      The PI5 have a warm sound with massive bass and smooth treble which is rolled off a bit too soon. Mids and vocals could be a tad more forward too.

    That's worrying actually that you said the Sony XM4s were the loudest of the bunch. I recently bought the XM4s and returned them in a day when I found the max volume quite low. Maybe I like my music loud but it felt very boring to listen to. I currently listen to Galaxy Buds Live and while the XM4s have an infinitely better sound and ANC, I just get underwhelmed by the max volume. I don't feel the music, it's just there. The max volume of the XM4s is like 80% volume of the Galaxy Buds Live. And this review says that the other earphones are less louder than the XM4s
    That's a bit worrying. I saw another review on TH-cam and even confirmed with the reviewer that the PI7s are definitely louder than the XM4s. Which is true.
    All in all very good and informative review. You have a new subscribera

  • @halo-halo9244
    @halo-halo9244 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, this is how people should do a review. Also that button feature is nice to know. I keep on always comparing my Galaxy Buds+ to other earbuds especially the functionality where you can control volume, ambient sound, play, pause, skip track, go back track and also open spotify through just a tap of the buds. Not to mention the long battery life. Sure it doesn't have an ANC, but passive noise cancelation makes up for it and when you turn the volume up you can barely here anything. Call quality is good too. Decent bass as well. Now I'm looking for a new replacement but can't find one with the same features, but I'm eyeing on this XM4 by Sony. Unfortunately the call quality sucks and I do decent amount of calls everyday. I guess you can't have them all.

      @AndysTechTone  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never had a chance to A/B test the XM4 and the Airpods Pro but the Sony buds can beat the Apple buds in most areas except for their comfort maybe. But in terms functionality, ANC and sound quality the XM4 is the clear winner. Unless you are an avid Apple user because then the Airpods Pro can still offer some features that might make them a better choice.

    Dear Andy
    thanks a bunch for this very informative, interesting and professional review of the "Sony Mark 4".
    I have to confess, even though it’s very embarrassing that I haven’t used the Mark4 until now.
    And more than a week ago, I‘ve received them.
    It’s because what You‘ve mentioned in Your review, about which of the eartips to use.
    What really IMPRESSED ME THE MOST, that You‘ve emphasized the issue with the limited control-possibilities.
    I really hope, that Sony listens and will change that with a future firmware-update.
    Have a blessed weekend
    Greetings from Helvetia 🇨🇭

      @andrejstemmle606 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Me too, otherwise will these earbuds laying around on a shelf, but that’s NOT why I‘ve bought them for a very heavy prize.
      This weekend, I‘m gonna try the different eartips.
      Last question: I guess that the music needs to be playing, while trying the different eartips? To hear which eartip seals the most.
      Thank You so much, for Your kind help.
      Wish You and Your family stay healthy and have a relaxing weekend together

    • @AndysTechTone
      @AndysTechTone  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@andrejstemmle606 You better play some music with constant bass to hear if you loose some of it between trying the different tips. Also, you can try the sound leak test in the Headphones app, it might help you too.

    Great review! Would have been interesting to see your opinion, if trying out your everyday Jaybird ear-tips on the XM4s to get a more comfortable fit worked well. Love the look of these things. Can't believe it doesn't have multi-point Bluetooth connect though!

    • @AndysTechTone
      @AndysTechTone  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, glad you like it 😎 Don't know what you mean by Jaybird eartips but you could try (almost) any eartips with (almost) any earbuds, I don't see the point. I tested the XM4 as they come in the box and I wasn't happy with their new foam tips. I'm sure they are comfortable with any regular tips.
      I wasn't sure about the look at first but it kind of grows on you, so yeah, I like them too.
      Regarding multipoint. Are there any earbuds other than Jabra which actually have proper multipoint use? I see everybody is complaining about the omission of the feature but I don't see any other manufacturer doing it either.

      I mean, Flossy is a completely different type of youtuber/reviewer. He's more of an entertainer while Andy here seems more like a real reviewer with a more professional aesthetic.
      Flossy has a bit of rough charm and he makes reviews that are easy even for the "normies" to understand. I also like his just super simple setup too with just a table, the products, and White Shoes! I don't go for him to know much of the technical or musical abilities of a headphone, but he usually does rate earbuds pretty fairly, and he doesn't only like bass cannons (he had the Technics AZ70 pretty high on his list even though they're more clean and somewhat neutral) despite being a bass head.
      I think there's room for both styles on youtube and I hope that Andy can grow to the numbers that Flossy have and more, but I still feel like Flossy deserves the subscribers he has and I don't find it strange that people find his style appealing.

      Update: I tried them out and overall I’m pleased with them happy with my purchase . The sound default setting sounds good definitely worth a upgrade if you have like apple AirPods Pro or galaxy buds. But the awesome and amazing sound is when you can adjust it your liking more bass, or treble or less and more voice , whatever you want 😃! I change it when I’m listening to music as opposed to when I am watching a show or a movie . Really think that features goes a long way. Now the noise canceling is without a doubt superior really good Bose and these are head to head it all will come down to your environmental surroundings. They also of 360 sound so basically like AirPods have the spatial mode well these have 360 sound . Overall I can see how these are the whole package and I don’t need to worry about another pair for the next maybe 3 years or idk each year there’s something new 😂👍

    Great review! The Sonys definitely offer a lot in terms of features, sound and tech, but I fear they're likely going to be very uncomfortable for my ears. They look like they're too big and will probably put pressure on my ears and make them ache after half an hour at most, plus you mentioned the polyurethane tips also gave you discomfort, which will most likely be the same for me as I bought a pair of Shure SE215 in the past and never again used them because of their shape which put pressure on my ears and hurt after about 10-15 minutes and the same tips as the sony were very uncomfortable. With that said, why are you always saying no? It's like your head is on a swivel lol.

      Yeah, they are packed with smart features yet everyone complains about what's missing. We won't see aptX on a Sony product any soon, that's a fact. And I don't know any other earbuds that have proper multipoint use other than Jabra. Apple and Samsung products work within their own respective ecosystems only, so those don't count. Or at least I count them out. Noise cancelling is amongst the best on the XM4 with or without the foam tips. So is battery life. What I don't like that much are the controls, the fit and the sound but everything is customisable to the teeth...
      It's impossible to please everyone and Sony knows that. Well, even I know that! Under my LifeQ35 review everyone asked me about the XM4 review. Now it's out and they started to ask me about the Vista 2... 😁
