I'm so glad you bring up DW5 Lu Bu he's beyond ridicilous, his C1 is unblockable fire attack that launch enemy into air set enemy up for nasty follow up combo and no explaination needed for his C2, he also hit as hard as heavy hitter like Xu zhu but still as fast as zhao yun and to top it all of he run as fast as generic horse
Zhou Yu has always been my favorite character since DW3 and when he switched to the staff I was suspect at first but my friend who got 6 was like no dude just play him.(noted my favorite weapons are swords ⚔️ any game) I was astonished 😯 I was like holy shit now he’s fast with range. Glad to see his weapon so high on list.
Zhou Yu and Zhang Liao are the weapon changes from classic to modern Dynasty Warriors that I think really work. I was apprehensive at first but grew to really appreciate them. I'd love if for DW10 they'd bring back the option of the old weapons for characters who have changed weapons like Gan Ning having the option of the River Master or the Sickle & Chain
I think my favourites across the entire series are Bao Sanniang's Spinner, Ma Dai's Paint Brush, and Sun Quan's sword combos from both 5 and 8 are super underrated, he hits like a truck in 5.
Fun Fact: Cao Pi dual blade in dynasty warriors 5 has a special/secret attack that other characters don't have and must use evolutionary weapons (3/4th weapon with blue stats) Cao Pi will attack using a red/blood orb (not fire orb) like the first triangle attack the combo is (S,S,S,S,S,S,S,S,S,T) (S=Squere. T=Triangle) The tip is when the last squere combo finishes, press Triangle immediately
I remember first playing DW5 and playing Cao Pi and absolutely loving the Dual Blade. It's such a great mixture of speed and power. The combo strings and strong attacks are so amazing too. When DW8 brought back the Dual Blade I was so happy!! It was so good tohave the moveset back. It also just fits Cao Pi so well.
One of the wonderful things about this series is that someone else could make very different choices. I was like, where's Guan Yu, Gan Ning, Xiahou Dun, Guo Jia, etc.?
Yeah exactly! Most of my lists are pretty subjective, I would love to watch other videos from content creators who make similar content, I just really like the franchise
In DW5, but the cards later on sucks IMO.. I honestly wish they would combine the cards with the staff from DW9.. Something like Kanetsugu Naoe from Samurai Warriors
Oh god, this takes me back. DW3 was my introduction and as for my favourite character...it's a toss up between 4 characters. Sima Yi, Xiahou Dun, Gan Ning and Zhou Tai.
My first DW game was 4, and I was quickly fascinated by SSX and her chakrams cause I'd never heard or seen anything like that before. And to this day she's still my fave character and fave weapon set. (excluding her DW6 switch to a bow)
I'm surprised that not many people talk about the throwing knives. Spamming them is very fun, although they don't deal the best amount of damage. Harp is also pretty fun when on horseback. There's also the rapier (Liu Shan's first weapon) that has pretty quick attacks and Sun Jian's ringblade. Another weapon that seem to not be talked much is Liu Bei's dual swords. And interestingly, I also find Daqiao's wands fun. Also, Lu Bu's halberds are pretty fun in games where you can switch weapons. Its switch attack gives you a temporary attack and attack speed buff which allows you to wreak havoc on the battelfield.
For sure, with all of my lists being so subjective everyone's gonna have their personal faves, the ones you mentioned are definitely good weapons as well and then Lu Bu's was just menacing lmao
Throwing Knifes are good, but the lack of guard breaking moves and barely any knockdown makes it less effective on harder difficulties. Add induction in 8 though and you have the most broken weapon in the game, just spam light and stunlock everyone
This is what I like about the DW series, you can have one person that likes a large list of favorite weapons, and another person's favorites aren't even included. Some of my favorites that weren't in this list are: Lu Meng's Pike Xiaoqiao's Iron Fan Lu Lingqi's Cross Pike Bao Sanniang's Spinner Cheng Pu's/Zhang Fei's Cobra Pike Yueying's Dagger Axe Meng Huo's Pillar(DW6E) this weapon was so fun to use with the truespeed ability Then there is my all-time favorite, Sun Jian's Nine Ring Blade from DW8. I personally don't like any of the spear-type movesets, or one's like Yue Jin's, with a lot of jumping and flipping around.
