I guess I'm living the ultimate hack, make content no one cares to copy 😅 Its unfortunate seeing more and more copy and paste channels pop up because like you said its really hurting the lego community as a whole and narrows the type of videos being out. But i feel like that's society in general these days. Something does well and everyone tries to copy it exactly. The thumbnail topic is a tough one. The new "style" of split screen is super generic and people complain but at the same time thats what works, ignoring trends and what is popular is gonna hurt your channel. I'm trying to find the right balance myself, between originality and whats trending. Building a core audience that's interested in you and your ideas is vital to long term success on TH-cam. I'll be honest my channel has struggled for much of this year and views are down. But I feel like I have a core audience that has stuck by me and a community i've built that can carry me through until things pick up. But that came about by creating my own brand of content over the years.
Even Mr. Beast has come out and said that he’s had some really good success with split-screen thumbnails. I don’t think using the format is the same as copying and pasting, but there’s definitely a balance
“Fellow content creators are co workers, they deserve respect” 👏🏼 Appreciate that you’re confronting this issue. If no one did, it would only continue to grow.
I completely agree,I got some of my footage stolen and put in a stupid ai Lego video and it wasn't even there for a reason it was just there to pad out this person's video, it's really discouraging.
Crediting inspirations is not only a respectful thing to do, but finding common interests is a great way to actually grow audiences too. Well said & awesome top/jumper!
In the academic world this is called plagiarism. It is a shame that there isn't more creators can do to protect their ideas. I realize TH-cam is a completely different animal, but this destroys peoples careers in other fields. Best of luck in your creation! You earned a new subscriber today.
some lego youtubers arent even original and without personality, not to mention they are trying to be like mr beast, super fast and ultra edited with the same sounds and effects every single video...
Love this. ❤️ Especially the bit about colleagues/peers within the community. I'm always inspired by other creators, with you, it's the Mech thing, I love Mechs and more so thanks to you. But I am really laser focused around being original and recognizable in my own way, but finding that USP is a longer, organic process. Great video and loved the insight and advice. 🎉❤
It grinds my gears so much that I’ve had to get my gears replaced 500 times this year and now am on a payment plan with Auto Zone. At least I’m a platinum member now.
There are people in the TH-cam channel growing niche that are telling people to go to the most popular channels in your niche and copy them. That's why this is going to keep happening.
Definitely some solid points here. As someone who really enjoys the creative process and finds it very rewarding to come with new ideas and concepts, i agree that stealing ideas in the community has gotten out of hand.
I totally agree with the points in this video one thing I wanna say is I’m currently working a stop motion using Lego and for the story I made wrote everything about the story the world characters planets etc I spent 4 weeks coming up with ideas and it’s going to be based off my love for sci fi movies I totally agree that if we feel inspired by somthing we should at least give credit for who gave you the idea btw this stop motion project is taking me 4 months to make it looks pretty bad for. My first
As a person who makes videos with an existing IP it can be hard to justify the video as original, seeing as I didn't create the world and characters. For me it's about what you do with the world and characters and what stories you can create that are unique to other creators, despite using the same sandbox. Using the same IP can lead to similar themes but stealing like this is just nuts. Great video
I like how a good content creator will be honest with the viewers, if I feel the same as that creator I understand or I still need to learn from other's experiences. That's why I continue to watch. I have a love hate with LEGO at all times, so even when some content creators say they want to quit I understand, and when they continue uploading, I also understand....
I totally agree man. I was once more consistent with TH-cam but the types of videos I liked making didn’t fit into the algorithm and clickbait videos. But then again for me it’s more of a hobby and a way to share my hobby. To be honest I kind of am sick of the lego TH-cam space it’s pretty unoriginal and way too over saturated.
The B3 literally just his Olympics video stole by one Of those Contant farms it really just makes me mad the people go around find these bigger TH-camrs and steal their contact just reviews
Nothing new under the Sun. Yet, w/that in mind ,I partially agree with you. I'm NEW to the LEGO community. The one thing I noticed and it is very a ss burning is the LEGO Store Thumbnail. When creators take the pic. holding up the LEGO bag in front of a LEGO Store. I wonder who started that BS.
Money is king. A lot of people don't care how they get it. I'm constantly reminding my son who wants to be a content creator someday to make sure that whatever he ends up doing, he has purpose and meaning in it.
Inspiration is good, but be you, not other TH-camrs. It takes time, but if you trust in the process and find your own style, you'll go far on the platform
It is an outrageous act. But Lego content is what I watch but... Is there any "original content"? City builders do the same thing, set reviewers do the same thing, podcasts do the same thing, moc builders do same thing, ... But all with own twist. But I will keep watchimg 😅I am,sometimes thinking all Ideas have been kinda thought of. 🤔 You can only tweak it to "make it your own" I ain't a content creator so not my strong suit 🤷♂️ Just an old school IG-er😅
God glad ppl start talk about this topic. I’m personally tired of copy paste TD BRICKS clones… sadly in polish yt we have same issues… Boomer mode: I wish for real to bring back times when Lego was hobby for antisocial nerds and not a viral trendy thing like Rn
I’ve unfollowed one specific Lego tuber, literally as you said the6 and the 3? Plus channels they have literally just copy, hack and rerelease other people’s ideas - down to the name of the video sometimes within a few days. If they do any unique stuff it’s lost within the masses of copies. One of the best things that ever happened to them was they lost being a Lego ambassador because they broke contract with Lego by complete stupidity (or was it a planned leak?) then spent an hour complaining about how wasn’t their fault. I unfollowed them shortly after that - it was possibly the most negative and narcissistic Lego video I’d ever watched.
Some rules to help avoid junk Lego content: avoid and select "do not recommend channel" for the following: * Title has "haul" in it * Thumbnail with fake shocked face * Creator is part of the LAN, which means there's a conflict of interest and you'll likely get the same dumb talking points. As for idea theft and parasitism, those are sadly part and parcel of TH-cam and social media. Plus the Lego TH-cam space is just vastly overcrowded.
I do Lego videos too. I've never watched any of your videos before. In fact, this is my first. All my MOCs I have made and have done videos about are my own creations.
im sorry if this has to do with my vid, ill take it down if u want. I didnt meant to steal urs, i just wanted to share my opinion😢. Im sorry if i made u mad.
They were a bit of a problem before Covid, but ever since Covid in with the popularity of Lego ballooning they been such a bigger issue now Especially with the advent of AI
It really frustrates me. There are so many videos with the same stile of thumbnail and everyone copies everyone so you have no idea who even started it.
Content theft definitely is frustrating and annoying. But at the same time when someone steals my video ideas, styles, or topics it tells me I’m doing something right that other people aren’t
The worst part: These are not ‘immature aspirant TH-camrs’ that copy out of necessity, these are content farms and TH-cam gurus
your right, brick science is one of them, he copied the red lightsaber from me and I think I'm not the only one he has copied
brb stealing this for a video
"borrowing" you mean 😎
Lemme know when it’s done, I’d like to steal your version afterwards.
dude i love your videos
Hahaha
I guess I'm living the ultimate hack, make content no one cares to copy 😅

