Well, I don't have too much to say about this run, but from Sakuya's last spell card and up was pure luck. Also, I love this game way too much. I guess the only three other people who have also accomplished this was GTR, AAA, and Cute (all on gensokyo.org). On top of that, they each did it with a different shot type, which makes this run a one-of-a-kind. If you are interested, here is a video of a NDNB extra stage clear:

@@Poyodinary_Magician well the hardest part for me in eosd is still patchy and remilia, sakuya's time stop made the rng a bit less since u can think a little bit but the midboss sakuya at stage 6 was just hell
@@ZackLikesBreadAlot it’s alright, I found 3-6 harder. But using the practice mode I was able to do them way more consecutively. Focus on learning the patterns and where to go. Memorization helps out a ton.

Very much appreciate having this. For some reason I'm having a really hard time finding decent gameplay videos on this site.
The thing that grabs me about danmaku is that simply slogging to the end isn't hard (I did a Level 999 all-stages run on DeathSmiles... burned through about 40 continues, but I did it!), but accomplishing anything meaningful takes dedication. A Normal perfect is perfectly manageable, IF you commit patterns to memory, IF you put yourself in the right place at the right time, IF you stay cool as a cucumber, IF you know where your enemy is at all times, and, most importantly, IF you never, ever screw up. That's a lot of hurdles to overcome, especially in the longer battles.
So yeah, good on this, a most entertaining watch. That's all I really got.

what have i learned in watching this? its much more effective in battles to stay up close to the bosses. great! far easier said than done
after countless tries, I was finally able to 1CC normal. I was about to die and I ran out of bombs, so it was a miracle that I managed to get the good ending.
I can play normal without dying... But on stage 4 onwards im dead T_T

What makes later stage spellcards REALLY hard is when you're doing a good run, the rank system (which not everyone knows is in EoSD) causes later stages to have the bullet patterns become insane. It doesn't affect the early stages much since it takes time for the rank to increase towards the max cap, but by Sakuya it could be insanely hard (not really bombing or dieing at all) or noticeably manageable (if you died quite a bit before her or bombed a lot).

16:16 after beating Sakuya I always get those enemies that shoot bullets (mostly red-colored) in an almost random pattern, why didn't those appear in the video?
This is because I prolonged her non-spell attack for extra graze. If you take out Sakuya as fast as you can, then you face a longer period of that red bullet spam you're talking about. I don't know why the game does this, but I imagine it's so it takes the same amount of time to get through the stage regardless of how the mid-boss fight goes.

Touhou 6's Bosses in a nutshell...
1. *Rumia:* A T-Posing Youkai girl who shields herself in a shroud of darkness and loves to say "Is that so~?"
2. *Cirno:* The strongest fairy who ever lived, an icy character sometimes associated with the number 9.
3. *Hong Meiling:* A "normal person" who is actually a Youkai guarding a conspicuous mansion.
4. *Patchouli Knowledge:* A petite girl who is inconceivably smart, and runs a library with no light.
5. *Sakuya Izayoi:* A badass knife-wielding time-screwing maid who looks like she wears pads, but is actually pretty well-endowed.
Final: *Remilia Scarlet:* The elegant mistress of the Scarlet Mansion, referred to by some as the 'Scarlet Devil.'
Extra: *Flandre Scarlet:* The mentally unstable sister of the Scarlet Devil, who is terrifyingly powerful.
The most insane part about this is that you used ReimuA, arguably the worst shot in the game, yet you still got a perfect. I commend you sir/madam.
The worst? I suck at this game and I make considerably more progress on 1cc when I use ReimuA.

@@dakingofyeet4541 The thing with EoSD is that it's one of the few touhou games where all shots are balanced (which isn't all that surprising seeing as how there's only 4 of them lol) While I still stand by the fact that ReimuA is "the worst", that's not to say that she is bad, she just has the lowest dps out of the 4 shots.

@@BabySonicGT ReimuA is perfectly fine for a beginner playing on Easy or Normal. When I said, "the worst" I just mean it has the lowest dps, which you shouldn't worry about since you just started playing
YES. It took me forever to realize she shot her bullets in straight lines, and even then, I would never stand in the right place.
I feel the same way. I owe it to luck for that Marionette capture ;)
And, for some reason, another card that has always given me a hard time is Scarlet Netherworld.
Dat feeling when you try to abuse Sakuya's (first) safe spot... and Sakuya rammed into you... and your Reimu goes Mukyuu~
Btw I don't think Marisa can abuse that safe spot and deplete Sakuya's HP on time...
At least that was my impression when I tried playing Marisa B coz ppl said it's the easiest character to 1cc...