My top 10 Dynasty Warriors weapons list 1. Halberd (Lu Bu)- put that weapon in Lu Bu’s hand and he becomes a living WMD 2. Green Dragon Crescent Blade (Guan Yu)- a weapon fitting for the God of War 3. Podao (Xiahou Dun)- why did Koei ditch the podao in Dynasty Warriors 6? 4. Dragon Spear (Zhao Yun)- an iconic weapon for DW’s poster boy 5. Blades of Justice and Virtue (Liu Bei)- gotta spread the creed of Shu Han, yo! 6. General’s Blade (Cao Cao)- a blade destined to rule the land, the northern half at least 7. Claws of Beauty (Zhang He)- it’s more of a ballet performance than a fight 8. Spear of Justice (Ma Chao)- whosoever embodies injustice shall be punished 9. Ringed Tiger Blade (Sun Jian)- a badass blade made for the 1st Great Tiger of Jiangdong 10. Double blade (Cao Pi)- just like Darth Maul, Cao Pi can be unpredicable in his offense
As for "Why change the padao?" I've been reading ROTK, and at least as of Chibi, Xiahou Dun was only portrayed with either a club or a spear. (So me giving him Zhang Fei's weapon as a secondary in 8 wasn't too far off.)
Good list. I’m personally a big fan of Zhuge Liange’s fan, Gan Ning’s sword, and believe it or not: Xu Zhu’s mace is AMAZING if you find ways to speed it up!!! I’d like to see more weapons lists!
Nice List again! here are 20 of my favs in no particular order. (btw I've only played DW4 5 7 and 8 and very very little of 9) Xu Zhu - quite unpopular right off the bat but he's really powerful, each swing of that club (especially when hitting multiple targets at once) might just be the most satisfying thing ever XD especially in DW4 when using the lightning orb. Lu Bu - Who doesn't enjoy playing him let's be real LOLL, The switch attack speed buff in 7and 8 makes it 10 times better. But DW4 has my fav moveset for him because of that first charge attack, the stabby-stabby one XD Zhao Yun - Poster boy for a reason man, Possibly my fav moveset in every game, very smooth and very powerful. Guan Yu - This guy is No Style and All Substance. His moves are very basic, nothing flashy but VERY effective, so powerful. Everytime I play him I feel like an actual God Of War LOLL, very epic to play is what I'm tryna say. Zhang Fei - Just as good as Guan Yu except more aggressive and just....fucking CHARGE INTO BATTLE!!!! Yu Jin (DW8XL) - I really like Yu Jin in the novel and when he was FINALLY a playable character I immediately love him. So much fun with the whole switching elements thing on his weapon. Zhang Liao - I do think the Crescent Blade suits his overall look more but I love the Twin Axes moveset just as much, both are super power and fun. Zhou Yu - I prefer his look with the Curve Sword in the older games but I like the Staff moveset just as much. Both of them fit him as kind of a more passive fighter/martial artist strategist guy. I love how he jumps all over the place as well XD Sun Jian (DW8) - His older moves with the regular sword was pretty good but The Nine Rings sword is so incredibly fucking badass and makes him THAT much more fun to play. Pang Tong (DW4-5) - His moveset in 8 is okay, but a lot more passive compared to his older ones. I love the third charge attacks on him where he does the cart-wheeling attack and goodness when every hit connects you can see an officer's soul leave their body, it is so satisfying XD. Sima Shi (DW8) - Love the Lightning Sword. so much fun and very powerful......yeah that's all I got to say for this one lol Wei Yan (DW4-5) - His newer one kinda feels a little too stationary so I definitely prefer his older ones where he straights up spins on the floor LOL Jiang Wei (DW8) - I've heard some people say this moveset is difficult to use and I get why, it took me a while to get it right but once I did it became so addicting. Ma Chao - Similar to Wei Yan I think his newer ones are a little bit too stationary. but he's not as bad as Wei Yan's case though so I got used to his moveset in 7and8. And especially with attributes like Induction or Explosive it becomes ridiculously powerful as well LOL. Though I'll still say I prefer his older movesets. Xiahou Yuan (DW8) - He was kinda lame in the older games so here in 8 he got like the best aspects of all his moves from prior games in one and that's AWESOME. Zhuge Liang (DW8) - Best version of Zhuge Liang. Cao Ren - Always thought his weapons looks very cool and it really suits his character. Very tough, very strong. Especially in DW4 where he basically plays very differently if you assign him with different orbs, which makes me have to learn to play him again and it made him very interesting to play everytime. Ding Feng (DW8) - Whoever came up with the idea of the Circle Blade as a weapon, I love you. This is easily the most fun "unique mechanic" of any character in DW8. Even more so than Yu Jin. I also love how strong it is if you actually time the attacks right. Guo Jia - When I first got DW8 I never really felt "Oh! I need to play Guo Jia"....until I played as him for the first time. Certainly not helped by the fact that I really enjoy playing Pool irl so this moveset became like.....my comfort moveset for a while XD. I just realized I got all the way here without talking about any female characters, which is a shame cause I really enjoy playing as a lot of them..... perhaps it's just because none of them are ever really my "go-to character", So the last one here will just be a female character for the sake of mentioning one, cause I really REALLY do like a lot of them and their characters. Guan Yinping - My fav moveset and (probably) my favourite female character as well. Love the final charge attack used in conjunction with her EX buff which just creates a huge tornado LOLLL. Incredibly fun and strong.
