I’ve been waiting for my Xymox pad for 8 months, and they’re using theirs to place their coffee mugs on. I feel disrespected
Have you gotten it yet?
B Gzz i wish i could say yes😖
I ordered a hybrid snare April of 2019 xmxox sucks lmao
Deuce Andrews oh my
Jack Clancy I just cancelled mine and am buying a used real marching snare. So happy I made this decision
great interview... center snare age-out class this year is so stacked: Bryce Gardner, Brandon Olander & Mike Galetta w/ Cadets -
Looking forward to Scojo & BDs at the Rose Bowl...complete w/ in-the-lot incense...!
😔😔😔
Great interview! You obviously knew your stuff and had some great questions prepared. Scott Johnson is the best of the best and it was great to hear what he has to say!
I got to play with THEE Scott Johnson at TMEA this year. It was absolutely mind blowing he gave me his personal practice pad and personal sticks and said “play somethin!” So I played and he played a little with me and he told me that I had really good hands! Then he goes into questioning about where I’m from and what school and what I do! Anyways it was one of the best experiences of my life! (I also met Roger Carter and had a 2 hour long chat about life and drum) I love it!
So Cool! Scott is sa great teacher. Thanks for sharing!
I played the tenors in jr high and high school, but never had the opportunity to be in a drum corps. I discovered Scott Johnson about 10 years ago after 23 years of drumming, and fell in love with the modern rudimental drumming. I have two field drums with the articulate heads (13" and a 14") that I train on. Thanks to his influence, my drumming improved 10 fold!
also you guys should interview brandon olander like scojo suggested in the video
"progress with the activity"
Is an understatement when it comes to Scott.
Fantastic individual as well as a clinician.
Awesome job man! Great interview the living legend himself! :)
Thanks man! Always appreciate the encouragement!
ScoJo is an unintentional huge influence on my drumline writing style
He's the Bill Belichick of DCI
That's a great way to put it!
Mike ditka more like everyone loves ditka and scojo
he's the scott johnson of dci
No bill belichick is the scojo of sports ball
Well, they were cheating with the cut rims, so I can see how you would go there. It's crazy though, even with the cut rims they still hit rims. To be fair to Scott though, he's gone multiple places and won. Belichick needs to prove it wasn't all Brady.
Scott made a visit to the drumline at my high school in which I was the drum captain for my junior/senior year in the early 90's and he blew our minds. He played some chops for a few minutes that at one point had him doing triple stroke rolls in which he literally let the stick in his left hand roll over onto the area between his wrist and thumb & continued the triple strokes never slowing down.Never seen that done before.Hes been a powerhouse for the Blue Devils for sure.
I met this legend at Pasic 2013 when he was a judge for hs drumlines. We ended up getting best snare line and I got a pic with him afterwards. He was nice as can be
That's Scott! Nothing but class.
i plan to be a part of the blue devils in around 5 years and i really hope this incredible man will teach me
how’s that been goinggg?
Did you make blue devils yet
I’m praying that I can have to opportunity to be a future Bloo Banger haha But it’s awesome to hear one of the greats share what he and probably other Lines are looking for in top Drum Corp. Its cool that Roger and him both said that when it comes to auditioning they aren’t looking for the flashy drummer but for Musicianship I’ll keep that in mind :)
Scott is a national treasure
How can someone be so good wtf
awesome!
6:46 Please tell me I wasn't the only one who thought he would say Brandon Olander before he even said it... :p
He's just a straight up legend
Just found this video and it's super helpful because I'm auditioning for the first time to play in 2022 (I would've tried this year but realized I couldn't afford it) and this is definitely a video I'll brush up on more than once.
Glad to hear that it was helpful! Best of luck at your audition. Please like and subscribe for more content!
@@playndrumswithdavenatal9942 Thanks for the kind words!

Already watched 😂
How about the Santa Clara snare line doing the Bottle Dance...that would get some attention on Finals Night
This made my day
True story. I listened to this video everyday before I would practice and my hard work got me all the way to the last cut at callbacks at BD. I ended up finding my home at Boston Crusaders. Just wanted you to know that you make dope content and you never know how much your influence can help people to achieve their goals. Thank you for what you do for the drumming community!🙌🏾
SCOTT JOHNSON...COOL CAT!!!!
Dear God that is one hell of a large football-shaped head
No more CORE !
Looking at the best lines, I see: less (none) dancing, more clean notes with sound quality. Corps have dancers and they have battery. Should we let the dancers start throwing in some random rudiments to their dance routines?
sanford198 thanks for sharing your thoughts! I believe the goal is to continually add demand. Do you feel there is another way to add demand to the repertoire, other than body movement?
cue the fake applause!
Get southern drummers styles
Why the fake applause? I would have claped away
Thanks this really helps
Scojo is god! Nice interview man!
"everyone can drum"
Cept even deathcore drummers may not be playing their own music 🙄
Fast forward to 2023...It's important to save DCI🙏🥁🎶🤍
