Love this. Great ideas on where to find embellishments. Here's a hint for using a hot glue gun. Get a small silicone scraper from the dollar store to press down lace, mesh, etc. Works great. Protects your fingers and doesn't stick.
Wow... not only did the frame turn out gorgeous, but you are a wonderful teacher. Clear, calm, easy to follow. I watched the video twice back-to-back and subscribed. I am just now finishing the prep work on a box I plan to give as a gift. I have had a mind to make it steampunk but was somewhat unsure. You have inspired me to move forward boldly. Thank you so much!
Beautiful frame! Thanks for taking us through the whole process and talking about where you pick up items. I never thought about going to repair shops. Great idea.
What an awesome process. I love that you used paint instead of gesso. Love the colors and the products. Thanks also for the tips on where to find things.
I am in Steampunk Heaven right now!!!!! Absolutely Stunning altered frame (no, don't put a photo in, lol...) SP is my favourite favourite favourite style of all. I have been absent from TH-cam & really from serious crafting for a while. To watch this reaffirms I NEED to do another grunge, metallic, Steampunk piece. It is definitely my "happiest place". Not that I am hugely experienced but thinking of the small amount I have done, in this genre, gives me that buzzy feeling. My confidence has been on the floor for sometime & I know part of it is, I am not doing pieces I enjoy, it has become a chore. Crafting/creating should be fun & an escape from life chores! Thank you so much for this brilliant video. Yours always inspire! Off to look through my big box of saved junk.... Luurvve this!! C😊
Caroline Brand I'm making a mental note to watch this later today. From what I can se here, it looks awesome! Creating should always be about what makes you feel happy. If you don't look forward to doing it in the first place, you'll never be happy with the finished piece - if in fact you even finish it! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your art now yes ?! x
Deborah Moore, subtle, very subtle, lol... Didn't realise whole comment appears on G+, bit embarrassing. This is a brilliant video, Einat always does wonderful pieces. Really easy too which suits me!😜
inspiredcaroline24 Caroline Brand I have just watched this video (and subscribed whilst I was there) Not only a fabulous project but such a clear and easy to follow video. It has made me think though - about how, when I do a canvas or something similar, that I am so restrained. I need to just throw caution to the wind and slap it all on - I am far too controlled! I have been collecting things but not enough - we need to see the potential use in everything don't we?! I need to take a lesson from my youngest, he collected anything and everything when he was little - his bedroom was full of 'junk' - I'd be in heaven now if I'd have kept it all when he grew out of the hoarding bug!
Another great video from you to brighten my Saturday morning :) I love all things collage and have done a few "junk drawer" collages in the past....I am a huge steampunk fan and I may have to clean out my junk drawer once again! Thanks for the inspiration as always, love your work :)
Excellent techniques. I love steam and am new to mixed media. I get overwhelmed when I have so many things I want to use so hearing your process is so helpful and I can't wait to get home and get back to the piece I started. Subscribed!
Hi Einat my name is Jeannette. I subscribed and this is the second video I saw. Wow pretty creative. I love this style. I've watched a lot of video's, started accumulating stuff for crafting, new of course but this punky look is fabulous. You made me feel younger ty. I want to say ty for your time, patients and teaching. I love your modesty and your real. Your fun to watch, learn, and listening to your pleasant voice..I'm in lol
Thank you for that wonderful tutorial! I really enjoyed it so much I watched it twice! I am always collecting bits and pieces that I think I could use in this type of work. I did learn about colour from this tutorial, so thank you for explaining why you were using the colours you used, it was a great help to me. I think I will be a lot happier now when I create a new piece after watching this video. Hugs Eileen xxx
Beautiful! I loved watching you put this piece together & learnt a lot. I am definitely going to do something like this on one of the many frames I have waiting to be altered. I think I want to have a steampunk look to our bathroom, which we are renovating in our 1910 house, here in New Zealand. So thanks for taking the time to show us how to do this.
I really love this. I have not tried this, but I think now I will. I guess a trip to the hardware store is in order. lol Thanks for sharing your talent.
Wow! Fabulous technique and video Einat! TFS! I've always been afraid of steampunk for some reason, but I really think I'll try it after watching this!
Fantastic steampunk frame, i am going to have a go at it, heading for my husband's shed right now haha. Your work is amazing i love to watch all your projects, thanks for sharing. Maureen from Aussie.
Gorgeous, really like watching how you produce the aging process, I agree about using your fingers I do the same so much more fun while creating. I love steampunk it is magical, it speaks of secrets. Thanks for sharing. Hugs Angela. :)
Wow, that looks amazing! I admit I was sceptical before the painting, but once the colors were added and it all came together it looked sooo gorgeous! Great job with achieving the effects :) I'll have to try to find some cheap metallic paints on eBay now...
you are so talented I love your work such an inspiration to me and you explain everything that your doing thankyou so much I will be watching loads more of your video's xxxx
Einat, this is awesome!! I've been wanting to do a steampunk piece and this one is small enough for me to start with. TFS. Question, if you don't mind, how did you get that textured area in the middle of the piece? Did I miss the instruction on that? xoxoxo
AWESOME, FABOLOUS AND GORGEOUS !! Gosh I LOVE this. Thank you for sharing such a fantastic tutorial. Loved watching and listening to your comments.and the result is jaw dropping lovely..wohooo. Now I need to find out what the big netallic round ones are called. Wonder if you know if they are intended for an electric tool.?? Which I dont know the name of in English.. Thanks again. It was such a great inspiration. Hugs from Monica... Spain
Fixative will not help. You need to use a stronger glue to make sure the pieces won't fall. The best thing to use is heavy gel medium and use it generously. Thanks for watching!
cynthia lynn Alcohol ink is an ink that is not based on water but on alcohol. That means it reacts differently with materials. I use it mainly for two reasons: first it gives metal a tainted look that I really love and it can also create rust colors on new metal so I use it for aging. Second it comes in a bottle so I use it to create beautiful drops on paper and canvas. Didn't understand your second question...Thanks for watching!
+Magik Dust I use different kinds of sprays: Lindy's Stamp Gang, Dylusions, Tattered Angels and there are more. You can read all about gesso here: scrapinit.blogspot.co.il/2015/05/the-ultimate-guide-to-acrylic-mediums.html Thanks for watching!
Watch mender, no such thing here in Devon uk. In fact nobody mends anything any more! Love your video, but find it difficult to get enough stuff, will have to become a horder, shall be looking in Grand children's toy box with a new interest
you are the only person that can make me see beauty in steam punk. You are magical

Beautiful!!
Great work. Love it! What kind of paint sprays are you using
Lindys Stamp Gang or Dylusions
Love your frame. Where do you get the biggest gears? I love making altered tins, boxes and cases. I can't wait to try a frame.
I collected my gears over the years from dtores, industrial areas, garage sales etc. Try Etsy...you'll probably find some there
Gorgeous
Is there a list of paint and ink colors and brands you use? I’m a beginner so don’t have a huge “stash” built up yet.
There's a list at the beginning of the video
what are the names of the spray colors
Amazing work ♡♡♡♡I am impressed with your work! !!!
I have all that. now I know what to do with it. thanks very original. Luv, Luv, steampunk.
Ok. Using your fingers is good. But what do you use to clean them after you are finished?
This may be a stupid question, but what is jesso? and where would you get it?
Awesome! Any suggestions on a fixative? I find that my artwork scrapes off the frame very easily.
Fixative will not help. You need to use a stronger glue to make sure the pieces won't fall. The best thing to use is heavy gel medium and use it generously. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this information! :)