Heck yeahhh, love the list was such a fun read! I found myself nodding along to all of your explanations for each character you wrote haha, its cool to see everyone's favorite :)
You put Zhou Yu and his staff in this list. I really like that. He has always been my favorite character since the fighting game on PS1, and while I love his DW 2-5 sword to death (and was really worried about his change in DW6 while it was in development), I think they really went nuts with him when they gave him that bo staff, especially in DW7. Just a really fun weapon to use, and that C5 makes any difficulty much easier. EDIT: Another weapon I liked was the DLC rapier in DW7 that would eventually become Sima Shi's weapon in DW8. The DW7 DLC version was pretty strong and the slow down effect on the enemies lasted a crazy amount of time. It's still fun in DW8, but I really liked the DW7 version more.
Xingcai I would say is my go to. I'm defensive by nature and I love the classic pairing of Sword and shield. I even appreciate the attempt at keeping it eastern originally in 5 being a Fork and Shield. That being said, Cao Ren's Buckler Sword is a good second with Lianshi's Crossbow being third... I like crossbows.
@The Nightowl I've been a crossbow junkie for years. I make it work and in fact, make it a point of pride to tackle harder things with her and that bolt launcher of hers. So yeah I know but that ain't stopping me anytime soon 👍
Having started with DW5, I've been used to Zhou Yu with either the Ancient Sword or the Elder Sword. So, using him with a staff in later games took some getting used to, but to see he still had some finesse in his fighting style made it easy to adapt to. Cao Pi is another favorite, and his dual blade is a huge part of that. As he fights on the battlefield, it's like a dance with his style.
mmmm Zhou Yu has had all really good designs hard to choose a fave, except DW3 & DW7, Cao Pi mmmm I would say dw6 I liked the white on him, he looks good in dw9 too@@SmoothC92
Great list! I wish that Koei would bring back some of the old weapons for new characters; Gan Ning's daggers and sword, Ma Chao's great sword from DW6E, Cao Pi's long sword from DW6E, Sun Quan's fire sword, Huang Gai's club and shield, etc.
Pang Tong was definitely a favorite of mine he was number 2 behind Zhou Yun for played characters. Sun Ce's Tonfas had impact, those things were just fun to use and would make the most devastating smack noise Lu Xun's Twin Blades was also really cool. He had an awesome move set (I mostly played DW3-6 so i'm not super well versed in the later games) Xiahou Dun's Scimitar in the earlier games was fun to use, ha just had these insane sweeping moves that was really satisfying. At first I thought this video was literally going to be just the type of weapons like Straight Swords, Staves etc. And was thinking, doesnt Halberd just clear everything considering Lubu, Zhou Yun, Guan Yu all used some sort of Halberd.
Been watching a lot of your videos lately Loved that you mentioned that Pan Tong and Zhang Fei weapons. Pan Tong in DW8 is just too fun to play with, same goes for the serpent blade (which is kinda OP in empires 8) I also like the weird kinda whacky styles like that Menu Huo with the Steele that made its way back in DW8 XE And oh man. That Ma Chao before DW6 was phenomenal 🔥
I love the nunchaku and I’m surprised more people don’t! Like Ling Tong is literally known as the nunchuck guy because that style rules, in early games it gave you some of the highest speed in the game movement and attack wise and in later it’s still agile and juggles enemy’s with some ranged options. It rules! Can’t go wrong with Zhou Tai or Lu Bu tho Anyway my favorite samurai warriors weapon is Chosokabes guitar what’s yours?
Ling Tong's nunchaku was so op back in 5, and in 7 it's still really good. However idk why, but I don't like Guan Suo's moveset at all even though they shared the same weapon in 7, I think it's because of his kicks
Some of my favorate are: Lu Meng's pike (actual ji for the time period (lower rarity ones ofc), and, well, C1EX ftw xD), Yu Jin's trident (well it's more of a glaive as Guan Yu's, quite a unique machanic as well), Pang De's pole mace (the raw power in his moveset is just great, also kinda like his old dual pick style as well), and finally Deng Ai's revolving crossbow (his lance but capable of airstrike) And yeah, great list, especially Cao Pi's style, that was exactly why the young me got into this franchise back then xD
Hmmm what makes you prefer Zhang Liao’s DW5 movesets over Lu Meng’s cause they’re essentially clones (But ngl, I like the not quite clones in 5 it’s the right balance if they want to cut corners that’s also why WO3 movesets is extremely unique that way too)
Man I love your videos, can`t stoping watching. 4 to 7 where so ducking lit. Also love that you have guys like Sun Ce and Zang He. Thought don`t many people use them.
