As a Spurs fan, this was such a weird season for us. Roger Mason forever one of my fav role players, but on a team with Tim, Manu and Tony...Roger Mason was our closer lmaooo. Just goes to show the unselfishness of Pop's system and how heavy his hand was in the running of the team.
The Spurs were pretty bad this season which was even made worse with Manu being injured a lot of that season including the playoffs. George Hill looked like our future franchise at the time before they traded him for Kawhi. A guy like Mason would have been great in the Belinelli/Mills/Kerr role but you’re right this was a weird season because they made him their closer and 4th option lol. I remember Mason having a hot start to the year too.
This was also the same year when Parker scored 55points and 10assists. The spurs were mostly a terrible team. They had an aging Bowen, Finley, Brent Barry... they were a shell of their championship years, up until 2011 or 2012, when they got Green, Neal, Kawhi and got themselves back into contention.
I saw that Spurs and phoenix game on christmas day... and damn that was before the lakers and boston game. Amazing games on that christmas day... Merry Christmas again everyone lmao.
This guy was the reason the Spurs didn't go UNDER 50 wins that season, and kept the Spurs' win streak going that season for a number of reasons -- Duncan was looking slower each passing game. Ginobili was injured and Tony was by himself and an aging roster.
well it would seem. when it comes to playoff time, let see if he gets it done. fan or not, you gotta admit, robert horry was CLUTCH. but who knows, roger mason certainly is proving his worth
I'm attacking the Mavs. They always choke. 2011 was the exception because Lebrick decided to pull off his greatest Dirk impression. Congrats on your one championship. You'll still be the 3rd best team in the state of Texas.
Tim is still great, Manu is... still somewhat amazing, Tony is a freaking BEAST. Mason, Hill, and Gooden are good additions to the team. Bonner is okay and Finley is still good. GO SPURS GO
Oh nevermind, I thought you meant Ray Allen. No, Pierce could have helped I guess but it wasn't his defensive assignment and watching this game live just about everyone, I know I did, expected Mason to give the ball up to Ginobili in the middle of the floor and have them work something out. So when he made that hard dribble and came up firing it surprised just about everyone, even Ginobili looked like he expected to get the ball.
You think the Spurs are old? The Lakers are ancient compared to us. Nash cannot guard Parker much less Westbrook. Who knows how Dwight's back is gonna hold up, and will Kobe be able to reign in his shooting? OKC is still the favorite in the West. The Spurs were 1 James Harden 3-ball away from the Finals. This year we will get more team chemistry. I see Kawhi emerging as a borderline all-star. Call me crazy, but the favorite for a title is MIA,OKC,SA,LA. We should be going all-in this year.
Kobe never does that never! LOL, look at Derek Fisher's reaction toward the call. He knew he fouled him at 1:09-1:10, and he didn't even complain that to the refs!
No they didn't. It was a three-point play because the referees called a foul on Fisher (I personally thought it was a dubious call, but what the hell) as Mason elevated for the jumper, thus giving the Spurs a one-point lead. Even NBA referees wouldn't miss something as obvious as that. ;)
yall can hate san antonio all yall want but they gonna win the ship this year hands down. the akers dont have the depth on their bench to compete with the spurs now. unless odom come back but it looks like he isnt going to so look for more buzzers by mason this year and especially in the finals
Well he's bitching 'cause Duncan set a real good screen and no one came up to keep Mason from getting a wide open look at the shot. The guy covering Duncan, presumably Perkins, should've been up helping Pierce on the high ball screen. You can say that Paul Pierce should have fought over the screen but he was justified in being upset, it was a good solid screen by Duncan.
No he didn't anyone with eyes could see fisher didn't touch him. fisher actually trys to get away from mason when he takes the shot but the refs saved his life right there.
had a few classes with roger at UVA, super nice guy. glad to see he had some success in the NBA.
That’s crazy

08-11 was just bad in general. Then the grizzlies swept us that year Manu hurt his arm ..
@@migol1984 Somehow they still ended up being the 3rd seed even though Dallas beat us in the 1st rd lol
He had a knack for coming up in big spots that year
i have watched this game live it was so amazing!
I saw that Spurs and phoenix game on christmas day... and damn that was before the lakers and boston game. Amazing games on that christmas day...
Merry Christmas again everyone lmao.
As a spurs fan i miss Mason. but ever since he left spurs he hadn't played that well again
What a clutch player
he's so good in clutch situation...
Perfect Form
Mason is blessed w/ gamewinners
We need him to step up big time this season
he's clutch and UNDERRATED!
W00t. San Antonio is my home team, and Mason is great!
Roger Mason was the best player of Olympiakos the season 2004/2005. perfect player with amazing shoot and technic
I remember the one he made against the Suns. Haha
great addition to the spurs

lol i enjoyed reading your well-thought out answers
When you come to San Antonio, you become clutch.
wow, hes clutch
This guy was the reason the Spurs didn't go UNDER 50 wins that season, and kept the Spurs' win streak going that season for a number of reasons -- Duncan was looking slower each passing game. Ginobili was injured and Tony was by himself and an aging roster.
Duncan slower ??!! 😂😂😂and than the spurs proceeded to win the 2014 nba championship lol
reminds me of chauncey billups, he is sooo clutch and reliable at the last second
well it would seem. when it comes to playoff time, let see if he gets it done. fan or not, you gotta admit, robert horry was CLUTCH. but who knows, roger mason certainly is proving his worth
Spurs baby.
I'm attacking the Mavs. They always choke. 2011 was the exception because Lebrick decided to pull off his greatest Dirk impression. Congrats on your one championship. You'll still be the 3rd best team in the state of Texas.
Great ROGER MASON

