I spent many years as a US Naval Aviator, so I know a thing or two about aircraft. This is a beautifully designed aircraft, produced by a partnership of quality manufacturers, and seems to have very good specs. The only thing that will hamper sales is the maintenance infrastructure. If that can be solved, this aircraft could ( and should ) give Boeing and Airbus some good competition. I personally would love to fly on one.

Good luck with the new airliner. I fly a lot, and would be glad to give it a try. Russian aircraft have often shown solid design, and genuine creativity,.....but you will have some Very Tough competition. VERY glad to see you included the little TV screens on the back of the seats, I just flew two lengthy flights with United Airlines.....they removed them, pushed the seats closer together to carry more cattle, served NO FOOD. Worst flights of my life. Be good to your customers, and you will surely be rewarded, I'll Never Fly United Airlines Again, even if they have a good ticket price.

Hello aboctok. One flight was San Francisco to Honolulu (737) and the next leg was Honolulu to Guam (777) I would guess the first was about 4-5 hours, the second 6-7 hours. I was very bummed out, I cross the Pacific from California to Asia 4 times a year. The movies and food (and nice friendly, helpful stewardesses) make the flight much more bearable. Both of these flights had neither....I couldn't believe I was flying a Triple 7 with no movies. They wouldn't even give me an extra blanket, as the plane was quite cold inside, and furthermore their blankets are smaller and made of cheaper material than any I've ever experienced.
And food? NOTHING. Instead of a meal or two, the captain announced they would sell you a cheeseburger for 12 dollars. United was the TOTAL OPPOSITE of JAL, KAL, ANA, Cathay Pacific, Thai Airlines, they all treat you like a king,-extra snacks if you ask, decent food, and very polite friendly crew. I don't know if United is this bad on the shorter flights in the USA. But I was just plain shocked at how bad these 2 flights were, and the other passengers all felt the same. United? NEVER Again.

I can not even fly Commercial anymore. I need to book on specific types: 747-400, 747-8/747-8I, 777-800/B77W, 787-9, A340-600, A350-900/A350-1000, A380-800 and in First-class Suites or double booking seats for myself; since I am so tall (6'7"/2.04m/204.21cm). I simply cannot help how I grew up. That is on domestic flights-only. I can not even imagine going International by myself; let alone with 6 others(my wife and children).
American-domestic Airlines really do not even like me, since I am part of the LEOFA Program*. LEOSAs fly armed with our sidearms(yes concealed on us); domestically to assist in the shortage of Air Marshals. Same reason Pilots got allowed to get qualified to fly domestically whilst armed.
Commercial Pax Aircraft being so small really defeats the purpose of even having the program. LEOFAs have to plan days to weeks ahead (with our Agencies/TSA/FAA/DHS/the Airline), before we even think, about setting foot into an Airport alone. That is for them to have me in a seat with a strategic and/or tactical overview of the plane, cockpit and other passengers and to not be shot outright (by Airport-assigned LEOs/Air Marshals).
I simply do not get trying to pack cattle. It makes in-air travel even less secure from attacks or unruly passengers/flight staff/pilots. I would have to open fire over/around/above other innocent passengers and flight staff to neutralize an in air threat on smaller planes. Now, factor in stress, emotions and adrenaline from me actually having to "go" in an air situation, as well.
LEOSAs, participate and go through the program voluntarily (with our own money to pay for the abbreviated Air Marshal-type training), as a courtesy to the Airlines/Airports; for extra safety during flights.*

There will not be much USA Technology in it by 2023.
Trump and Congress have ensured that. Acting like ass holes the USA has banned selling the raw materials for the Composite Wings etc. and also stopped them buying it from Japan or any European Nation by way of USA Secondary Sanctions.
In due course the Prat and Whitney engine will not be used either. Russias new PD 14 engine has come up as expected in Tests. Is about 2% better in fuel efficiency than the P and W, is lighter and simpler will cost less and be 10/15% cheaper to maintain.
Operating costs overall should be about 10/25% lower than the 737Max.
Having to start producing the fibres in Russia has delayed it going into production by about 6 months. No big Technical Problem. Russia can make the composite fibres but there will be a delay.
Thats Trump and Congress. No honour. Any dirty trick to help protect Boeing from Competition. Nasty little boys and girls.
The USA got there answer. The Pratt and Whitney will not be used after a few years. The aim is to replace all USA components.

The Russians can't offer anything even close to these networks so they will struggle to sell any of these aircraft unless they operate in Russia or a neighboring country. I say it's a big improvement for the Russian aircraft industries. Even those wings look like the are from the 1990s but it completely composite fiber. The real aircraft that's going to make a change is the that lighter or faster. As long as the plane is safe(fly by wire and hydraulic) it will give a better ego to Russia's aviation. In my opinion I would rather buy the MC21-300 instead of the A321neo(more of the centerline competitor). Boeing really needs to make a new design of an airplane because they last design from scratch they made was the 787 back in the 2008.

As a customer of airplane companies ..namely the low cost ones, I can not but be happy for More competition on this area that is much much needed. Also let's not forget that Both Airbus and Boeing have combined about 12.000 airplanes on order ... no one can order a new airplane and expect to received it at best in the end 2021 ... this of course If the current Options to buy more are not executed ... in that case expect delivery in 2022/23 ... So this is nice market for new airplanes to compete. Also let's not forget that the listed 110M$ is the List price for the Airbus A320 Neo (price also differs a lot with options). No one pays that price since most order are much higher then one airplane ... Actually the biggest orders have been made for example by IndiGo ... in 2011 their made the worlds biggest commercial aircraft order to that date : 155 A320's Airplanes... then in 2014 they broke their own World record with and order of ... 250 A320's !! and ... not happy with that in 2016 they broke their own record again : take a seat: 500 A320's brand new airplanes!! Yup ... 500! World Biggest Ever commercial aircraft Order ...undisclosed price but I bet Way Lower then the listed 110M ... And yes folks ..that's the kinda guys you have to compete in order to get a airplane ... this is all good news to the MC-21 ...
I must add that RyanAir has 350 new 737 on order also ...

    • @John_Smith__
      @John_Smith__ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Actually Airbus is the best plane around no doubt's about it ..I simply tend to promote competition. that's healthy in a marketplace. I, as a Customer of airline companies and traveler, aim to get the Lowest price possible on a ticket ...and part of that is to take out the 110Million USD$ out of the price tag on say a A320 Class airplane ... Competition Makes that ... Airbus, Boeing will not even try to come up with ways to lower the prices ..that is more efficient airplanes ... if they do not have competition.

@@dimitriskaligeris5506 eh not really...many carriers care about a few things:
      - fuel consumption
      - range
      - ease of maintenance and parts interchangeability
Many operators will prefer a smaller plane that trades passengers for fuel as it will give them more flexibility if flights do or don't sell out. The A220 is already cannibalizing some of the A320neo imo (and obviously the 737). The Embraer lacks the range of these, but is supposedly more fuel-efficient and somewhat cheaper to produce with a 'good-enough' range.
Factoring in that the majority of operators are trained to repair Boeing/Airbus aircraft and the public perception of Russian planes (whether deserved or not), it's gonna be a TOUGH sell to any operator unless its significantly cheaper than a Boeing or Airbus...and I have my doubts they can make it that much cheaper. We also don't know what the fuel consumption will be for this jet. It'll need to operate comparably to even be competitive.

If it is a big success Russia and China will produce it. Russia has not really got the manpower to produce hundreds every year.
