These are the first battle bots I've seen that actually make me excited for the hobby! I thought all the spinner v spinner matches were kind of lame, but these are so dang cool looking, and effective! Thanks for posting all the videos.

I love the fact that you're making unusual and innovative robots. They're entertaining and inspiring. It gets kinda boring watching various combinations of wedge, spinner, flipper or drum. Better luck next year.

That beetle K2 looks a lot like Team Velocity's over 10 year old middleweight K2. I wonder if whoever built that beetle was inspired by the middleweight, the only noticeable difference is the original K2 had a feeder monowedge vs the split feeder wedgelets that beetle K2 appears to be using, and there's no invertibility bars on the disc.

Teamwork makes the dream work! Nice pilot and copiloting skills on the cereal box. At first looks crazy idea, but you guys managed to pull it off well, nice job! I like that its super low cost and easy to repair while recycling trash into entertainment as well.
That drum bot at the end was ferocious!

If you do, it would be a good idea to support the servos on both sides. Try using prefab'd servo brackets in the next version.

The double Krave is too much fun to watch. I was just hoping for a moment when Krave 1gets someone in the jaws and then Krave 2 pushes Krave 1 out. Woulda been gold.
I absolutely love your king googly design. I think it will certainly catch the attention of the producers of series 3 for battlebots (Just be prepared for the need of an "active weapon"). Also, have you thought of utilizing omni wheels? I know they get a bad rap from how poorly root canal did but every time you open and close your jaws you'll be skidding your tires across the floor and if the bot is partially open it will struggle going straight because one half will be pulling one direction and the other half will be pulling the other direction.

I’d probably have to add something for the active weapon (although as I think I mentioned in the design vids of the 250lb version, 1st gen BiteForce passed the active weapon rule despite only having a clamp). I have thought of omni wheels but they add complexity/weight, make driving less predictable when debris and another robot is involved, and are more delicate. Say I had omni wheels and clamped an opponent, and one of their wheels was still touching the ground: they might be able to drive my robot sideways. I’m not convinced it’s worth the loss of grip. Even if I was to make a truly omnidirectional combat robot I’d still probably avoid omni wheels (like RingMaster tried to do). Yknow this ,when sized up and with a few other changes could work in uk robot wars, the bots are all usually around the same size and you have a pit to work with.

6:40 and this is why you need to start making robots with actual weapons, friend. I like your out of the box ideas like the Krave Monster, but you need to have a strong spinner bot. You have the capabilities, just do it man. Name it the Rave Nomster. Make a drum spinner bot with tread instead of regular wheels, it would maximize the amount of leverage that a drum spinner would have when it gets a hit. I've made robots, but I'm very limited with my resources. I have fantastic ideas though, this is one of them. You should do it. Trust me.

+Brodini Got Magic You’ll need to find new motors, or some sort of gear reduction, because a flying drone’s motors spin way to fast to drive a wheeled robot

I think something like trash bag would gum up a motor like the wires did to K2. Would be a light thing you could drag around.

Really cheap 6 channel Hobby King brand transmitters. I've never had any issues with them.

I did not, I don't plan on trying another spinner until I have access to a machine shop to make a metal weapon and chassis

And regardless, if you're going to put beetleweight-grade motors in Krave Monster, you might as well go with Botkits 780RPM planetary gearmotors. They're more powerful overall than the 500RPM gearmotors AND aren't quite as bulky.
That being said, since Krave Monsters is a symmetrical multibot, one Krave Monster could easily run those bigger motors if it goes solo. Krave Monster's frame is just that light.

+Chef Boi Arby the soft foam is actually an advantage, weapons slice through it and don't transmit any shock to the robot. Vertical disks slice into it without catching and throwing the bot in the air and potentially flipping it over. Metal/good armor is important when it's covering electronics, but is not a great use of weight if opponents can't get to important bits anyway. If I used more metal then I'd have to to sacrifice something else, like bigger motors for better pushing power, or a metal-geared servo less likely to strip its gears

There are several tutorials on how to build combat robots that you can find with a quick google
And in addition to that, if you're still unsure, there are a few kits available.
The typical battle bots are getting boring coz many are replicating the winners e.g. spinners. We need entanglement rules to be scrapped so that we'll see more creative bots

To be fair, King Googly was a prototype for a completely unproven design. I can already see multiple areas where the design can be improved.
