I like the three-book reviews. There's usually one that interests me and it keeps the overview short. Also, if one book or resource is good, you can spend more time on it. I don't feel it's necessary to split time evenly on stuff that doesn't deserve it.
The number of books can vary. A large book might stand on it's own; whereas, for smaller books covering three would make it easier to avoid giving away too much of them. If two books catch your fancy but you're struggling to pick a third, then there's no harm in just going with the first two.
I dig the 3-book review version with the price tiers you’ve done in the past. One free/CYOP book (or document), one mid/range, maybe $5-15, and one at whatever price. Gives good options to players at all level of financial commitment.
I like learning a little bit about all sorts of books I like the variety. Whenever I get around to running my first campaign I'll DEF be picking up that underwater campaign guide.
I think it depends on what you're covering. Larger ones might do well spending some time to go over what all is in it, even necessitating a single product in a video (like call of the deep) but there are several that are small and could serve as a lightning round in smaller supplements that typically sell for
I have more than once actually bought a book you recommended, so I appreciate when you feel strongly about the books you review. It does not matter as much as how many books you review per video.
8:48 Damn it Jarlaxle! You stole my class feature! I have a very similar warlock feature for a homebrewed Otherworldly Patron I just wrote up the other day. The only real difference between his and mine is mine is per long rest only, lasts for one minute, and can be applied to a melee weapon, your fist (unarmed strikes), or up to 5 pieces of ammo. It improves at higher levels. P.S. If you care to know, the Otherworldly Patron is Jormungandr, the Lindwurm.
Thx for your hard work on vids AND on Ida. I live in NJ where we got hit really hard. Massive flooding. Power was on. The support from power as a whole mad the difference
Thanks for the video. I personally like 3 book overview because how much variety it can have and how you don't have to try harder not to show too much.
I like either option - I really like that underwater book, that really is nuts that it includes so much. And I'm very unlikely to come across these books other than watching one of your videos and so to see more in depth is cool b/c it does give me a better idea of what all is in them, but at the same time it looks like from the other comments that most people want a broader coverage of more books and I can understand that POV as well. So I'm good with either - but maybe you could do quicker coverage on some books but on ones that you really like you can do a more in depth video (if its reasonable within your time constraints to make videos, b/c I also absolutely understand having another job that takes precedence and that sometimes you may have to be more judicious with your time and can only do one or the other). Great video though.
Killing Melodies I would assume to be psychic damage. Think 2-3 books are a good mix, most likely to provide interest to higher no of viewers and therefore interaction to your content. Win win.
Looking at the "Pay What You Want" previews of Jarlaxle's Bag on the DMs Guild, the content doesn't seem particularly well-balanced or even following basic 5e lingo and game mechanics; (example, quickening spell: "you are granted 1 additional bonus action to make an off-hand melee attack against a creature.") The preview of some of the optional class features also makes me scratch my head, as they seem completely random (advantage for all wizard on Investigation (Intelligence) checks?) and possibly step on existing subclass features. The fact that the product has no star reviews yet also leaves me wary, given the 19.95 $ price. That being said, I love those previews of DMs Guild products. My vote would be for 3 shorter book reviews per video review.
Reviewing 2 or 3 items both work well. Either way, keeping the video to 10 or 15 minutes per item is appreciated. 1 item wouldn't work as well, as you mentioned, and more items would make the video too long.
I have a drow Eilistraee followers encounter coming up with my group and I want to prepare an underwater settlement because of a triton party member. 2/2 video for me, thanks!
I absolutely hate these "Everything" meme supplements. None of them will live beyond this edition and the "humor" is going to be poorly dated in the near and distant future.
@@paulpower9959 Well I wouldn't say it's bad, it literally says it only triggers on a critical hit, and still, the creature has a saving throw to prevent it. It also only works on creatures weaker than you too.

I prefer 3 books just for a wider spread. Any dms guild content you're looking forward to in the future?

I like the 3 reviews as well. You can do 3 with small snippits and it gives us options
Thanks for the attention :)
Man, I really wish they printed physical copies for these books
Agreed. I only buy physical content with a few smaller and printable exceptions.
Three books. You’ve caused me to pick up multiple books with the 3 book format so why stop now?! XD
I like learning a little bit about all sorts of books I like the variety. Whenever I get around to running my first campaign I'll DEF be picking up that underwater campaign guide.
i definitely prefer 3 books as im more likely to see something i like
I don't think you should feel constrained to always feature a set number of books, but personally I favor more than one.

3 books. Please do "Odyssey of the Dragonlords." It is such a good campaign module and setting.
Three book reviews for sure.
Much prefer breadth of reviews than depth. So 3 items is better.
I'd prefer 3 books tbh

a couple books seems like a good way to focus in

3 books please.

I think you should include some commentary on the art included in each publication.
3 books with snips of other things. Hits a broad range of interests
I think 3 products are good. A nice range of options
Completely unrelated but will you be covering the new fallout roleplaying tabletop when it releases?
The reviews help me determine to buy. I always do so with the Nerd Immersion code

I like the 2 book format it saves me money not buying 3 books at a time
Just for the fact of an Eilistraee domain might make me put out the money
I have a drow Eilistraee followers encounter coming up with my group and I want to prepare an underwater settlement because of a triton party member. 2/2 video for me, thanks!
I would like not the detail of the book, but more simple summary and more lot of books review
I absolutely hate these "Everything" meme supplements.

First
Jarlaxle's Bag of Everything subclass designs are very bad
Yes… yes they are. Especially the gladiator’s level three “instant kill” ability
