Great video. I am in Joyner and started metal detecting the property and have already found great stuff from Camp Strathpine

Not a hat badge. I believe it's off the collar.

Great little find, There are so many spots around the Pine Rivers area full of WW2 sites, a big one is at the end of / opposite Torrens Road along Narangba road there was an open army depo down in the valley but was filled in when they thought the Japanese was going to come down this way, and now they've built houses on top of it, but to the left of that area where the open area and past the houses it may be worth having a scratch around there, I did find some remains of old WW2 building in the dirt and grass, that was years ago though.

Thanks for watching and thanks for the info. I'll definitely have to have a look. I believe there was an Artillery Firing Range on Torrens Rd that aimed up towards Clear Mountain. I'll do a bit more research on that one.

@@camcarteradventures I did forget to say a good deal of Braypark area was a practice range as well, when they first started developing that area they were always had the army bomb squad there clearing unexploded stuff out and even then people were still finding things.

Asbestos aside, it looks like a job for a leaf blower to save yourself from some back breaking work

Yeh, that was my initial plan but there was 80 years of baked on sediment on the slab. Probably can’t see it in the video but it was about 100mm thick and the roots had made it pretty hard to clear. I also wanted to pile the leaf litter and dirt to the sides so we could run the detector over it.
