leveled up to E1 max and CONSTANTLY use em for lower level stages in events, challenge runs, IS, etc etc. From the kokodayos, to Lancet-2’s cheap and long range heals for 0 cost. It's nice to play a gacha where Y1 operators don't feel like a burden, aside from a few sad cases... I'm sorry my dear Nightmare, but you're just too niche for too low of a payout Q.Q
Yoo, Purestream and Perfumer is still my go to medic, their talents is a huge plus for a 4 star medics. (The modules also very viable option to spend more resource as a beginner back in the day)
I use Skyfire till nowadays bcs once in past i had no other AoE and liked her skill 2 so i leveled her a lot, in a point i didn't had much resources to spare... it turned that she got to the freezer for a long time bcs i didn't like her slow aspd on skill. But i felt pity of her and the resources i invested then i brought her back to use, and here she stood.
I have a strong impression that Hypergryph thought Skyfire was going to be popular on the early days of AK, I swear they used to shill her quite a bit. But she never took off
No Angelina, boo, Her hp regen talent and aspd support with a good slow and weight reduction makes her really fun. Additionally I use her in Reclamation algorithm. Also Skyfire is very fun to use specially since she scales well with aspd and nowadays there are alot of Aspd buffers then there used to be.
I must say ifrit is crack. S3 is a 24 sec cooldown for 20 sec of pure molten lava road. She not only supports other operators but also dish out an insane amount of dmg. Bit of an old boss but mudrock as a boss need to buildup shield and power which if you use ifrit mudrock just melt and die instantly. Or in chapter 14 you can use her long range on theresa both killing the boss and being comfy out of the dmg range.
Day 1 ops just have a charm and certain uniqueness to em. Still use most of em as staples more or less. save for the ones I don't have yet like Eyja or got too late. They still hold up one way or another regardless.
i still use jessica alter till this day since i joined in her banner and i still use flametail too! (uh, i use jessica alter in every stage no matter what and i love her a bit too much)
Texas also do AoE Arts damage on top of all that, she is just unbelievably handy (to the point I think she shouldn't get an alter because her base form is alr good) Lappland also do two target Arts half of the time too, make a big different when you are stuck on high DEF armored dude, even Thorns (pre-mod) fold on that Red could be there if Texas alter doesn't exist (compare to Phantom's S3, Red S2 has no RNG, with utterly less DP cost due to being 5☆ is way easier to get Po, and less resource needed overall, extra range hardly matter if you didn't roll what you want on Phantom, and pushing randomly fk u up make him even worse), Red has been in need of an alter since then 😞
Once you get past the meta mindset it’s genuinely crazy that people called and still to this day call Skyfire bad lol. When you look into it none of the Splash casters are actually that bad, just that they have notable weaknesses due to their branch. But even then said weaknesses aren’t a major detriment to them. If people can say Ifrit is good despite her branch then that should be applied to other casters as well lol.
@@echigokurogane8612 well, Ifrit is good despite of her branch because she's just inherently loaded. If she was a Core Caster, she'd be as busted as Eyja. If she was a Splash Caster she'd be as busted as she currently is. That's just how it is. If you're in a bad branch, you have to overcompensate with a busted kit. If you don't then you'll be just bad. Dusk and Mostima in trying to be balanced they become bad. That's not how it works. You have to be busted as a Splash Caster to be good.
My still used D1s : SA, Saria, Eyja, NG, Hoshi, Ifrit, Pramanix, Texas, Lappy, Manticore? Not sure she's day 1, Perfumer?, BP, Beagle, Gummy?, Orchid, Noir Corne, Ansel. My Saria and SA are full pot. Beagle below are useful for IS. Perfumer can heal unhealables globally. Manticore + Suzuran is super slow combo. If you add that blue lady with the clock, double time stop duration. Texas has the fastest instant DP boost and I don't think anybody could compete yet. Flametail costs more expensive and generate less. Saileach generate less within single activation and she blocks 1 less. Who i built but not used anymore : Exu, Cliffheart, Skyfire, Aak, Specter, Magallan. Is warfarin D1? I think i still use her, tho not frequently. Liskarm, i have feeling if i still could use her. But actually i never had the chance. Ptilo is a d1 character i use but i built her much later, like 3 years later 😂.
No apple pie? In my very biased opinion she's the best buff army recipient. Bringing 5-7 other dudes (shining, aak, skalter, warfarin, shamare, Elysium, etc) to boost exu s3 will never not be fun.
@@ashen3093 we definitely still would need the buff army even with the new Y module. shredding 250 flat defense is a godsend but some enemies still rock over 1k defense(according to the AK tera wiki, any enemy with an A or higher in DEF has over 1k DEF) and Y module alone wont make dealing with them easy.
@@ashen3093 You still absolutely do. 200-250 damage a hit on enemies with 850-1k defense isnt that impressive, and theres tons of enemies with even higher which will invalidate her module Y entirely. 861 defense and higher Thresholds her, so 850+ - which Heavy Defenders often have - wont be affected that much. 930 Defense with S3m3 is a good jump up, but beyond that? Id still rather be using Pinecone or April for a lot of things as theyll still have much better per-hit damage
There is no "Corroserum"-Lane or "Aroma"-Lane There is only, always was and always will be the "Ifrit"-Lane No matter if Ifrit is even there, it's still HER lane
I really like SA now his module is out. ifrit is still really good and saria still awesome. exu is kinda eh, but not terrible, just has her niche. honestly pretty much never use eya

Ceobe pretty much powercrept her a long time ago though, Eyja is just easier to use overall.

Now that I think about it there are many D1 operators in most of my squads... pretty cool to see old operators being still quite useful.
It is honestly quite nice, it tells us that power creep isn’t in the worst state, (though there is some that exists)

Hoshi was my first 6*, my first e2. Just because of that, I play defenderknights sometimes.
I somehow still don't have Hoshi after all these years. And I pull plenty.

I feel it’s definitely not impossible for 5 stars. They have a ton of good buffers.

Hoshi and Exu are the only 2 6* I use nowadays from Day 1. For 5*, i ise Nearl instead of Saria purely because waif and Ptilopsis for obvious reasons.

Mostima now I argue is the time god now with that insane module. I dont even have to pop her skill and global enemies move 33% slower.
Dusk is just sad now with the new shaper archtype. She still have that big S3 Arts AoE nuke as her saving grace