If i would have rank the weapon, this is how i would do it: 1. Xu Shu DW8 Blade & Dagger 2. Zhou Tai DW8 Blade 3. Lu Xun DW8 Swallow Blades 4. Wang Yi DW7 Sai (idk the name) 5. Wang Yi DW8 Emei Piercer 6. Yue Ying Blade Bow 7. Sima Yi DW6 Claws 8. Gan Ning DW5 River Blade 9. Xiao Qiao DW5 & dW8 Twin Fams 10. Zhang He DW5 & DW8 Claws 11. Zhuge Liamg DW6 & DW8 Fan 12. Zhen Ji & Diao Chan DW6 Whip 13. Cai Wenji DW8 Harp 14. Zhen Ji DW5 & DW8 Flute 15. Wang Yuanji Knives 16. Xun Yu DW8 17. Jia Chong DW8 Tomahawk 18. Yue Ying DW5 Pike thingy (DW7 & 8 butchered this weapon playstyle) 19. Guan Xing DW8 Wing Blade 20. Zhu Ran DW8 Bow
Some notable underated weapon moveset: Xiao Qiao's paired fan in DW8 Empire (only empire) and WO4. Her C2ex+air charged combo could rack up musou and rage meter in dw8 Empire ,musou and unity magic for WO4, at a ridiculous rate even without attribute enhancing her weapon. With attribute increasing her attack speed, you would be able to spam musou much sooner and spam unity magic in WO4.
Yes, in 8 Empire, she's much better to play as compared to 7-8 single fan moveset. Can't really say the same for Da Qiao though, I don't like that magic sticks moveset at all, her musous are terrible too, the only good thing imo is the jump attack can make you go faster than a horse
Number 9 I have to agree on visual affect! But the combo potential in 9 is insane! Depending on your reforge & accessories..add the jump while attacking and then cancel omg!
5. Gan Ning "Chain and Sickle" 4. Throwing Axes (forget his name) 3. Bao "Spinner" 2. Zhang Liao "Twin Axes" 1. Zhou Tai "Eastern Sword" Love the faster weapons. Especially Zhou Tai. Slice them up then flash around the area with the jump slash cancel. The EX move foe Zhang Liao makes you like superhuman fast also. Could spam that when in trouble. Probably have Xu Shu has an honerable mention with the Throwing Knives.
@@TheNightowlGaming they might not be the best overall, but I enjoy them the most. Haven't played since DW8 and WO4, since I hated DW9 almost instantly. Just ordered DW9E to try it again. Your channel gave me the itch back, and SW5 didn't cut it haha.
I've never been a fan of the batons and cutlasses and cao caos sword because they all feel far more effective in one on one fights.. if they'd bring back the duels that would make em feel far more viable to me.. the other weapon type I cannot stand is the giant lollipop club. I tend to lean more toward realistic, historically accurate weapons..curved swords and pole arms like halberds and spears.. I really miss Gan nings sword btw. Probably one of my favorite musous ever.
Yeah exactly Im also very pro historically accurate weapons, no rocket spear, no giant drill hammer or chain hammer that SHOOTS BULLETS?! They can make it work and not so goofy, but its on them
Bro, i've probably already mentioned this before but you should play samurai warriors. The movesets are even more unique compared to Dynasty warriors due to technological advancement of the game period and i'm sure you'd enjoy discussing about SW series in general.
Great list, i like that we share some favs like cao pi (goat), ma chao (best spear), sun ce, zhou yu, yue jin, wei yan, even pang tong lol. Just want to add some of my favs that not on the list: taishi ci twin club, lu xun twin blade, sima yi dw6 string claw, and i forgot which but one of zhang jiao's move set was pretty fun for me. I also liked dian wei axe and han dang short pike from dw8. They were my favs power type weapon alongside taishi ci.
@@TheNightowlGaming I'm actually just letting your top 10 playlist run while I drive around for work, and just got to the part where he's number 3 in popularity which also makes me happy. His sf costume is sick, I'm using him in wo3ude on my steam deck to grind up resources while building out the rest of the roster. Iaido is a super cool style that would be insanely impractical in 1v1000 but it looks awesome as a video game style
nice list,,, do you play warriors games on pc or consoles ? i play them on pc,, my little 16gm ram laptop its no super powerful but can run them perfectly at 60fps , including dw9 lol,, also i'm not a person that usually likes keep cracked games but for warriors games i have to ,, whenever i feel a little streesed,i put on a battle , run trough 1000s of enemies and it calms me down
this is probably an unpopular opinion but I loved Sima Yi's whip gloves from DW6. I was always a Sima Yi hardcore fan before 6 but I just loved how ridiculous and impossible the whip claws were. I'm also a queer drag performer so that might be part of the reason why I loved them because they were really camp!
