FAA won’t let someone with ADHD fly if they are properly medicated. But they WILL let someone with ADHD fly if they are unmedicated. Totally makes sense.
If you are seeking counseling for anything that DOES NOT come with a diagnosis or medication, you DO NOT have to report it on your First Class Medical application. That is the most restrictive class medical certification you can apply for. CFR 67.107. Someone in aviation law should know this.
If uoure treated by a therapist for anxity depresdionn ocd phobia you have a diagnosis. If you're under secondary services you are severly mentally ill. Maybe you've got bipolar, schrioponia, school affective disorder , severe paronia, snd history of many sucide attempts. I've got BPD, GAD, cyclotheric depresdion ,mild psychosis, paronia, constant severe sucidal ideation . I wouldn't get a drivers license let alone even fly alone as a passenger id have to hsve someone accompanying me as technically if I was behaving odd and staff were concerned they could remove you from the flight tied in with massive insurance costs no thanks I will stick with terra firmer
The pilot trying to liberate people from their unnecessary confinement while attempting to go home from an employee parking lot is the crazy one?! Let that sink in…
FAA Double Speak. If you must see an FAA approved specialist, regardless whether their fees are normal, they’re still outrageous - They’re Specialists…and if they perform any tests, raise their bill to an EXPONENT and of course, they don’t accept insurance.
Wanna hear something even crazier?? For a person to be able to fly an over 55 lb agriculture spray drone while sitting on the tailgate of their truck, they would need an FAA flight physical. Go figure!!
Same here. My medical expired a while ago. I have multiple degrees, a successful career, have never used drugs, and zero criminal history, but I recently received a diagnosis that I would have to report and would result in thousands of dollars of testing. So I just haven't applied. I have my PPL and was working on my instrument rating. I know people similar to me without a diagnosis who fly without issue because no diagnosis = nothing to report. It makes me sad every day.
I was denied for being honest. Past use of Adderall and a brief depression. Eventually I no longer needed the meds and haven't used them 15 years and I lost my chance. I was overworked at my job 20 years ago and had problems focusing and sought help. That help wrecked a career. So now I am pill free for the past 15 years. Even If I need it I won't take it. I spent about 5K one evaluations etc., got ripped of my a crooked doctor in Illinois who never did the medical record evaluation ,but took my money. I also went through an intermediary in Oklahoma City, lost money on that one, they didn't do anything I was still representing myself basically. If the FAA has any indication that you want to fly for a career but have medical issues they deny you so you end up spending money on doctors who are connected to the FAA.
The pilot community is saturated with arrogant Aholes. The job of getting ratings and maintaining proficiency is challenging enough. Most people develop mental health issues just with the politics alone. I found that many pilots can’t look past someone with social issues even if they are an expert in their field. There is way too much biases in this field.
Mental health treatment has not progressed to the point that individuals with previous diagnosed andproven mental health issues. Imagine the anxieties passengers will have knowing air pilots with mental health issues are PIC. Unreal the entitlement attitudes of our culture.
Uhhg....typo: Mental health treatment is not advanced enough to say yay or nay in regards to PIC. Noone should be in command of passengers with current or previous identified mental health breakdowns.
Need Pilots? You can begin by starting with only trusting companies with robust and funded currency commitments. Having Better starting and longevity pay would be a bit more essential. Ya know?
They wouldn't know a pilot with anxity was flying their plane uts not broadcast If domeone had executive brain function issues that eould drginstly dhiw up in flight if co pilot had stepped in thed have no choice but to get powers that be in
@teglaprbambaluftlaurvafhen5449 anxity wouldn't come under term brezkfown you'd have to have severe depression suicidal indications paronia psychosis then yes you're in crisis breakdown
There is a 100% chance you've flown on an aircraft piloted by somebody with "mental health issues". We aren't talking about people who are hearing voices. We're talking about normal, boring humans with normal problems. The only difference is that pilots have to eschew sane treatments. So, would you prefer your pilot ignore their health issues, or get treatment like a sane person? Because that's what this discussion is really about.
What about if you discovered the surgeon who just saved your life had moderate depression, or an ICU staff,or the paramedic who fetched you to hospital and helped you come back from brink after a cardaric arrest

Totally makes sense.
Makes perfect sense..... Lay off the meds.
Either one is a liability.
@@lds251adhd is no more dangerous then your 55 year old captain who smokes a pack of cigarettes every day
Wow 😮 Hahaa #truelies 🤷🏾♂️
@@lds251do you even know what adhd is? Because it seems to me that you don’t.
Great report Kati. This story is Absolutely 100% on point and accurate. (except the FAA's response)
No pilot will trust the FAA's response.
Pilots are told not to even report UAP UFO sightings imagine how traumatizing that is
The veteran put his life on the line for the country. Thank
You
The FAA's ridiculous regulations on stupid things like this is the reason why the industry is going negative right now.
When are we going to get regulations for Presidents?
Are you trying to bring logic into the conversation????
They are trying! That’s what these court stuff is against Trump so he hopefully doesn’t run again. *fingers crossed*
This is absolutely discrimination as is their ADHD policy.
These meds keep
You stable
And clear minded. Oh wait yu allow alcohol!
FAA doesn’t deserve their authority

yea but most disqualifications are from medications. If you are prescribed anything you have been diagnosed.

Not true at all. OCD, ADHD, and autism don't necessarily require medications to treat, but all are reportable.
@@confidentlocal8600That’s a diagnosis. You have to be diagnosed with something if you take medication.
FAA: let’s make it impossibly hard to become a pilot!
also FAA: why is there an increasingly large shortage of pilots??!?

Look at the mental HEALTH issues of RAILROAD ENGINEERS
I'm afraid to even attempt my dream of learning to fly because I have a medical history of seeing a therapist.

Leave it to the FAA to bring the book 1984 to life

Jab mandates are the reason for the pilot shortage just like they caused doctor, nurse, truck driver, etc. shortages.

Don’t hire Ex-Military pilots they have more of a large percentage with mental health. Than a non-military pilot’s do.
I wouldn't trust a pilot with mental health issues. Not sorry.
So you wouldn’t get on a plane with a pilot that has social anxiety?
Lmao what’s a mental issue bozo

yea so they just lie about it and cover it up without getting help. So then you get an MH370 scenario. Real genius solution there.
