    The fact that you burned the hide so other critters wouldn't get a face full of quills William says how good of a person you are . of course we knew that already 😊 thanks for sharing another great video !

    I have killed and ate a few when I was young. Did it somewhat like you did and risked getting poked with quills. It was only sometime later that I learned the local natives build a fire right away after killing one, then roll the critter in the coals burning off the quills and hair, scrape down with the knife and then gut and clean as usual. I need to try that.

    Phew, what a great day you had!
    Curious, the only time I've ever seen snow shoes like that is on another NFLD channel. They look very light and easy to use, convenient to take along when you're not sure if you're gonna need them, but aren't they to flexible and soft?

      I find some piece very similar to turkey necks. Depending on the area and type of feed the flavor vary a bit in different places and time of year..

    What does porcupine taste like?

    • @Biglandtrapper
      @Biglandtrapper  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on what they are eating and this depends on where he was harvested and time of year. In winter they change their feed after the snow comes covering the food available on the ground. Me I find especially the back bone pieces very similar to turkey necks.. Sometimes find them similar to flavor as pork..
