+NWIPrepper19113 Glad you enjoyed the tour, it was a really neat farm. Sadly I had to cut a lot of footage due to the lawn mower noise. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, I appreciate it!
This is a beautiful forest. Love the music. It took care of the lawn mower nicely! LOL. Wow. The Living History Farm is really neat. The engineering of that era was totally amazing. Hard to comprehend how they were able to accomplish such marvels. Thanks for sharing the farm and the hike. Keep Hiking! Take care, friend.
+Sleeves Thanks man, yeah the music was definitely to cover up the noise. Sadly I decided to cut a lot of footage too due to the noise. It is a neat spot though and definitely worth a look if you are ever in the area. You can actually drive right up to the farm if you were just passing through and not enough time to hike the 1.5 mile (one way) trail. I found it to be the perfect way to stretch the legs after riding in the truck for several hours. The engineering is very excellent, especially considering that all of that would have been built with hand tools. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks so much for watching and commenting.
+Deranged Survival Yeah we can learn a lot from the lifestyle of our ancestors. I ended up cutting a lot of footage due to the lawnmower noise so it did not make the final video, but at one point I did comment that life back then was when bushcrafting was a way of life and not just a hobby like it is today. Thanks for watching, man! I really appreciate it!
+Survivalist2008 It was a nice spot but not so quiet with that lawn mower going, sadly I cut a lot of footage because of the noise. That was just my bad timing, it is actually a really neat place. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice tour looking at the old farm. Yeah too bad you couldn't get inside and have a good look at the cotton gin. But still very interesting to see. At least you had no other hikers or tourists to compete with. Very nice.
+Nick Outdoors It is a really cool spot, and I would definitely go back again if I was in the area. Unfortunately I had to compete with the lawn mower, had to cut a lot of my footage due to the noise. Otherwise I really enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting! As always I appreciate your support!
nice hike around the living history sight SNR I've been down there a few times to check out the military park and not to far away is the Pig pin battle field National park thanks for sharing
+willy bailey Yeah the Military Park looked pretty interesting too but sadly I simply did not have time to check it out. It was a short 2 day trip to Gaffney for work...Day 1 was just riding down there, but didnt arrive till late in the afternoon. Day 2 was all work and then come home. I may get another chance to check out that area in a future visit, there are several neat things around there to check out. Glad you liked the history farm, definitely the best thing to see in the state park. Thanks for watching man!
+WoodThump Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching. This is a neat spot. Sadly I had to cut some footage due to the lawn mower noise, my bad timing!
Great tour my friend. The coyote and his family and my family met at Renfro valley last weekend for the living history weekend. we had a great time. I love those kind of places. I watched the video you sent me and tried to do as you said but still flubbed it up. LoL.Still working on it.
+BluegrassBushcraft Thanks for watching man! Yeah it was a really neat farm, I like this kind of stuff...when bushcrafting was a way of life, not a fun hobby haha! It is much better when you can see re-enactments and demonstrations too, I'm sure they probably have events like that on weekends. I'm sure you guys had a great time at Renfro Valley, did you shoot any vid? Keep playing around with your settings on your camera and on your video editor and you'll eventually figure that out. Actually, I just took down that video today but if you want to watch it again sometime just let me know and I will put it back up.
Thanks Bro. When I get more time I would like you to put the video up again. I really don't know what I done wrong. I think its something with my camera. I got to looking at my videos and some I have ready to publish have the black on the sides and some don't. I uploaded them all the same. My camera has a lot of settings and I really don't understand it, the camera is also old and probably not the for youtube, I'll keep playing with the editor in my spare time and try to get it together. Thanks for your help.
+Steve Sherron I did not submit any paperwork to pass through your area, I was afraid I may not receive approval haha! Yeah I though about hitting you up to see if you wanted to come out, but this was a very short trip. I was in Gaffney for only 2 days for work. I will likely have to get back down there again in the future, I'll keep you posted. The state park does not have much to see, but the farm was awesome and right next door is the National Military Park that has some history and a battlefield. Trails in both parks also connect with Crowders Mountain up on the NC side so its pretty neat area. Thanks for watching and commenting, my friend. I appreciate it!
Nice video my friend; if you enjoy this type of place try to make a trip to Hart Square near Hickory, NC. Dr Hart has 200 acres housing over 100 log structures that he himself dismantled, moved and restored to their original state. If memory serves me right Hart Square is only open to the public one weekend in October each year. By the way you might want to be careful lurking around Gamecock country with that Virginia Tech hat on! LOL Or as far as that goes PIRATE COUNTRY either . . . AAARRGH! Just kidding my friend, thanks for sharing.
+Steve Armstrong hey hey hey my VT hat goes where ever I go LOL. I have a great photo of somebody's VT Go Hokies flag flying in Georgetown, SC, that I took a few summers back, so there are a few representing down that way LOL! Yeah I have heard of Hart Square but I have never been there. I actually have family that lives in Statesville, just about a half hour away. It sounds like a very interesting place, thanks for the reminder about it. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, as always I appreciate your support!
Please tell me you aren't moving to South Carolina!! So they had mowers in the 19th century haha? I think it would have been more realistic to see the guy out there using a scythe to chop down the grass in the opposite corner from where you were LOL ;-) Looks like a great place to visit SMR... I'm currently laying in bed extremely sore from my extreme dayhike. Most miles I've ever done in a day....and probably ever will (at least for a while). Take care, ~Ridgewalker
+Peakbaggers For Cancer Nah I aint moving to SC, I had to go down to Gaffney for a few days. Yeah who knew they had gas powered mowers back then! LOL! This is a neat spot, definitely worth a look. Thanks for watching! So where did you end up doing this extreme day hike? I hope it was not the route you had planned, man I dont see how anybody could do that in a day, and if you did then you passed several good spots that you could not have appreciated for more than 2 seconds LOL.
haha no....I didn't do that route. I started east of Buena Vista went north to Bald Knob/Cold Mountain and then crossed US60 again and went south to Rice Mountain. Nearly 30 miles :/ I've never been so tired haha
+coyote238 haha that would have been awesome! the disadvantage of being there on a weekday I guess, all the exhibits closed and no demonstrations...but the advantage is that I had the palce to myself! It was a really neat site. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely awesome!!! Really really enjoyed this. I love it when other people make history videos, too. So interesting to see around this living history farm, and I loved how you edited it all together. Reminds me of the living history farm I visited this past summer in Indiana, check it out: th-cam.com/video/wfq-S1ZzrxQ/w-d-xo.html Thank you for sharing! :)
+Historical Geocaching I'm really glad you enjoyed this video. It is a really neat place. Sadly I had to cut a lot of footage due to the lawn mower noise. I'm still glad I was able to check out this site. I will be sure to watch your video as well, thanks for the link. Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it!
+Smell N Roses You are so welcome!! I am really loving your videos, history and nature is right up my alley :D I understand about having to cut footage out...I've had that experience too before. I just try to make the best video possible. :)
Very nice place thanks for sharing
Those wooden gears are amazing. What pioneers used to fabricate from local materials is incredible.
+Campfire Steve I agree it was very impressive, when bushcrafting was just the way of life LOL! Thanks for watching man!
Great tour even if nothing was running. Thanks.
+NWIPrepper19113 Glad you enjoyed the tour, it was a really neat farm. Sadly I had to cut a lot of footage due to the lawn mower noise. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, I appreciate it!

Did you cross through NC to get here? I don't recall any paperwork coming across my desk. Nice place.

I kept waiting on you getting a chance to milk a cow ,goat or at least plow ground using a horse. I like places like that.
