this game kicked my arse as a kid and it still kicks it now, difficult but great game. gotta love that breaking the sound barrier effect, gives you a sense of speed not found in other racers.
You... and me... both... Like... I'd be happy with just an HD remake of this with some online multiplayer... and oh em gee online co-op career! YES YES YES!
+ricochet188 I wholeheartedly agree! This is a game that could be made into a decent series. Either create a new game or remake it. But to make it much better add a story to it, as well as multi-player. I think a storyline for the career mode, maybe something with each character, with good drama would really add so much depth and intrigue. A lot of elements could be incorporated into one- romance with someone from another team, your teammate defecting to another team through choice of your actions on and off the track.. Even strange ones like helping a rival team win a race or possible death of a character, your team or otherwise. XGRA had something going by adding personality to the characters and having a "bounty" thing and that could even be improved. Add that to the story in a remake which could potentially change how other characters react to you. There is a lot that could be done to this game. Adding to that, have customizable options such as color and/or design of your bike and wheels with options for light trails, different outfits for the racers With today's video game tech doing this should be easy. While I don't think it would be a blockbuster (as much as I want it to be) it would still be something a lot of people would pick up. And as for achievements, they should be made just easy enough so that everyone would be able to acquire all of them. For god sakes, I would not want to see one requiring you to win every race in every class like WipeOut HD had! That was way too ridiculous to achieve.
Man this just brought back MEMORIES. The map with the big ass loop was my favorite especially using a full nitrous😭. Me and my brothers kicked ass in this one
My two favorite things in this game is breaking the sound barrier because the music just kinda washes out and pegging the speedometer. I love how it just glitches out because you're going too fast. The sense of speed in this game is great.
LOL. Oh, that’s right. I remember why I love video games now. Because you can break the sound barrier and go 1,000+ mph in a land vehicle, physics be damned.
Imagine attending one of these 1250G races in real life... It would just sound like a high caliber rifle range, numerous sound barriers broken every few seconds. You'd definitely need heavy duty ear protection.
@Daniel well, it's not fair to compare the look of a PS2 game with a PS4 one, of course is going to look horrible, but between the PS2 and GC versions, the later is the best version, the graphics are slightly better than the PS2 and controls are more responsive, mostly because of the triggers, but either way the game is amazing. Both versions are worth playing since there isn't too much of difference between them.
@Daniel damn right, the 6th gen was one of the best, so many gems, and yes this kind of games wouldn't do well because companies would ruin them with microtransactions and services, just like Call of Duty, totally agree with you
According to reviews the games are the exact same except you can play 4 player split screen on GameCube. If there is any difference in the frame rate or visuals it's next to no difference at all.
Guy 1: yeah I crashed while riding my bike Guy 2: oh, how fast were you going? Guy 1: uh around 900 mph Guy 2: what?! Guy 1: yeah! my entire body exploded!
God this was a great game! I remember as a kid testing to how fast you could go doing absolutely nothing other than steer, and the bike hit 31 mph purely on exhaust coming out the back.
This one and Siris Canyon are my favorite. And yeah that's basically what made this game stand out to me. Breaking the sound barrier sounds so satisfying in this game.
Oooooh I kinda thought that's what you meant. I... unfortunately back in the day did not have anyone that would play this with me lol... I would really love online play for an HD version of this thing. It would be as you say... mad lol
One of the best games form my childhood. Me and my buddy would play this and not be able to blink so we would look like we were just sitting there crying looking at the TV. Good time. Best tears ever. Are eyes hurt so bad after each race. We would just wipe them a away and be like more.
i was so good at this game, something about fast racers i can do. i would have the track memorized in my head. this is one of the best fast racers, another that comes to mind is suzuki racing on dreamcast
I need this version of the game! I've got XGRA, for the old Xbox. But, really need this. Insane speeds! Love it. The song by the way, is: System F - Needlejuice
Funny thing is the track playing is Needlejuice by System F(Ferry Corsten) which if you listen carefully you hear 2 different tracks at the beginning and end of the song. Thats because likely Acclaim stole this track from a Trance compilation album called Trance Nation 2001 (5) disc 2 who the DJ mixing is Ferry Corsten.
