I don't really listen to Born of Osiris, because to be honest it isn't my taste in music.. but i think there all brilliant because they can all play their instruments really well and perform brilliantly together as a band. i think you've completely mastered that cover 10/10 WELL DONE :D
I use triggers when playing live, though not when I record in the studio. Triggers often get confused with sampling a drum kit. Sampling involves recording all of the drum tracks with microphones, but then using a plugin such as Drumagog and replacing all the hits with ones pre-recorded from some kind of sample library. 99% of all metal music recorded today uses sampled drum kits, and most of the time it's from the Steven Slate drums package! That's why everything sounds the same!
I use the Iron Cobra power glide pedal. I blended a sample with my original kick track to give it more "punch." I do use triggers when I play live, though
man your videos are always sick your sound setup is always very crisp haha i asked you to do a hester pryne cover a while back and you said youd do it but you never did hahah
Oh yeah I remember that. I'll have to do that for my next one then. I've been getting an unusual amount of requests for some all that remains videos, so I'll try to do something by them as well
@tteksarbttam I am using the Iron Cobra Power Glide Double Pedal. Thing is friggin' bulletproof...I've been using the same pedal for almost 8 years now
It's a cheapo 14" wuhan china cymbal that I picked up for 20 bucks at my local drum shop. Triggers can be fairly pricey. The "trigger" itself is actually a piezo electric microphone that is very sensitive to small vibrations. This piece needs to be plugged into a "module" that converts the trigger's output voltage into an audible sound (from a library of presets). For the Ddrum trigger and the Alesis module that I use, it ended up costing me around 350 bucks for everything (cables included)
I agree, there is ONE issue at the 0:30 mark, where his kicks are off the pattern, but that's the only spot i noticed. This is a really hard song to play. Kinda funny, cuz I met Born of Osiris's drummer, and he's only been drumming a few years...go figure. Kickass video man, I look forward to some more
Well actually my two high toms are add-ons that I purchased only a few years ago. I got my kit in the 5 piece setup in 1999 and then I added the two extra toms in the winter of 2005. The kit just kinda "evolved." Plus, I like being able to play a different drum for every beat in a song. Keeps things different
Shoot, you can get one from Musician's Friend. I got mine from a local drum shop in Nashville, but none of the shops in AZ carry them! At least, not the ones I've been to.
i second that. seen them twice live and they are really good. they are a very technical band so its really kinda ard to get EVERY thing he plays but fun
the only thing i would question is the Presonus interface, because everyone at my school cringes at the mere mentioning of them, but you seem to know how to use it pretty good. Good shit dude.
Well played, I wish this was in high quality because the low bit rate is really cutting off the overheads. I find overheads essential for snare attack as well as cymbals, the snare to me is missing a little bit of crack gained from overheads and mic'ing underneath it to augment. Appart from that, its a nice recording and nicely played :)
This is the best cover i have found of this, but the biggest thing wrong with it is that you fall off time quite a bit. not alot just enough to notice, TIIIGGGHHHTTT though. Got alot of the little details really solid, impressive!
I've gotten in the arms of perdition as a request a lot, I just can't gravity blast. I can play pretty much the entire song, with the exception of the gravity blasts. I'll see what I can do, though
@deathcore595 It's a 14" Wuhan China cymbal. They run about 20-25 bucks at a local drum shop, or you can order one from musician's friend if you need to
Naw I've not gotten the chance to try those. I do hear good things about the Pearl pedals, I just haven't gotten around to using them. Plus, I'm a bit of a Tama lover, so their brand of pedals / drums / equipment is my first choice when I need to buy new stuff
Yo! the time signature throughout the song is mainly 4/4, but at this point i think it changes, for the certain 'fill' but then it goes back to 4/4.. sorry i didn't explain that very well.. hope it helps :D
Indeed it is. Check out my new video that'll be up in a few hours where I kinda tour through my studio and explain my gear. I've got a new cymbal to replace the wuhan
woow, your a really great drummer. how long did it take you to learn this? probly took me about 2 days to get the off-beat down correctly :p but yea great drumming dude (:
ur drum set is amazing ur sound is amazing ur amazing now who did u steal the camera from haha jk 10/10 bro i love this song can you do sum chelsea grin whitechapel and suicide silence stuff
@zero252525 Yeah some of his cymbal work is a little different, but I do like to change some things up a bit in my covers so they're a little more original, if that makes sense
dude you fucking killed it im not a drummer but i can definitely appreciate how difficult this songs beat is to keep up with i made the drum beat for open arms to damnation on garage band and that took forever to get the 1st few seconds sounding like the song cause of the rhythm
hey my name is brandon i need some addvice on how to play the it seem that i know how to play it in my head but i get nevice can u send me some addvice
I would love to record my drums to some random guitar tracks, but I don't know anybody here in AZ that plays guitar (I'm new to the area) and nobody seems to want to send me tracks here over the internet! I am thinking about learning the guitar, though
Dude, this is definitely one of the better drum cover videos I've seen, keep up the good work!
i dont care what anyone says, that was an amazing cover and i've been drumming for ten years. awesome
Kick ass job! Wish more people realized how much talent it takes to play this type of music!
