Mick, I’ve just binge-watched all three episodes. Utterly absorbing! The end result was of course magnificent - but it was the way you calmly overcame each difficulty as you met it that was particularly inspiring. In my view you are proof that what happens in people’s sheds is one of the things that makes this country great. And by the way, you have a father-son relationship that you should feel proud of. 👍🏻👍🏻 Go Riley!
Ohhh wow.. thanks mate .. I appreciate it
What a restoration , and demonstration. Percy Thrower would have been proud of you Big Fella 👍 Tam.
Thanks buddy.. it came out nice hey.. hope all is good your end my friend
American here...bet that was a great comment, but a poor guy like me is lost.
Nice work Mick and Riley lad !
Just watched 1/2/3 in August 2022 as I’ve just purchased a mk5. Absolutely loved it such a great watch, thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Your welcome.. I do have a cylinder mower play list with others on there
Great job. Nice to see Riley boy smiling
Thanks mate
Nice one Mick....Really enjoyed watching the three parts to this restoration....More please...Do like the vintage stuff....
Thanks .. i love the vintage stuff
Looks mint and cuts well. As you know i love to see old stuff brought back to life. TOP DRAW
Thanks mate .. looks nice hey
I found this film tonight, I have a Mk 4 and my rear rollers have a lot of sideways movement , I will look into your previous films for the breakdown of this Fantastic mower 🙂
Ok cool
@@themowerman Im now watching number one , and thinking I need a Whitworth socket set .
Absolutely stunning mower there Mick great job you are the master and Riley boy is a little super star 👍👍👍👍
Thanks Alan mate means a lot..
Another great episode Mick.
Thanks mate
Great job Mick, I have the exact same mower, cut is superb - only trick I feel you missed would have been to backlap sharpen the blades, and of course renovate those front wooden rollers!
But excellent job, great video 👌🏼
@@Superheadless thanks
Damn Mick, that cuts well!!! Great restoration!
Yeah mate .. it was a lovely mower
Lovely job 👍
Thanks .. it came out really nice
i picked up this mower from FB market just recently!! I ve never restored any vintage equipment/parts. so im excited. im glad to have found your video ! mine is pretty rusted.
im already stuck with disassembling lol scrummbling which ones need to be removed before gears. haha
Lol how do you think I did it
you did awesome!!! you made very detailed videos. awesome..!!
Indeed without your videos I wpuld have struggled sooo much more. Thank you.
Very nice job, well done! I can see Riley boy is just itching to have a go.
Yeah .. sometimes I have to put the breaks on him lol
Great job. Lovely mower!
Thanks mate
Super nice restoration - I love these antique stuff. Cheers!
Thanks mate I appreciate your support
Great video Mick. I remember my dear old Grandad pushing one of these in his garden. His was kept in prestige condition as well.
Stay safe mate
Cool mate .. it came out great..
Great video mate of a super mower
Just had a result a titan chainsaw with scored piston, adjusted the carb and runs like a dream, and cuts well cleaned it up looking great
You got lucky me old mucker is it a keeper or one to sell on..
@@themowerman can't sell it I will keep it I also have a hedgtrimmer I gave a fiver for handle seized but knew motor was good , had to re
Engineer the throttle lever spring to work and replace the pull start with one I have had lying around greased the gearbox but it is a keeper, not up to my standard of service to sell
Mick the lawn stars are having a special on u
Superb mower. Cuts soo silky. I’ve just restored a Suffolk Punch from my Uncle’s old garage. It’s looking sweet now but I just need to tune the cylinder so watching you do that was super helpful. Cheers Mick. 👍🏻
Fantastic mate hope it all goes well
Great vid mike
I’m currently doing the same mower
And bought 2 rolling pins that I’ve cut down and made new front rollers , totally cost 8 quid :-)
Cool mate hope it all goes well.
Fabulous video, looks superb
Well thanks hunny bunny..
As a cylinder mower enthusiast, i can say you have done a really good job on that mick, my only bit of advice would be to never leave paint on the cutting surfaces (ends of cylinder and bed knife edge) otherwise cracking result mate 👍
Yeah thanks mate.. to be fair the paint was not that hard so would not of done too much damage.. thanks for watching mate
really enjoyed these videos Mick, i can remember me old man having one
Cool mark.. thanks for watching
I wonder how much it sold for? Good mowers, except when the lawn surface is bumpy and the rollers slip if ground is wet. They could do with longer handles and l find the original grips are too hard without gloves. lt gets your muscles warmed up to push, (try to find a light viscosity grease for the drive side lube). Sensitive to adjustments but easy to do once practiced.
It sold for good money.. yeah if your over 5foot 8 it's too small for you
There's an echo in the audio.... ;) Top job. I suspect the rollers were originally covered in some oil finish. You might want to see if there is any advice out there. That said, after I sanded down the handles on my garden sheers and put boiled linseed oil on they ended up looking the same!
Ok thanks mate
looks like an interesting machine. how much would you pay for one, unrestored but in good working condition.
Hi.. ohhh you can get them really cheap.. like £30.. depends on what model..
cant beat a push mower..ive got a 16inch greens zephyr with 12 blades..the 14 inch with 10 blades and a 12inch with 8 blades..also got 3 webb witches..problem with the ransomes..it hasnt got enough blades so gives a washboard kind of cut..plus the upturned bottom blade..a tournament blade from garfitts would be ideal and an 8 blade cylinder would make it the best 12 inch mower there is..
Big yard mate
Yeah mate..
@@themowerman what time your other side of pond
@@73superglide62 we are about 6 hours in front of you
@@themowerman slrry here that .lol
hi again! i started reassembling the rear drums as i watch your video. is that normal that drums shift and touch each other even though i left a slight gap between them then installed rachets abd screwed covers down? once i assemble all, that will be eliminated? not sure if im doing right. i keep rewatching your video
Sounds ok mate .. just give it a go and see what happens
@@themowerman thanks!
Ransome were the Rolls-Royce in lawn mowers
Yes mate there were
Excellent job Mick. What's the price?
Make me an offer
I haven't got a clue Mick. I wouldn't like to insult you.
@@senta2431 well if you don't ask you don't get..

Mick I may be away from home for a while, but hope not. I could have a enforced holiday at.H m.p
Oh no.. what's happened
@@themowerman my own stupidity, can't handle stress, hopefully I will be home tomorrow, can't do time at my age and with my health problems
@@martinburgess4814 ok. Best of luck buddy
Premier Mick🤔 copycat 😂
Well I want to test it and see how it goes..
@@themowerman Yeah I know I was just messing with you, from the few times I’ve done them I think they are relatively successful 🙂👍