Someone needs to make one of these for Roy.
yeah that's definitely true
Go Knicks 2010-11
Coming off the bench for the Knicks. watch out
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see this video.
The Phoenix one was totally clutch, what an adrenaline rush... Just watching it...
A pretty clutch shooter he is
Oh the Phoenix one... Lmao
Tim is still great, Manu is... still somewhat amazing, Tony is a freaking BEAST.
Mason, Hill, and Gooden are good additions to the team.
Bonner is okay and Finley is still good.
GO SPURS GO
Damn, he's got some guts with guys like Tony Parker and Ginobli on his team.
a younger and better Robert horry......period.
i gotta admit, don't like him that much, but he's really good at those clutch situations. i wouldn't want to face san antonio when it's a close game.
Big Shot Bob II
he was so good that season, wtf happened to him?
Oh nevermind, I thought you meant Ray Allen. No, Pierce could have helped I guess but it wasn't his defensive assignment and watching this game live just about everyone, I know I did, expected Mason to give the ball up to Ginobili in the middle of the floor and have them work something out. Mason unfortunately was a one hit wonder i was really hoping he could get it together last season. Best of luck to the Knicks!
C'mon guys. Give the Spurs the respect they deserved. Horry is gone and Bowen doesn't play major minutes anymore.
Roger Mason - The Razor II. He cuts your heart open, every time.
Kobe never does that never!
LOL, look at Derek Fisher's reaction toward the call. He knew he fouled him at 1:09-1:10, and he didn't even complain that to the refs!
they should have a game-winning shots for B Roy
@bmanley620 what do u mean? He signed with ny?? When and for how long?
he gets mad lift on his jump shot.
fishers foul wasnt a bad foul it was just mason sold it excellently
Robert Horry out.......Roger Mason Jr. in.....Spurs never miss a beat......
With a little more work Roger Mason could one day be better than Anthony Mason, and perhaps even George Mason, the entire school.
No they didn't. It was a three-point play because the referees called a foul on Fisher (I personally thought it was a dubious call, but what the hell) as Mason elevated for the jumper, thus giving the Spurs a one-point lead. Even NBA referees wouldn't miss something as obvious as that. ;)
yea my bad i was thinkin bout another game
yall can hate san antonio all yall want but they gonna win the ship this year hands down. the akers dont have the depth on their bench to compete with the spurs now. unless odom come back but it looks like he isnt going to so look for more buzzers by mason this year and especially in the finals
I hate the spurs but roger he is clutch when it comes 2 3 pointers....
goooo rogerrrrrr thats my niggaa maannn
mase the ny knick!
I have the game recorded. Mason had the last shot. I win :)
welcome to the new york knickberbockers
DB0175 u are my best friend!
With Richard Jefferson and Dejuan Blair this year I would hate to be a laker fan....
if only mason could do that last season...
lol pause at :48 when the spurs are celebrating that guy on the sideline is giving them the " fuck you " Finger !
this is the first time i saw him,who is he? does he come in only to shoot for the win?
@yomamaschickenleg They're both great, obviously horry was better, but mason still has a career to finish
nice one
@dubspoon he just signed today. 1 year deal worth 1.4 mill
washington should have never traded him. look at the wizards now, and look at mason now.
I hate the Spurs, but I was laughing hard when Mason beat the Suns with that 3-pointer.
sPURS N lAKERS pLAY tommorow for the first time since mason hit that game winning shot.. its gonna be good
wizards are regretting him now
How come?
lol. rob always gets his game winners spotting up, off a pass, whereas mason creates his own more often, but to me hes the new Robert horry
his foot was on the line when he shot against the lakers.
who was Paul Pierce guarding or at least "trying" to guard????
SPURS all day its kind of funny how the wizards would release him and now he's makin theese shots lol
Remember rookie DeJuan Blair
3 game winners and he is only a rookie. wow.
welcome to the KNICKS
Well he's bitching 'cause Duncan set a real good screen and no one came up to keep Mason from getting a wide open look at the shot. The guy covering Duncan, presumably Perkins, should've been up helping Pierce on the high ball screen. You can say that Paul Pierce should have fought over the screen but he was justified in being upset, it was a good solid screen by Duncan.
haha i watched the one against the suns on christmas day
i was not expecting a 3
people are like
"WHERE does san antonio find these guys.."
Haha if had missed that shot in Boston Pop would have freaked out.
Mason should go to Dallas he'd fit right at home with people who choke in the playoffs
Hey, watch out.
0:47 look to the right hes flicking off the spurs.
Roger Mason jr. more like Michael Jordan Jr.
No he didn't anyone with eyes could see fisher didn't touch him. fisher actually trys to get away from mason when he takes the shot but the refs saved his life right there.
We couldnt afford him if we wanted to keep Nick Young who is a better player and is much younger
he looks like a young kobe
um hes not a rookie this is his 4th year in the nba
dream on
yes i found some spurs fan
hence the term
"game winning shot"
