We have an old family friend who’s Norwegian. His name is Birger Nost. He’s gone now, in 2013, but he grew up in Tromso and was a ferry captain, then a ship”s steward for a cruise line. He came to the USA when he was 19 and served in our Army after getting US citizenship. Your travels to Tromso were so apropos and incredibly awesome! I could see the place of Birger’s youth and remember a dear friend. ❤️
Gorgeous! Just so serene and beautiful. Thank you Jeremy! The big reindeer at the end and the shot you got of the ferry in between the rocks, just fabulous. Great job!
No god damn way you actually visited Rebbenesøya?? That island is like my second home, as much a part of my life and childhood as Tromsø, if not more so. Seeing Tromsø on youtube is one thing, but Rebbenes?? Thank you for having stopped by my special little place.
Thanks for taking me along, Jeremy. Did that sign mean you were at 70 degrees north latitude? Only twenty more to the Pole? I wonder if Norwegians and other Arctic folk take pride in their northernness. Did you ever get to eat reindeer meat? Or clip fish? How was it? If that was as far north as you got on this trip, where next? You find anything of your Larson roots? --charlie, sacramento CA
Yes that was 70º north, and yes they are quite proud of their latitudes in that part of Norway. You'll especially notice it when we get to the trip's northernmost point in a few videos from now. And yes, I did have reindeer merat (first had some on the train up from Stockholm a few videos ago). No clip fish though (turns out, it's cod, as in bacalao). Saw some Larsens but I only assumed they were family; I don't know for sure ;)

I loved that island, I sometimes think of it as the best highlight of this trip. I'd go back and explore it for a week if I could
Reno, US Nevada, is Spanish for reindeer.
Absolutely gorgeous scenery. Jeremy: Boat Captain!
Why not? How hard could it be?
Next month I will visit lofoten may I ask something about the car ferry card discount card.
I'm not sure about a discount card actually. Good luck
That was too short.
Thanks. I should make a limited edition two-hour version...? ;)
Roger that! If you a two hours of someplace, anyplace that stunning you should definitely present it. The expression on your face said it all.
If I have time I'll try to make some super version, to really settle in and get immersed in these parts of Norway