Meanwhile Dynasty Warriors Online: Go create your own weapon style from DW5 DW7 DW8 that never exist in any other DW titles all weapons have at least 10 extra Editable Attacks animations to suit player's preference. Still playing this game because of this feature
@@TheNightowlGaming I will make a video about Lu Bu's Halberd from DW5 and DW8 which both have more than 10 extra animations you never seen before in any DW titles. DWOZ server still up and running nicely
In DW8 empire and wo4, you can stun lock enemy officer by spamming C1 or C3 and clear crowds with c4-1. And her musou mad dasher is the most OP as it could 1 shot defeat multiple musou armour buffed enemy officer and clear crowds at the same time.
Say their names correctly like in dynasty warriors 2-5, not sao sao, not sun suh, not zhang huh, but cao cao (cow cow), sun ce (soon say), zhang he (zang he).
Pre watching thoughts: let's see what sausage fest this is Post video commentary: yup, sausage fest lol. You really don't like the traditionally feminine characters, huh. Anyway only moveset that I didn't expect was Pang Tong. His Musou was busted but that was his only attack that was busted. The rest of his moveset was incredibly unsafe and laggy, especially on higher difficulty levels where one or two stray hits could kill you. My favorite moveset you listed was Huang Zhong's twin fang bow hybrid. That was fun. I never got too into custom characters in Empires until DW6. That's the game that made custom officers fun for me and my dude was ALWAYS using SSX's bow. The thing in DW9 Empires that was hardest for me was no true bow moveset so I kinda gravitated back to Musou officers.
Yah it was butttt I did have Xianying and Wang Yi in there, those 2 ladies get it doneee. It's kinda about the "femininity" it's just cause its Dynasty Warriors, I gravitate towards warriors more than anything. And thats why I like certain characters more or the play styles, if they resemble more of a warrior with a good personality I gravitate towards them more. The bows never intrigued me because they never made enemies flinch after DW6, I think, so I stayed away from em! Appreciate you 😁🙏
@@TheNightowlGaming actually I just had a thought at 6am. If your power fantasy is being a badass warrior, then being a 16 year old girl who casually drops fireballs on her foes like it's nothing is one hell of a power flex, just sayin
@@TheNightowlGaming I'm a fan of weapons that hit fast and/or hard. Yuangi's knives are ridiculously OP and the flying swords are so much fun to play with
Ma Chao on a horse was ridiculous.
HE WAS BROKE ON A HORSE
Committing war crimes on a horse is crazy
I'm so glad you bring up DW5 Lu Bu he's beyond ridicilous, his C1 is unblockable fire attack that launch enemy into air set enemy up for nasty follow up combo and no explaination needed for his C2, he also hit as hard as heavy hitter like Xu zhu but still as fast as zhao yun and to top it all of he run as fast as generic horse

I love the cards in any game they’re in. A top pick.

My top 10 Dynasty Warriors weapons list
1. Halberd (Lu Bu)- put that weapon in Lu Bu’s hand and he becomes a living WMD
2. Green Dragon Crescent Blade (Guan Yu)- a weapon fitting for the God of War

Yeah they had an interesting moveset
Zhao Tai weapon is S tier
💯💯
Cao pi double darth maul style sword in DW 5 is my personal favourite, always using that in my empires custom officer.
thats why I like cao pi too, darth maul is so sick and then a DW character had it, awesomeness
Shangxiang's Chakrams alongside Diaochan former Dual Mace also my fav even now I prefer Diaochan with Chain Whip instead
Nice!
I really like the weapon that they choose for Sima Yi for Dynasty warriors 6. Its so unique
Definitely different!
And then his wife took it, but man it's still a very good crowd control weapon
I can’t believe you picked Cao Pi, over Zhou Tai. Anyways thank you, I really enjoyed this video. It’s cool how we all share the same childhood memory

I love how he jumps all over the place as well XD
Sun Jian (DW8) - His older moves with the regular sword was pretty good but The Nine Rings sword is so incredibly fucking badass and makes him THAT much more fun to play.
Pang Tong (DW4-5) - His moveset in 8 is okay, but a lot more passive compared to his older ones. I love the third charge attacks on him where he does the cart-wheeling attack and goodness when every hit connects you can see an officer's soul leave their body, it is so satisfying XD.
Sima Shi (DW8) - Love the Lightning Sword. so much fun and very powerful......yeah that's all I got to say for this one lol
Wei Yan (DW4-5) - His newer one kinda feels a little too stationary so I definitely prefer his older ones where he straights up spins on the floor LOL
Jiang Wei (DW8) - I've heard some people say this moveset is difficult to use and I get why, it took me a while to get it right but once I did it became so addicting.
Yeah the lightning sword for sima shi was so good, zhou yu's staff is among my fave, glad u liked it!
Wow Lianshi crossbow idk if you seen my analysis of her, but the crossbow was tough to use, but thats interesting Cao Rens cool
Nice two of my faves too
@@TheNightowlGaming do you have a favorite design for either of them?
mmmm Zhou Yu has had all really good designs hard to choose a fave, except DW3 & DW7, Cao Pi mmmm I would say dw6 I liked the white on him, he looks good in dw9 too@@SmoothC92
Great list!
