  • Oh it’s DIY Saturday and this is the second series and the last in our Mosquito Repellent series. Today we are making mosquito repellent lotion bars. I have been spending a lot of time in the garden lately trying to get rid of all those caterpillars that have been eating my basil like crazy. Organic gardening is tough especially when it comes to trying to get rid of pest in the garden. I only use natural insecticides in the garden and usually they help most of the time. However when it comes to mosquitoes in the garden, I have tried everything and they can be tough to get rid of. With Zika on the rise I decided to use mosquito repellent lotion bars to help keep them away.
I go into detail about the lotion bars and essential oils in the video, so please just watch. There have been so many episodes in DIY Saturday and I am so happy everyone loves the series. Thank you so much for support of Miracle Glow Oil. It’s a mixture of skin softening oils that penetrate the skin. I don’t know how to Thank You enough!

Shundara Castion not sure if you're aware but seeing as essential oils are volatile, by adding them prior to melting your carrier oils/butters you are reducing their effectiveness. Just letting you know.

I'm here because I was a slave narrative and she spoke about making mosquitoe bars. I have never heard of it. The book is Slave Narratives Arkansas from the Federal Writer's Project ,1936-1938,pg 34

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but citronella oil is toxic and should NEVER be put on the skin!! And Leon essential oil along with all other citrus essential oils, while smelling yummy, are photosensitive so should definitely NEVER be used when you're going to be exposed to sunlight! It's important to know what ingredients you're working with to stay safe. This is especially true if you're going to share a recipe with others who may not do their own research before trying it.

Mony's cell i do not want to be mean, but that is not true. it is not toxic. now if you do not dilute it then there will be some sensitivity. but then again some people can be allergic to it. but it is not toxic
