A lovely peaceful and beautiful video, just pointing out the things that I would. Your soothing Manor and voice really do make your videos a tonic, thanks for all the pleasure you have provided 😁😁
Ta for that Johny, you really brought home the laborous task the locks can be. Usually I just sit on the boat and watch what you're doing, or if I get a bit bored, I look around other boats or go down and check out your cupboards. I never thought to give you a hand, sorry mate. You've always got that start of a smile on your gob, so I never thought twice. Ill be a changed man next episode. Thanks Johny, and take care.
Hi Phillip. The wide locks really are slow going. Fine if there is two boats each with additional crew, but solo it's quite a faff! I think I got spoiled on the Oxford the other year.
Happy to hear that signature music and see/hear your cheery voice/face - didn't expect to see you blogging for a while yet. Bucked me up no end on this clammy dark day in Victoria, BC. Canada
Hi Robin. The weathers not been all that here - infact a few flurries of snow, quite a shock to the system after two nice weeks. I'm several weeks behind with videos still in editing and I'm still filming so there's more to come!
Thankyou for sharing, im not a boater but looking to buy one. You gave some useful tips as I would not have thought it would be toxic in the lock with another boater but iguess it makes sense if engines running. Also seeing a tyre used when mooring makes sense to avoid damaging sides of boat, think I will subscibe for more useful tips. 😀
Hi Sheila. Glad you found me useful. If you are after a boat I might know of one ;) Actually, the tires make excellent fenders for when you are moored against any hard edge - they totally absorb any bumps. And yes, plenty of pollution from engines, coal etc I'm afraid, it's not really "green." Good luck with finding the right boat.
Great seeing you on your travels again JL, looked like a nice stretch of water, loved seeing the swans and ducks, looking forward to the next video, stay safe and well 🚢🚢🚢
Don't forget I'm several weeks behind! But yes still hardly any boats about. As I come within reach of London it's mainly just people moving a couple miles a fortnite anyway.
If you leave the gate paddle open until you have closed the gates you will find they move a lot easier as the water can pass through the gate and not have to go around it.
That is a very peaceful stretch of canal. I don’t expect you were slowing those people down. They wouldn’t have been able to shoot off to the next lock if you weren’t closing the top gates.
Hey Mike. I was using a Huawei B525s . Very pleased as it has two aerial inputs and 4 land connectors as well as a connection for a normal land line style telephone, so with the right sim I could make and receive calls as well. However, the three sim no longer works in it so I went to using a spare phone as a router. I certainly wouldn't recommend three.
@@ProjectNarrowboat John. I take it that it was a three sim only ,what i am looking for is a multi sim unit . Thanks for finding the time to answer , it all helps .
Loved your video today, calming, enjoyable and also informative. Thank you Johnny x
Thanks Evelyn, I aim to please :)

Such a relaxing video, Johny. Thanks for sharing it with us. Please be safe and stay well. 👍
Thanks Lenora, glad you enjoyed. I loved seeing the Chilterns come into sight, practically home turf.
Always look forwards to your vlogs jonny ,many thanks 👍👍
Cheer's Tony. You're very welcome.

Hi Johnny, looked like a nice cruise stay safe.
I loved seeing the Chilterns come into sight, familiar territory for me.
Fair journey Mr London.
Hey Will, I do my best.

Hi Chris. Yes it's a nice peaceful stretch of canal that, though quite hard work with all the locks of course.
I've enjoyed your channel for sometime now, I'm sorry to hear your leaving the canals for awhile. Good luck, and good health, hope you'll be back.
Thanks Robert, for now it's for the best though already thinking about future boats!
Another enjoyable vlog. Really hope you keep doing them even when you run out of canal footage. Btw it’s Ivinghoe as in eye vinghoe 😉
I knew I'd trip up over that one! Well, there's a good few in the pipeline if I can just keep up with the editing!
@@ProjectNarrowboat hoping we also get the Christmas Day vlog even if it’s not on the boat. It’s become an Xmas tradition!
Everything still seems so quiet on cut. A good excuse to take your time if there is no rush. Stay safe JL

Aw love the vlog. You should go at you speed and not rush for others. Take care.
Hi Caroline. You are quite right, of course.
If you leave the gate paddle open until you have closed the gates you will find they move a lot easier as the water can pass through the gate and not have to go around it.
I heard that - but I also heard that there is the chance of debris blocking it. So, I just do them how they come, which can be either way.

I guess you are right but it felt like it. Sometimes it's nice just to dawdle and not worry.
HI John, Can i ask what 12v router aerial sim etc. you use on boat and are you pleased with it ? Mike

Well I eat it, and they seem to like it too! But sorry to lose you Chris.