Hi I’m subbed to u

This kinda sorta just terminates creativity within Lego TH-cam and makes people think copying gets them popularity
In the academic world this is called plagiarism. It is a shame that there isn't more creators can do to protect their ideas. I realize TH-cam is a completely different animal, but this destroys peoples careers in other fields. Best of luck in your creation! You earned a new subscriber today.

TH-cam fricks out over copyrighted music but not copied videos 😂
FR 😂
Great video, I think I'll make this into a short :)
There are people in the TH-cam channel growing niche that are telling people to go to the most popular channels in your niche and copy them. That's why this is going to keep happening.
THANK you

Killer outro 🔥 The spice for justice is strong with this one ❤

''Come up with your ideas'' Thats what I commented on copy videos

I’ve had some of my YT shorts taken and uploaded on Tiktok
Always feel free to send names my way. PRF always needs fuel.
Findlay someone is standing up for the people that get there content stole
It’s what I like least about TH-cam. I CONSCIOUSLY make sure we are different. Maybe to our detriment but at least it’s original haha😂.
The B3 literally just his Olympics video stole by one Of those Contant farms it really just makes me mad the people go around find these bigger TH-camrs and steal their contact just reviews
Not again... 😂
Do you have a link?
hi b3
Bro is right people loves copieng videos of famous youtubers😢 so annoying

I make funny moments, it’s not different but I find it’s fun to edit and watch and to me that is what’s most important
I knew Caleb was chill like that
Inspiration is good, but be you, not other TH-camrs. It takes time, but if you trust in the process and find your own style, you'll go far on the platform
What do you use to edit your videos?
It is an outrageous act. But Lego content is what I watch but... Is there any "original content"? That means you're doing something good.

people in LAN are shills💯

So far I have been credited the few times it was used😊
Is it wrong that I REALLYYYY want to know who stole your (undoubtably awesome) idea 0:58
Love the vid Caleb, you are so chill and I love that
good man. If i see it ima call it out
They were a bit of a problem before Covid, but ever since Covid in with the popularity of Lego ballooning they been such a bigger issue now Especially with the advent of AI
Cough cough coconut bricks studios using the blue background LOL no hate to him just noticed that.
It really frustrates me. There are so many videos with the same stile of thumbnail and everyone copies everyone so you have no idea who even started it.
You forgot to credit your inspiration for this video :P Real talk tho this topic gets me fired up
Why do big lego people have to be copy cats Im better of being original and just being me
Sick Vid Caleb!
IDGAF about this.
wow wow. stole the idea of people stealing. wow
🫡cool video
Content theft definitely is frustrating and annoying. But at the same time when someone steals my video ideas, styles, or topics it tells me I’m doing something right that other people aren’t
I don't know for sure, but I could be the OG of LEGO store/shopping videos... there seems to be a lot of creators riding that now.
Because apparently you created the concept of shopping for lego
I feel like they talk about it in their own group chat lol