I wish that Koei would bring back some of the old weapons for new characters; Gan Ning's daggers and sword, Ma Chao's great sword from DW6E, Cao Pi's long sword from DW6E, Sun Quan's fire sword, Huang Gai's club and shield, etc.
Yeah they have some many options for unique weapons, they just need the passion to do it
I don't know why I can't feel comfortable with Cao Pi's dual blade weapon.
Everyone got their preference just always thought it was cool!
Pang Tong was definitely a favorite of mine he was number 2 behind Zhou Yun for played characters.
Sun Ce's Tonfas had impact, those things were just fun to use and would make the most devastating smack noise
Lu Xun's Twin Blades was also really cool. He had an awesome move set (I mostly played DW3-6 so i'm not super well versed in the later games)
Xiahou Dun's Scimitar in the earlier games was fun to use, ha just had these insane sweeping moves that was really satisfying.
At first I thought this video was literally going to be just the type of weapons like Straight Swords, Staves etc. And was thinking, doesnt Halberd just clear everything considering Lubu, Zhou Yun, Guan Yu all used some sort of Halberd.
Nice some good choices! Yeah these are my faves!
Been watching a lot of your videos lately
Loved that you mentioned that Pan Tong and Zhang Fei weapons.
Pan Tong in DW8 is just too fun to play with, same goes for the serpent blade (which is kinda OP in empires 8)
I also like the weird kinda whacky styles like that Menu Huo with the Steele that made its way back in DW8 XE
And oh man.
It rules!
Can’t go wrong with Zhou Tai or Lu Bu tho
Anyway my favorite samurai warriors weapon is Chosokabes guitar what’s yours?
I just got into SW so im learning all about them right now!
Ling Tong's nunchaku was so op back in 5, and in 7 it's still really good.
However idk why, but I don't like Guan Suo's moveset at all even though they shared the same weapon in 7, I think it's because of his kicks
Ling Tongs Nunchaku and 3 Section Staff are the best Dynasty Warriors weapons hands down
Some of my favorate are: Lu Meng's pike (actual ji for the time period (lower rarity ones ofc), and, well, C1EX ftw xD), Yu Jin's trident (well it's more of a glaive as Guan Yu's, quite a unique machanic as well), Pang De's pole mace (the raw power in his moveset is just great, also kinda like his old dual pick style as well), and finally Deng Ai's revolving crossbow (his lance but capable of airstrike)
And yeah, great list, especially Cao Pi's style, that was exactly why the young me got into this franchise back then xD
Haha nice! Great choices!
After seeing a few vids from your channel, decided to subscribe.. you just made me feel nostalgic.. I'll play dw5 & dw6 again later hahaha..
Heck yeah!! Hope you been enjoying the vids and appreciate the sub!
Another solid list, so good 🔥🔥
😆😆
Hmmm what makes you prefer Zhang Liao’s DW5 movesets over Lu Meng’s cause they’re essentially clones
(But ngl, I like the not quite clones in 5 it’s the right balance if they want to cut corners that’s also why WO3 movesets is extremely unique that way too)
His 2 and 5 were big AOE attacks so easy to clear ppl
Man I love your videos, can`t stoping watching.
4 to 7 where so ducking lit.
Also love that you have guys like Sun Ce and Zang He. Thought don`t many people use them.
Ayeee!! Glad you're enjoying the content, there's plently of it on my channel! Appreciate it!
I see you are a Man of Culture in your Weapon Styles.
Of course 😎😎
If i would have rank the weapon, this is how i would do it:
1. Xu Shu DW8 Blade & Dagger
2. Zhou Tai DW8 Blade
3. Lu Xun DW8 Swallow Blades
4. Wang Yi DW7 Sai (idk the name)
5. Wang Yi DW8 Emei Piercer
6. Yue Ying Blade Bow
7. Sima Yi DW6 Claws
8. Gan Ning DW5 River Blade
9. Xiao Qiao DW5 & dW8 Twin Fams
10. Zhang He DW5 & DW8 Claws
11. Zhuge Liamg DW6 & DW8 Fan
12. Zhen Ji & Diao Chan DW6 Whip
13. Cai Wenji DW8 Harp
14. Zhen Ji DW5 & DW8 Flute
15. Wang Yuanji Knives
16. Xun Yu DW8
17. Jia Chong DW8 Tomahawk
18. Yue Ying DW5 Pike thingy (DW7 & 8 butchered this weapon playstyle)
19. Guan Xing DW8 Wing Blade
20. Zhu Ran DW8 Bow
Solid list !
Some notable underated weapon moveset:
Xiao Qiao's paired fan in DW8 Empire (only empire) and WO4.