Not gonna lie, the shaking of the camera makes this experience 10x more badass
Awesome as always. The foot work is really amazing also, you can tell how hard it is to keep a good coordination...
I favorited this one.
dude your recordings are AMAZING!!!!
that bass drum punches me in the throat every time i hear it
Dude i love your bass drum. sounds beastly. Excellent work man. 5 stars!
dude this is the best bow down drum cover on youtube, good job. the other covers on bow down suck, yours blows them away =P
Nice, man.
I was really happy when I got to see them live.
This song was amazing even when the guy on stage pulled down his pants!
I don't really listen to Born of Osiris, because to be honest it isn't my taste in music.. but i think there all brilliant because they can all play their instruments really well and perform brilliantly together as a band.
i think you've completely mastered that cover 10/10 WELL DONE :D
now I call this one a drum cover!!!!!!! This is the best record I've ever seen on youtube. I'm gonna add you and subscribe!!
Great sound man. Really nailed the footwork. Keep em comin.
i love your fill in!!!!! and this cover is flawless!
Dude freaking sick!! Your killin it on the double bass! I play too so I know a good drummer when I see one.
I use the Iron Cobra Power glide pedal. It's buttery smooth and there's a ton of customizations that you can do to the settings
your double kicks are really good. good job on the cover
Dude that was was like..PERFECT!!!B.O.O rocks..Nice cover!
I use triggers when playing live, though not when I record in the studio. Triggers often get confused with sampling a drum kit. good job on the breakdown, great cover m
Oh it's great. It has a very "sweet" sound to it and doesn't amplify a lot of the stick sound, which is something I like. It's a very smooth cymbal
Kick ass, to be honest closest thing ive heard to legit born of osiris kick drum
I use the Iron Cobra power glide pedal. I blended a sample with my original kick track to give it more "punch." I do use triggers when I play live, though
Nice job.
Born of Osiris' drumming blows my mind.
man your videos are always sick your sound setup is always very crisp haha i asked you to do a hester pryne cover a while back and you said youd do it but you never did hahah
Great job man and great song pick just great everything
Oh yeah I remember that. I'll have to do that for my next one then. I've been getting an unusual amount of requests for some all that remains videos, so I'll try to do something by them as well
I used the Wave C1 comp to compress the snare a little bit, and then a little bit of EQ to roll off at 130hz and a boost at 4 k
really like some of the fills you changed. makes it cool to compare.
@tteksarbttam I am using the Iron Cobra Power Glide Double Pedal. Thing is friggin' bulletproof...I've been using the same pedal for almost 8 years now
When I play live I use the Alesis DM5 module with the Ddrum kick trigger (not the red shot)
when the camera shook it made it look more brutal haha =D dude you are really good keep it up
Damn bro, you killed it! You are a god. No doubt about it.
It's a cheapo 14" wuhan china cymbal that I picked up for 20 bucks at my local drum shop. Triggers can be fairly pricey. thanks a lot for the comment. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Your feet work is pretty insane in this!
glad you enjoyed the video and my kit. Took a bit to tune all the drums to taste, but I think it worked out fairly well
Thanks alot, I do appreciate it. I'm almost done with finals so I'll have another couple videos coming soon
That's a very tricky bass line. Five stars. Good job!
I agree, there is ONE issue at the 0:30 mark, where his kicks are off the pattern, but that's the only spot i noticed. This is a really hard song to play. this is badass. dont let others bring you down. keep up the good work mang.=)
Shoot, you can get one from Musician's Friend. I got mine from a local drum shop in Nashville, but none of the shops in AZ carry them! At least, not the ones I've been to.
