I tissue cover the free flight cadet glider from igabow models using a glue stick and ezedope from deluxe materials. its simple process but time consuming in a cold cabin :)

For fifty years I only applied adhesive to the outline, then saw Tom Hall (Maxfliart) apply adhesive to every rib and spar and also every element of a fuselage frame. What revelation, no more warps and easier repairs as you can just cut out one bay.

Does spray painting over the dope covered wing add significant weight to the model;?

Depends on coats and colour but if your careful with light spraying. Little and often my rule