Holy shit! I just bought this and I'm just now going to experience this amazing game!!! I have XGRA and the other 2 on n64. I just held off on this one for some reason. Now I'm sold! thanks man! another game to my Acclaim collection!! that and Re-volt! just came out on GOG!!
it's good to see an old game stretched to fit wide screen ratio. i appreciate the covering the black sides. doesn't make it look blurry and crap at all.
Unfortunately the company (Probe entertainment) that made that game ceased operations 20 years ago when Acclaim Entertainment declared bankruptcy.. There have been some interests in the revival of that game but there isn't any new news I'm afraid.
One of my favorite games of all time growing up, still disappointed that Nintendo has not tried to revive this yet, it would be a great game for the switch ( as well as ps4 and xbox one ) but i prefer to have it on the go lol
I only ever played Extreme-G 1 but this one also captures that feeling if speed as well. I’ve yet to find another game that feels as fast and responsive as Extreme-G.
Ah yes, that happened to me too. Once you go into a game like this, you never go back. GX did that to me. I imagine this one did the same thing for a lot of other people too.
JESUS!!! This is in the game?!! I can't beat the first league... I finally made it to the last race but I lost... I got the first speed upgrade but it unbought itself when I went out of the shop... do you have to beat the league before you can buy things?
Why wouldn't it tho? The music mutes when you break the sound barrier, which is what would actually happen irl since you're travelling faster than sound at that point. The only way you'd be able to hear the music is if you were in an enclosed cockpit with its own air. The effects of breaking the sound barrier would then only be experienced externally.
Oceania's also one of my favorite tracks along with Atradaitoshi and Megalopolis 7. I always wondered about the flash mortar weapon... I know it can be used to disorient players during multiplayer, but does it have any affect on the CPU riders?
this game kicked my arse as a kid and it still kicks it now, difficult but great game. gotta love that breaking the sound barrier effect, gives you a sense of speed not found in other racers.
Xtreme G, F-zero and Wipeout. All extremely polished examples of the genre. All offering something slightly different.
is it me or does this game still look good? I mean old but good.
It still looks good to me! Gamecube version is best too cause 60fps
I only had it for ps2; but still, a great game stays a great game.
Only cause of the soundtrack 😏😏😏😏😏😏
Best game that I ever played! Ever!
Imagine on PS5 👍
I long for this series to make a return!
You... and me... both... Like... I'd be happy with just an HD remake of this with some online multiplayer... and oh em gee online co-op career! YES YES YES!

You've put a lot of thought into this... I just want a game with bikes that break the sound barrier!
Yeah, there'd be a mode for that, too. :-)
we are getting closer, Extreme G2 has now been released on Steam
store.steampowered.com/app/582260/ExtremeG_2/
would also love an XG5
Man this just brought back MEMORIES. The map with the big ass loop was my favorite especially using a full nitrous😭. Me and my brothers kicked ass in this one
Wow, great race! Not many people understand just how difficult this game is, especially going that fast, and not exploding before the race is over.
word! you must have played this on console back in the days to recognize the great performance here. even made it look quite easy.😳
Shields Critical!
Me n my lil bro knows. On account we have been stuck at the first 2 levels and had to restart multiple times. I can still hear the "hey dj!".

the greatest game of all time. I have never experienced as insane of a fucking high as the first time I broke the sound barrier.
Imagine attending one of these 1250G races in real life... It would just sound like a high caliber rifle range, numerous sound barriers broken every few seconds. You'd definitely need heavy duty ear protection.
Not only that but the bikes will be blurred dots
best game on ps2 ever
it's on both, I played both and the best version is gamecube one, it looks better and plays better
Hands fukin down

Smashing the sound barrier like a boss!
This one and Siris Canyon are my favorite. And yeah that's basically what made this game stand out to me. Breaking the sound barrier sounds so satisfying in this game.
