    A better question would be,
"Have you heard of all the amazing stuff that Chumbawamba as a band actually did BEFORE that hit record?"
The stuff they continue to do now as individual's.
They really left a mark on me back somewhere around 1990. My own history features Chumbawamba, which is why I'm still watching occasionally their stuff and commenting here on YT.
I feel really privileged to have seen them a few times live around the time of Slap in small intimate venues. Where they would hang around after and invite people to come and chat with them.
I wish I could relive that set from that time, just one more time. Take my kids, and my grandchildren along and have a blast with them again.
    Thank you all. ❤️❤️

I never had any idea they were so radical. I love them even more. I want to hear more of their songs.

Start with ANARCHY, then TUBTHUMPER, then SWINGIN WITH RAYMOND and WYSIWYG.... the list is endless but for me they're the 4 best albums.

Great band I grew up in Leeds so I got to see them loads in the 80s

They were radical but definitely not Marxist. As most anarcho punk bands in the early 80's, they'd say left/right flip sides of the same coin. Great, great live band.

They were only a one-hit-wonder for people who didn't get it. They had more than 30 albums, all of which were rad! But, good on OP for giving the history :)

where are you getting that 30+ number from? wikipedia only lists 16 of them so if there's more music i'd love to hear it :)

They've not vanished. 2.5 million people on Spotify listen to them. I'd say that's not vanished. Also - give good ship lifestyle a listen to. It's an absolute banger.

Chumbawumba had been around for years before that song was released.

Exactly! That's why I started this series. To shed light on the massive career many "one hit wonders" had that people never knew about.

I listen to them since their first LPs and there is always a handful of their songs in my playlists, definitely not one hit wonder

Tubthumping is one of their worst songs, I saw them live many times, one of the most entertaining and flexible live bands I've seen and I've been to lots of gigs! They would wear multiple costumes and continue playing throughout costume changes flawlessly

Agree! And: I saw them several times life, also some years after the "hit" when they were refusing to play that song again (sometimes people from the audience were asking for it). They even made fun themselves of that song and this "one hin wonder" thing, for example in the lyrics of "torturing james hettfield" where it is about using chumbawambas "greatest hits (there´s only one)" as a torture :-).

That's an eye-opener. I always pictured them looking like Beck or Weezer, since all the Goths and anarchists were actually listening to bands like Marilyn Manson and Prong.

This is actually a video about how they aren't a one hit wonder. It goes into their whole career. Great band.

Adam Carolla has a great story about meeting these anarchists - they were far Left of Lenin. Kooky ideas.

@stojce55 they weren't rich. I guess it's it's easy being right wing when you're clueless.

Lol that’s the most false comment I’ve ever read. Some of the most successful musicians ever are political, Bob Dylan, woodie Guthrie, public enemy, rage against the machine, Dead Kennedys, Green Day, System of a Down the list goes on

Just realized this channel only has 20 subs. There's a lot more polish here than I would've assumed, but one thing I noticed was there was a couple of voice lines where you messed up and left it in. I know it may not seem like a big deal overall, but if you took the time to re-record those few lines it would make the video feel much more polished. Other than that, love the content! Just giving constructive feedback because I know you can improve!