Install virtual midi synth its gud
I don't understand how you capture Marionette and luna dial. Do you have any route or is it just about micrododging your way through ?
Hmm... this comment is (way more than?) 1 year old... I doubt my answer is worth it considering the probabilities of you already learnt how to or quit... but whatevs... I think I'll post it:
For Luna Clock: Go to the edge. It's much easier to learn that way. Captured it twice since I learnt how to dodge it after moving to the edge. Weirdly enough, I find this easier than Icicle Fall (Normal) that I always bomb through.
For Marionette... I dunno... weird... I always wonder how ppl dodge that and its hard/lunatic counterpart Killing Doll...
It's much easier if you somehow misdirect it I think... but I haven't been able to capture it since I first re-play this game again after seven long years...
P.S.: The video did what I said above :P; meaning you still had problems after doing so... I guess this comment really is useless...

does pattern change depending on the character you're using? When I was playing Marisa B first the patterns is much easier but I always die because due to speed problem (Accidentally hitting bullets). then the pattern changed when I was playing Reimu B since I only die occasionally. I get a different attack from Patchouli. I sometimes get the Fire thing and sometimes not but nwo I always get the laser thing. can somebody explain this to me please...
Yes, the spells you face on stage 4 depend on the character you're using.
How did you got so ridiculously high scores here? You managed to get 40 million in stage 3, yet I had difficulties getting to 20 million at this point!

By moving into the Point of Collection (PoC), as far as I know, 1/3 of the upper screen is known as the PoC. Firstly you need to have at least 128 Power and then you can move into this boundary on the upper screen anytime to collect all the blue items on the screen automatically as well as the red ones. You can see this being performed at 5:28.
So the others have been perfected? Do you know where I could find the replays?
(Also EoSD isn't the oldest game...)

You may or may not reply but I really gotta know: how exactly do you get those Bombs and Lives? It just pops up when you hear that 'sound'.
You gain lives two ways in this game:
1. As an item after the stage 3 and 5 midboss fight.
2. After reaching 10, 20, 40, and 60 million points.
Bombs are gained:
1. As an item from various stages.
2. After each death, the bombs are restocked to the default amount.

and also those green-shooting books just right before the 4th midboss...
I always use my continues on Normal when fighting Patchouli because of them...
the books before midboss only last a few seconds. Just sneak (hold shift) and focus on micromovements to dodge the few bullets that might be coming your way. Once 4th midboss comes the bullets disappear in an instant. Rainbow wind chime is static. You might have trouble doing it the first few times, I had trouble too, but with Meiling's attack pattern always being the same, and only being stage 3 boss, you'll get used to the pattern and dodge accordingly, fairly easy.

I think you are talking about the point of collection (POC). Once you have received at least 128 power items (filling your power bar), you can then auto-collect all the items on the screen at any time by moving your player near the top quarter of the screen.
+maulerfranco666 Fortunately you don't need to be at Full Power to POC, since TH7's Extra and Phantasm Stages and TH8 (but you need to be in focus mode, except as Marisa and Alice).

It was 4 months ago, I had just started playing. Now I've 1ccd EoSD and PCB in Normal. But the Extra Stages are VERY hard.

Wow. Just... wow. Am I the only the one who found Marionette normal mode harder to capture than most, if not all, hard mode spells?
probably due to the random nature of the green knives. Often times I deal with sakuya's last spell by bomb spamming, as usually I only need 1 or 2 bombs rather than risking a life trying to capture it.

Because the bullets are aimed at you, you stay still and wait until all the bullets have been fired and then move to the left or right. Do this for all three waves. This maneuver is what we call steaming. It is something you absolutely must know in order to achieve a 1CC.

Isn't that obvious? And my point is that too many people treat the PC-98 games as if they don't exist. Granted, I'm not sure if HRtP and PoDD are even possible to perfect...

When you beat sakuya as fast as you can you get the spamming bullet part
To skip this part you have to extend the fights (the best way is to copy his movements)
