Can you shut off the answering machine function... the phone line already comes with a voicemail feature?
Sorry we have removed this phone, because of no use. Mostly using mobile.
Both bases need to be connected in the phone line or only the main one?

Base keeps flashing on my gigaset AL 415 how do I solve this
It could be looking for handset, or trying to register handset. Press the register key , and it should stop.

Thanks for playing some of the melodies - some of the worst sounding ones I've ever heard! Certainly not as good as Panasonic polyphonic ring tones.

Older/Cheaper phones had those ringtones. Newer Gigaset phones, or higher end ones, have way beter ringtones. For some you could upload them via USB cable and computer app.