Haha I'm learning that song right now acutally. I'll see if I can't spare some time in the coming weeks to put up a recording of it
the end was the best, after you twirled the stick you were gonna hit something but then was like puh-chow! to the camera
sick cover it wuz on point and i love born of osiris especailly this song nice kit 2
It takes a bit of tuning (dropping both resonant and batter head pretty low), plus those metal kick pads made by Danmar. They're great for recording
Working on some right now. I'd like to cover an autopsy or Horizons of Chaos 2
dude soooo damn sick ! wow and ill have to agree with you on the cam moving
your mics are awesome. l like your style. you look very natural when playing
Great cover man!
Also, I love your china.
who's hi-hats? The ones I'm using in the video, or somebody else;s?
you did a great job on this!
i second that. seen them twice live and they are really good. they are a very technical band so its really kinda ard to get EVERY thing he plays but fun
I've been thinking about also covering Prequel to the Sequel by Between the Buried and Me. I really like that song, and it's a blast to play
@actionjackson1001 Yeah it is. It's their 14" version. I've recently replaced the Wuhan for a Sabian AAX 16" Ozone Crash. It's an awesome cymbal
@bLaCkShEeP645
What people don't seem to realize is the drums are all MIDI quantized on the the album, so being slightly off time is to be expected.
the only thing i would question is the Presonus interface, because everyone at my school cringes at the mere mentioning of them, but you seem to know how to use it pretty good.
Good shit dude.

Sounds beautiful.
Sweet thanks glad you liked it!
Yeah I know. I owe that in thanks to my video editor. It kept time locking my video and audio at different parts in time
cha cha cha cha cha cha cha! gatta love that chia
what is the name of that mini china you have there
@CMW345 It's a Wuhan Lion 14" China cymbal. Costs about 25 bucks from a local music store, or musician's friend, if you've not got a store near by
awesome and i have to say that the camera shaking actually made a lot more intense lol
I've got a first gen vintage red Tama Rockstar kit. I'm pretty sure the wood's phillipine mahogany. Oh, and thanks everyone for the comments so far!
I've never actually listened to any of that. I'll have to check it out and see what I can do
you did a great job dude. you should cover more of BOO's songs. You should try Rosecrance or Brace Legs. All their songs are so good.
ahh can someone explain the composition of the weird beat at 0:41 .? its so hard to figure it out.
@vanderpol9 The sound of his ride and the china in the mp3 of the song at that exact same time collided together, lol.
AWESOME BREAKDOWN
wow
Great job man well done!
omg so perfect sound
@deathcore595 It's a 14" Wuhan China cymbal. They run about 20-25 bucks at a local drum shop, or you can order one from musician's friend if you need to
This is the best cover i can find of this song how long did it take you to learn?
Naw I've not gotten the chance to try those. I do hear good things about the Pearl pedals, I just haven't gotten around to using them. Plus, I'm a bit of a Tama lover, so their brand of pedals / drums / equipment is my first choice when I need to buy new stuff
what type of crash is that, i like the sound
thanx alot man so what made you decide you want a 7 piece???
@Fuhgawz102 Thanks, I appreciate it!
whoa, thats awesome man!
favorite! :DDD
Pretty pro job there man. Props. BOO is tough to cover.
Yo! the time signature throughout the song is mainly 4/4, but at this point i think it changes, for the certain 'fill' but then it goes back to 4/4..
sorry i didn't explain that very well.. hope it helps :D
Indeed it is. Check out my new video that'll be up in a few hours where I kinda tour through my studio and explain my gear. I've got a new cymbal to replace the wuhan
i have one myself. really good
woow, your a really great drummer. how long did it take you to learn this? probly took me about 2 days to get the off-beat down correctly :p

ur drum set is amazing ur sound is amazing ur amazing now who did u steal the camera from haha jk 10/10 bro i love this song can you do sum chelsea grin whitechapel and suicide silence stuff
I personally like how my camera swayed while I was filming. It makes everything so much more intense haha
@zero252525 Yeah some of his cymbal work is a little different, but I do like to change some things up a bit in my covers so they're a little more original, if that makes sense
great cover!!!
how do you make your basses sound like that?
So dear sir, What ARE your rates?
dude you fucking killed it im not a drummer but i can definitely appreciate how difficult this songs beat is to keep up with i made the drum beat for open arms to damnation on garage band and that took forever to get the 1st few seconds sounding like the song cause of the rhythm
Haha I love you all. Thanks for the comments everyone, I do appreciate them!
hey my name is brandon i need some addvice on how to play the it seem that i know how to play it in my head but i get nevice can u send me some addvice

@wudgeypudger The china used in this video (and all previous videos) was a cheap Wuhan Lion 14" china. You can pick one up online for 20 - 40 bucks.