Atradaitoshi and Megalopolis 7 were my favs. Such an amazing game
When you no longer need to boost to break the sound barrier
Wow man you nailed it. Playing at this kevel at this speed and rocking your air brakes like that is no joke.
Oh my lorrd imagine if this had multiplayer it'd be so mad...
It *does* have multiplayer!
***** no I mean like online? I used to play 2 players with my cousin
Oooooh I kinda thought that's what you meant. I... unfortunately back in the day did not have anyone that would play this with me lol... I would really love online play for an HD version of this thing. It would be as you say... mad lol
Land mine spam would drive me nuts

The most underrated racing game ever made
i was so good at this game, something about fast racers i can do. i would have the track memorized in my head. this is one of the best fast racers, another that comes to mind is suzuki racing on dreamcast
Oooooo never played that
@@AmaZeroMmu th-cam.com/video/o2Bgo66zK1E/w-d-xo.html
ps4 needs this
Maaaaaaaaaaan if they'd announced an ultra HD version of this at E3... lol
And that is why the track Sector 8 in Asphalt 8: Airborne seem familiar...
Now ps5
I need this version of the game! I've got XGRA, for the old Xbox. But, really need this. Insane speeds! Love it. The song by the way, is: System F - Needlejuice
I remember I used to ride like that on the gamecube.
i remember playing this game as a kid in 1st-3rd grade. Omg the memories :O
So cute : )
perfect soundtrack
This stage alone got me having an adrenaline rush and it's just a video game! This game is sick!
Looks pretty dope. I grew up with XGII on N64 so this looks pretty sweet too!
Alrucards interesting. I always wondered why it seemed to change suddenly.
@@AmaZeroMmu th-cam.com/video/kCPDsNUVtUc/w-d-xo.html listen at 38:00.
Crazy to think this is the only game that captures that sense of speed, not even Modern games are able to do that
Holy shit! I just bought this and I'm just now going to experience this amazing game!!! I have XGRA and the other 2 on n64. I just held off on this one for some reason. Now I'm sold! thanks man! another game to my Acclaim collection!! that and Re-volt! just came out on GOG!!
gotta go fast 🤘
No game to this day captures this feeling of speed.
Hello F-Zero GX
@@comicszoneuniverse No way. I had XG3 and Fzero on my Gamecube. XG3 felt much faster.
it's good to see an old game stretched to fit wide screen ratio. i appreciate the covering the black sides. doesn't make it look blurry and crap at all.
The soundtrack on this game was 🔥!! They need to bring this game back!!!
Unfortunately the company (Probe entertainment) that made that game ceased operations 20 years ago when Acclaim Entertainment declared bankruptcy..

Cryptic Mind I also want this thing
This is so much better than Wipeout. Make a review, please!!
The sound + music is awesome
You can actually BREAK THE SOUND BARRIER!?
*Holy shit*
I’m ready for this to be remastered.
Saaaaaaaaaaaaame!
Needlejuice by System F too, such an amazing soundtrack to this game. Still play this track when I’m on the decks in the house 😂
My guy... this game is so difficult and you hitting almost 1000mph without exploading is insane, people dont understand how hard this games is
This was a dope ass game, used to play it a lot.
Song: "Needlejuice" by System F
Holy hell, I forgot how fast this game is.
I only ever played Extreme-G 1 but this one also captures that feeling if speed as well. I’ve yet to find another game that feels as fast and responsive as Extreme-G.
Try F-Zero :D
Redout 2 is pretty nuts. The level of control they give you plays a big factor. Plus you're constantly sacrificing your shields for more boost.
This NEEDS to be remade
Wipeout, SSX and XG3 were the reasons i got the ps2
Minimal wall kisses. Pretty good 👍👌😉😎
I didn't noticed the song credits its wrong, it says"System 7" but was System F (Ferry Corsten)
Huh never noticed that all these years lol
When youre so fast that you leave the music behind
This is one first game I ever played man🥺
Wish we would get a remake or remaster or just a brand new one lol such a savage game
Holy Tron movie, Sandra my friend.
