In my case no engineer survives on the other side of the small city which forces me to go in from the front and that side is untakible 7:53

Whats the point of having Vega's base withouth energy for 20 minutes? The turret lasers still shoot at me in the next mission.

You can use air units because Vega's air defenses will be disabled.

Also if you you ignore this mission you have to use small squad of infantry WITHOUT MEDIC to destroy sam sites around the land side in next mission. And most importantly what i learned from my experience. You need to destroy the dam with destroying control buildings, if you destroy the dam itself consider that the mission has failed and in the next mission you will have to destroy the sam sites, despite the fact that the mission said about destroying the dam by any means
