I have applied for my PsyD in clinical psychology at Capella! This is not APA accredited, my question is would I be able to get my license to work in NY?
I just finished internship 1 at Capella for the Marriage & Family Therapy program. It was extremely stressful. So stressful that I feel like I need to do content about it as well to help others. Glad I found your video ! Great video 💖
Thank you so much for watching! Yesss, sharing your experience can help someone else, especially because there isn't much content explaining the process.
Hi! I'm debating between FMT and MHC degree, not sure what the real difference is. How is your experience at Capella for the FMT program? How is the internship set up?
@@jamilahthealchemist hi, how has your experience with the FMT program? How is the internship/practicum actually set up? How many hours per semester do you need? I'm debating between FMT and MHC degree, not sure what the real difference between both are...I know at the end of the day with both you still can do individual therapy and couples therapy. Not sure which program prepares you better to be a therapist/clinician. Please share your experience 🙏🙏
I am currently a PhD student at Capella University. Recently, although I have been an "A" student, I was subjected to the humiliation of Academic withdrawal when I failed the Comp. Exam 2x.My concern is that Capella has no resources to help the Ph.D. student answer the CE Questions. This leaves you in a predicament that is subjective to the CE grading, which is capricious and arbitrary. Your videos have inspired me to create my video VLOG regarding recent experiences as a PhD student at Capella.
Omg! I am so sorry this happened to you! I have heard this similar story before unfortunately. Please make a video! The more people that speaks up the better. Is there anyway some of your credits can transfer to another program??
Ok so majority of the issues was w your site and not the school. I know that can deter some but the first denial and hindering me from succeeding would have had me out the door.
I'm currently a MS Clinical Psychology/Clinical Counseling Student at Capella University. I've completed all the courses required but having difficulities finding an internship site. I'm working full-time and I don't know how to fit internship around my work schedule.
Regrettably, Capella University's PsyD program is not accredited, which means that most states will not acknowledge the degree. Based on several student testimonials, participants have praised the program for its ease
Your supervisor did not misread the email and she could have let you sit in on your coworkers sessions. I am hearing too many stories like this and it makes me uncomfortable. I am graduating this year and ready to just get my degree and do something else because how do they expect us to get all required hours from selfish supervisors. But also, how can one even complete an internship and still work a FT job and cater to other responsibilities? I am sorry that this happened to you. Where are you now in the process? Did you have to pay your supervisor? I am reading all of this foolishness and becoming less interested in licensure if this is the expectation.
Hey! Sorry I am late with answering this. Currently, I am at a new site with a better supervisor that actually advocates for me, guides me, and teaches me. This should be my last semester prayerfully but I did have doubts about counting with licensure. It is a lot to juggle but I am still going to pursue it.
So I'm looking into Capella for my graduate in clinical psych so I will be watching all your videos!
Thanks so much for watching! I hope you learn something and please do your research before you commit anywhere.

It sounds like your site supervisor was 1. Full of it and 2. Just didn't want you to win
