@J G never has happened and never will happen, AFL is a very competitive sport that makes fans cry their hearts out, soccer on the other hand normally gets under 10 points, AFL on the other hand is so much more better than soccer, soccer is a boring game that barely get any goals because soccer players are bad(except namar, ronaldo and messi) AFL will always be better than soccer in australia(soccer in my opinion is terrible😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂)+ when u said Afl it’s actually AFL/Australian Football League

I was at the game with my dad. My Essendon mate was also there sitting in a different area, he texts me at half time giving me shit, says “how about a beer?”. I told him “gee this one is going to hurt when you lose”. Post-game, he did not feel like a beer.
Yes, to this day, I have not in person witnessed a performance like that. I was there, surrounded by Essendon supporters who were cock-a-hoop in the second term. It was simply astonishing what transpired there after.
Oh how the game has changed. You just don’t see players kicking it to someone on a lead like that anymore. Now it’s all about kicking it into a pack and hoping someone can outmark 4 other people. Hence why there’s less scores like this nowadays
@@frasergibson5763 it's not that no one kicks to a lead anymore, it's because tactics in the game have changed. It turns out that it doesn't work well to focus wholly on scoring and giving full forwards 1 on 1 contests all day, but to also defend and prevent the opposition from scoring. That's why tactics like flooding from coaches like Terry Wallace, Alistair Clarkson and Ross Lyon were developed, all of which worked!
People love talking about Buddy Franklin and how dominant he has been for the majority of the past 12-13 years, and rightly so. But they forget about Brendan Fevola who absolutely destroyed the competition in a (to be brutally honest) terrible team from 2003 to 2009. It's such a shame that he couldn't get his life sorted and priorities figured out. He could have finished his career on 800+ goals and played 300 games. But we will always remember the good old days 🙂
@@spello8191 No doubt. The reason Fev didn't play 300 games was because he couldn't get his act together. He took too long to become an adult, which ended his AFL career short. But it would have been amazing to see him play for an extra 4-5 years at least, because of how great a player he was.
Fevy is a freak and whilst didnt do much for his reputation off field, a great player and one of our best full forwards ever. Great also to look back in 07 to see Cade Simpson, Eddie Betts and Marc Murphy running around then and now. Simmo has been a carlton great in my books and great to see Eddie back. Re: the commentator's comment at 2:15!!! What about when Carlton was down by 56 points in the 3rd quarter against Collingwood in the 1970 Grand Final??
There was another dramatic comeback against Essendon at Windy Hill. I was a guest at the cricket club and almost went home at half-time. The third quarter rained fourteen Blues' goals and the silliest booking of all time. The Swan was reported fro striking. One of the greatest half forwards of all time and he wouldn't raise a finger to a monster. I think he slapped Fletcher senior. Ineffectually, unfortunately, as he got up.
