    Ive never had that first one. I use “Learn to Read the Greek New Testament: Expanded Edition” its the one you have but a different cover and probably slightly different. He has like 20+ videos of him teaching a class along with the book. That really helped and gave me a foundation to progress and actually start reading or understand what other people were talking about when they announced grammar rules and terminology. The book by itself without the videos would have been a nightmare.

      @@BonzTrinitarian Yes, I couldn't agree more! His videos are excellent, and they are also where I got my foundation.

    I teach koine Greek from Essentials Of New Testament Greek by Summers and Sawyer and I love this book. But Blacks’ videos are great and very helpful. I understand why you call him your hero. God bless you in your studies. 😊

      @@Effectiveprayer that's awesome! Several people have mentioned and recommended summers and Sawers book to me, in your experience how is it? Also, you reach Greek? That is so cool! Would you ever like to do an interview and talk about your experience reaching and learning Greek?

      @ Yes I do. Summers is similar to Black, condensed and to the point; the best approach.

    Thanks for the video. I'm homeschooling my children and we are using Blacks' first grammar, "Learn to Read New Testament Greek". I'm researching an intermediate grammar and ran across "It's Still Greek to Me". Would you recommend Black's intermediate grammar for a second year Greek course or a different intermediate Greek grammar? Based on your video, I feel like you consider It's Still Greek to Me as more of a review with, perhaps, more in depth explanations of grammar concepts; good as a supplement for Black's first grammar; in contrast to a fuller, deeper intermediate grammar. This would be good for my children to nail down the basics before, hopefully, entering a more in depth intermediate grammar book in the future. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

      @@goldenarm2118 great question! I recommend you use either "Young's intermediate grammar" or "Robert Plummers intermediate grammar" I think that both of those are good! Youngs tends to be more concise and to the point it also matches Black's grammar the closest in style. However Robert Plummer grammar has more information. It's totally up to you, either way you can't go wrong with either of these. By the way, GREAT JOB teaching your kids Greek!!! Good for you!

      @@JohnMiles117 I just ran across your review of "Young's Intermediate Grammar". Your enthusiasm made run over to Amazon and buy it. Thanks for your recommendation. I also bought Black's Intermediate Grammar since it was cheap. Just another resource. Thanks, again.

    Would you say this would be a suitable grammar for Greek Syntax 1 and 2 classes in a seminary?

    • @JohnMiles117
      @JohnMiles117  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kamalkhalil9090 Not alone. It works best I think as a companion piece. Pair it with a more exhaustive intermediate grammar such as Wallace or Plummer. I think that's really where this grammar shines, as a supplement or as a refresher for quick reference.
