    I have already changed this valve on my 240000km 1.6 HDI which is easy to do, but I was wondering how I could manage this change on my 260000 km 1.4 HDI. Now I know ! Thanks for sharing this video 👍

    Well, I did try again and I pulled out the cap from the front, without removing the whole frame, so it is possible.

    Is it possible for this type of PCV to be stuck in the closed position, causing positive crankcase pressure? The diaphram you removed looked in good condition, what was the problem with this particular car? Thanks

    • @usefultutorialsco1746
      @usefultutorialsco1746  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think it is not possible because when the membrane breaks, always remaining open, it creates a negative pressure in the circuit. In fact, if it had absurdly created a positive pressure you would not have consumed oil

    • @TheRealVin1
      @TheRealVin1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is possible. It causes excess pressure in the crank case causing gaskets to blow or the pcv valve

    Hi,
    I noticed that I had an oil leak under the engine on the timing side.
    I took it apart and saw that it was from the crankshaft and camshaft spy seals. I had them changed 7 months ago and for the past week they've been leaking.
    I've noticed that my engine has a lot of blow-by and oil vapour.
    Is it the pcv?

    Hi I used a heat gun and tried to get this cap off and it just sint coming at all, don't want to damage it.
    Any other little tips that may help it come off?

    • @usefultutorialsco1746

      If it is hard to remove you can continue to heating the part for longer time or with more powerful phon

    Hi, is it unavoidable to remove the whole frame please? I removed the air filter and tryed to lift the cap from behind, as shown in video, but I did not succeed.

      you have to use an industrial hair dryer (as shown in the video) to dissolve the sealant that keeps the valve cap attached to the engine valve cover

    Thank you for the video! Very useful! Is there an oring that needs to be replaced under the plastic cap? In my car there is a little oil spill around that cap. Thanks

    • @usefultutorialsco1746
      @usefultutorialsco1746  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry if I answer you after a month. Under the cap there is only a rubber membrane and, under the membrane, there is a spring. The fact that you found some oil under the cap is most likely due to the membrane that is now punctured and certainly needs to be replaced.

    How to solve this problem? How often we have to change the diesel filter..

    Hello, I have tried today to remove that cover using a heating blower with no luck. There was smell of burnt plastic but that cover would not flick an millimeter. I got to mention that this engine has 360k km and the valve cover was never changed. I tried testing by covering the opening that goes out of the pcv side and I understood that if the membrane is broken I should see oil coming out of the two small holes but I don't. The oil must be coming from other place. Let me know your thoughts on this.

    Is it nessery to glue this cap after replacing membrane?
    Can I check somehow if my membrane is still good?

    • @usefultutorialsco1746
      @usefultutorialsco1746  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it is necessary. If the membrane seems good it doesn’t mean that it is really good because after many km and years the membrane becomes too weak to win against the force of the pressure under it

      do not forget to leave a small hole in the sealing ring for the membrane air pressure compensation, otherwise OBD codes like P1315 (Persistent Misfire) and P2413 (Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Performance).will appear.
      See first where the hole is before removing the cap.