I wish they would remaster this for PS4/PS5
this was one of my favourite tracks, song too.
Killer driving, well done
i remember i suck really bad at this, i kept getting thrown off track... falling to my death.
Den ersten tell auf N64 gespielt und das auch erst vor kurzem und jetzt will ich mir nur für den dritten Teil ne ps2 kaufen 😅🥺🔥
2024😢
You sir, did good!
AMAZING Skills
El Paco Machin u sure? amazing? ok at best IMO
As usual, the games I grew up with as a child WERE NEVER POPULAR. I’m going to guess Road Trip Adventure is the same problem.
I just got a e bike that goes 30mph. I only go 23mph because I get nervous going faster. I can’t imagine what I would do on one of these bikes
Try a 180hp 1000+ cc supersport motorcycle from the late 2010's. Now that is some adult fun right there.
Every racing game since feels slow
Ah yes, that happened to me too.
Once you go into a game like this, you never go back.
GX did that to me. I imagine this one did the same thing for a lot of other people too.
The SPEEEED
This was a good game, just I think the weapons could have been incorporated more like the older games
Hi, how can i play it? Because i have the original, but i want to play HD like the video. I tried with dolphin but i cant find playable rom.
Quel pilote.
This game beats any version of Mario Kart any day.
One day they will put a game like this on VR and you will puke ur brains out :)
I would to know if someone has done a not wall hit run while also getting first on all races.
If I wasn't addicted to Redout 2, I'd load it up right now to practice :D
Por que no tiran poderes como la primera? :(
ps5 graphic so beautiful
venom class in wipeout
Mario Kart 8 aint got shit on this game.
Damn memories
JESUS!!! This is in the game?!! I can't beat the first league... I finally made it to the last race but I lost... I got the first speed upgrade but it unbought itself when I went out of the shop... do you have to beat the league before you can buy things?
Supereric53 Crazy right? Uuuuh you should keep any upgrades that you buy. And each time you go up in speed class it kind of resets.
I couldn't keep the upgrade, it just went back in the store and gave me my money back when I bought it
Back when racing was godly.......
I don’t like how the boost mutes the music
Why wouldn't it tho? The music mutes when you break the sound barrier, which is what would actually happen irl since you're travelling faster than sound at that point. The only way you'd be able to hear the music is if you were in an enclosed cockpit with its own air. The effects of breaking the sound barrier would then only be experienced externally.
Yeah that's not boost.. that's the sound barrier my dude ...
why does the music cut out in this game
Well... when you go above 742mph... you break the sound barrier... Music is sound so... it cuts out.
Sonic Boom... at least that's the logic. They changed it in XGRA
Is this video of it on a GC or PS2?
What are you playing this on?
Uuuuuuuh I think at the time of recording I was playing the GameCube version on the Wii.
Ultra fckn fast!
Now playing Gamecube versión 950 Siria canyon and this very dificultades tracks, this one nevera finish me destroyer bu others racers.
Oceania's also one of my favorite tracks along with Atradaitoshi and Megalopolis 7.
I always wondered about the flash mortar weapon... I know it can be used to disorient players during multiplayer, but does it have any affect on the CPU riders?
Yes it messes them up lol.
Yes
H E Y D J ! ! !
Nice
is it much better to play than the first game of the series? i bought the first one for ps2 but it doesn't make much fun to play it
The first is on the N64. Not the PS2.
Loveing it
hit the walls much
rail gun ftw
"I'm pretty much the best person at this game" 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Lol someone who finally gets it
@@AmaZeroMmu nice to see some people played this game. 👍
The shit!
Is the GameCube version better than the PS2?
I think so. It runs at 60fps instead of 30 or 23 on PS2.
i need to find me a gamecube so i can buy this game.
Never even seen the third version wow I beat 1 and xg2
Wipeout sucks!! Bring back XG
Look at me I'm playing!
✌️
Rápido como el chancho en la curva
They should release it on Switch
Yes