Damn thats dope, definitely underrated
Yes, in 8 Empire, she's much better to play as compared to 7-8 single fan moveset.
Can't really say the same for Da Qiao though, I don't like that magic sticks moveset at all, her musous are terrible too, the only good thing imo is the jump attack can make you go faster than a horse
Number 9 I have to agree on visual affect! But the combo potential in 9 is insane! Depending on your reforge & accessories..add the jump while attacking and then cancel omg!
Yezzzirr!
5. Gan Ning "Chain and Sickle"
4. Throwing Axes (forget his name)
3. Bao "Spinner"
2. Zhang Liao "Twin Axes"
1. Zhou Tai "Eastern Sword"
Love the faster weapons. Especially Zhou Tai. Slice them up then flash around the area with the jump slash cancel. The EX move foe Zhang Liao makes you like superhuman fast also. Could spam that when in trouble. Probably have Xu Shu has an honerable mention with the Throwing Knives.
nice surprised you didnt have lu bu dw8 with his switch mechanic, gan ning is an interesting choice!
They can make it work and not so goofy, but its on them
LU BU IS EVERYTHING
He's a beast!
Bro, i've probably already mentioned this before but you should play samurai warriors. The movesets are even more unique compared to Dynasty warriors due to technological advancement of the game period and i'm sure you'd enjoy discussing about SW series in general.
Defnitely need to get around playing them
My favourite weapon styles:
- Talisman Card (DW8 Zuo Ci)
- Shaman Rod (DW7-9 Zhang Jiao)
- Art of War Scroll (DW8 Chen Gong)
- Horsehair Whip (DW8 Sima Yi)
- Chain Whip (DW7-8 Diaochan)
- Urumi / Steel Sword Whip (DW9 Xun You)
- Crossed Pike (DW8 Lu Lingqi)
- Wired Glove (DW8 Zhang Chunhua)
- Feather Fan (DW7-8 Zhuge Liang)
- Trishula (DW7 Wang Yi)
- Emei Piercer (DW8 Empires and DW9 DLC Wang Yi)
- Bow (DW7-8)
- Crossbow (DW7-8 Lianshi)
- Bladebow (DW8 Empires Yueying)
- Flute (DW9 DLC Zhenji)
- Dual Dao-Bow / Tooth & Nail (DW9 DLC Huang Zhong)
- Claws (DW7-9 Zhang He)
- Flying Swords (DW7-8 Zhong Hui)
- Harp (DW7-8 Cai Wenji)
- Mandarin Duck Hooks (DW9 Lianshi)
- Bladed Yo-yo (DW7-8 Bao Sanniang)
- Throwing Dagger (DW7-9 Wang Yuanji)
- Arm Cannon (DW7-8 Guo Huai)
- Revolving Crossbow (DW8 Empires Deng Ai)
- Pugil Sticks (DW8 Daqiao)
- Paired Fans (DW6 Xiaoqiao)
- Iron Fan (DW7 Daqiao)
Solid list!
That intro was straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Appreciatw it very much!
Heck yeah! some great choices and there's so many to choose from!
Glad to see Zhou Tai get second, as the video went on I was getting hopeful to see him in 1st
he aint got many haters!
@@IThinkIStoleYourSandwich haha thats awesome! Glad youre enjoying the content!
Really cool intro video
Appreciate it!!
Good vid but I gotta disagree with you on zhuge dans weapon. Couldn't stand it personally.
Appreciate the kind words, everyone got they faves!
Zhen Ji flutes is the best imo
Haha that makes sense since you love the ice cold duo!
@@TheNightowlGaming I do
I love Zhugeliang's laser fan
*laser noise*
My personal favorites have always been Xiaoqiao's twin fans and Wang Yuanji's throwing knives.
Nice!
No way dude !!
Yueying's dagger axe was chopping up mobs and masters like celery sticks for dip on date night bro, lol!!
Definitely a solid one! One of the best female weapons just not a top 20 for meh 😁
Since liu bei switch to two sword in dw6 he became my favorite character
Nice!
seems like you love polearms so much.
i agree that polearms are more effective on war than other weapons.
They are some of my faves
You gotta make if you haven’t already a worst weapons list. #1 is Liu Chans bench thing, #1 is also Huang Gai’s boat canoe thing
Thats a great idea 💡
Non playable officer after getting their ass beat: “I will return after reviewing my strategy 😊(😠😭)”
😂
Broooo where the heck is Gan Ning's ball and chain? Easily top 3 for me, him and Wei Yan on DW8 are so powerful
Wow an uncommon liking to Gan Ning's Ball and Chain style, I 100% respect it but it was never a weapon that drew me
@@TheNightowlGaming ohh man when you got into it you could cause absolute carnage with that ball and chain! Haha
@@rickybilku Haha I believe it, he was fun to use just not a fave :)
Definitely top 3 I agree. Sun quan's in dw8 was good as fuck and pair well
No Guan Ping dragon sword!? That thang so cold 🥶
He's aiight hehe 😁
I've found that my like or dislike with Ma Chou is based on how his first 3 quicks feel to me. Guan Yu always feels right.
Thats dope, ma chao always been a beast
nice list,,, do you play warriors games on pc or consoles ? i play them on pc,, my little 16gm ram laptop its no super powerful but can run them perfectly at 60fps , including dw9 lol,, also i'm not a person that usually likes keep cracked games but for warriors games i have to ,, whenever i feel a little streesed,i put on a battle , run trough 1000s of enemies and it calms me down
Haha I can relate, definitely one of the games I play to relax and I play them on consoles 🤙
Zhou Tai and Ma Chao for me.
Ma Chao's musou spam attack can clear a whole crowd.
Great move sets
Great sword main here. Fu Xi, Guan Ping, Xiahou Ba all day.
Thats awesome, respect!
Do a largest army
And strongest army
hmmm Ill think about it! Might not be a bad idea!
this is probably an unpopular opinion but I loved Sima Yi's whip gloves from DW6. I was always a Sima Yi hardcore fan before 6 but I just loved how ridiculous and impossible the whip claws were. I'm also a queer drag performer so that might be part of the reason why I loved them because they were really camp!
Nice! Definitely an unpopular choice, but I respect it! Thats whats great about this game, everyones got their faves
They did Zhou Yu dirty when they changed it to the Staff. Elder Sword for life.
Staff for life the moveset is so much better 👀
Emcei Piercers were better animated in DW8 Empires
They were pretty dope
Meng Huo in DWE6E has mushrooms, palm trees and a giant pillar.
Yah the big PILLAR!
I never really "got" the javelin. The area of impact just seemed so narrow, leaving you open to attack unless you were extremely careful.
True! I just like the effect of it, it was always powerful but still finesse in a way too
Meanwhile Dynasty Warriors Online:
Go create your own weapon style from DW5 DW7 DW8 that never exist in any other DW titles
all weapons have at least 10 extra Editable Attacks animations to suit player's preference.
Still playing this game because of this feature
Never got to play it!
@@TheNightowlGaming I will make a video about Lu Bu's Halberd from DW5 and DW8 which both have more than 10 extra animations you never seen before in any DW titles.
DWOZ server still up and running nicely
I like huang gais boat in 8 lol
defiitely interestign
I just got a ps2 just so i can play dynasty warriors i missed that game
Let sgo!
The emeichi piercers are also in 8 empires
Yeah I think I just never used em so I didnt know how awesome they were until 9 lol
In DW8 empire and wo4, you can stun lock enemy officer by spamming C1 or C3 and clear crowds with c4-1.
And her musou mad dasher is the most OP as it could 1 shot defeat multiple musou armour buffed enemy officer and clear crowds at the same time.
Unpopular opinion but i loved Zhou Yu when he had a sword, DW5 was somethig else
I dont think that's too unpopular I think most like him w the sword, staff just too good imo
Zhou Tai!
The beast! 🔥🔥
i prefer zhou tai. Great choice
so fun
I'll buy 13 weapons now
So Where is Guan Yu weapon?
On someone elses list 😅 nah he had a cool weapon for sure, but for me I found others more fun!
Gan ning or ling tong?
Strength: Gan Ning
Weapon Style: I give the edge to Ling Tong
Wang Yuanji in dw 7 and 8 is broken, especially warriors orochi 3 with those throwing knives
No guan yu's weapon? It's so OP!!!
Not one of my faves 😁😁
zhou tai remind me to zaraki kenpachi >_
Give Zhou yu his cool ass sword back
staff > sword 👀😁
LUBU
🔥
Say their names correctly like in dynasty warriors 2-5, not sao sao, not sun suh, not zhang huh, but cao cao (cow cow), sun ce (soon say), zhang he (zang he).
Oh yeah totally my bad bro XD side note: it took me forever to say sun quan names correctly lmao
@@TheNightowlGaming now re do all your videos and say their names correctly by american alphabet
A sub from me, as well.
Appreciate it very much!
ling tong? spear is klise bro -_-
musao.
Aye! Joshscorcher says it like that too 👀👀😎😎
Pre watching thoughts: let's see what sausage fest this is
Post video commentary: yup, sausage fest lol.
Appreciate you 😁🙏
@@TheNightowlGaming you know what woman gets shit done? Zhurong
@@TheNightowlGaming actually I just had a thought at 6am. If your power fantasy is being a badass warrior, then being a 16 year old girl who casually drops fireballs on her foes like it's nothing is one hell of a power flex, just sayin

a fan of aerial type weapons eh
@@TheNightowlGaming I'm a fan of weapons that hit fast and/or hard. Yuangi's knives are ridiculously OP and the flying swords are so much fun to play with
