the best parts are Russian airliners lowpasts. It was realy rare moments to seen flyable Tu134 anymore. Tu154 was amazing and "reverse in the air" of IL62 was very impressive. Enginer roars of IL76 likes a symphony of russian engineering. Those planes counts decreasing day by day and we shouldn't be get chance to see them soon.

@@samuelrs5138 Wrong. The engines don't "spin backwards". The turbine operates the same way as it does in flight. Reverse thrust is when the thrust is redirected (usually more sideways than towards the front of the engine). Hence you'll see the clamshell-like scoops on the rear of engines in older jets unfold. In most airliners, you'll see the cowling slide back, and a whole bunch of square-lookin' holes. Same concept.

I enjoyed your video very much. The Il-62M that was flying in the air show was my 1st North Korean airliner I ever saw back in August 1992. I had a city break holiday in Berlin & popped over to SXF [ East Berlin's Schonefeld Airport].
Great to see P-885 in such good nick. According to a Russian website it was delivered to North Korea from the factory in June 1979 as '885' & first noted by Western plane spotters at SXF [E Berlin] on 12/8/79. It was later registered P-885 sometime before April 1987 when 1st noted as such at Paris Orly airport.
It appears the North Korean's have only had 5 Il-62's [ 1 crashed '889' in 1983 ] with 2 in airline service [P-885 & P-881 ] & 2 on VIP duties [ P-618 & P-882 ] including the CHAMMAE 1 all white VIP model that's been seen a lot on TV including on the 9/2/18 visit to Seoul for the Winter Olympics/N-S negotiations.
If anyone knows more on this or about which aircraft is the CHAMMAE 1 VIP a/c then please make a comment - on TV & in photo's it seems to display no registration.
The time I saw it in 1992 I'd checked the SXF airport airline schedules from the printed OAG travel agent's guide [no web then] & North Korean even 2.5 yrs after the end of the Berlin Wall still had a scheduled flight to SXF once a week. Loads of people told me it wasn't regular but very much an ad-hoc visitor, if at all - a "phantom" schedule. I turned up & sat on the SXF viewing terrace, not much to see at all apart from an ex Interflug IL-18 by new cargo airline Berline.
Past Korean scheduled arrival time [ up to March 1992 they had been called CAAK & only just changed to Air Koryo ] - the SXF arrivals board still had flight on it, I asked at the information desk but they had no idea, like its up there every week but it doesn't show up very often. I went back to the viewing terrace, finally it was about 90 mins over scheduled arrival time & I had to get back to my wife who'd let me off on a plane spotting visit for the afternoon & was probably thinking I'd be late. I thought well that's it just a "phantom" schedule & was literally turning to leave the terrace & airport when I spotted a smokey trail to my left & an Il-62 on approach to SXF r/w 25R.
Wow ! P-885 touched down in front of me & whistled out of sight down the runway. I nervously waited to hopefully see it backtrack to the terminal, rather than go & park out of sight, & after c 6-7 minutes of nervously holding my camera gear & binoculars it appeared taxing to the Terminal. A stack of local Germans who probably didn't know it was a fairly rare visitor wandered casually over to view it, probably thinking why is that guy clicking away like mad with his camera taking a load of photo's. Anyhow P-885 nosed in to the Terminal & ended up facing me I had a good view from c 25m away & on a higher elevation. So gamble paid off. I'm uncertain when Air Koryo ended that scheduled flight - I believe it was shortly after or by 1994, they also shut down flights to Prague & Sofia which I think were even more ad-hoc than Berlin. Then the closest place in Europe to view a "scheduled" Air Koryo IL-62 flight was Moscow.

The MIG 21 is known for being notoriously difficult to land. They land very fast, due to the wing design. Most that land them say you have to flare them at an exact right time or one of two things happens...you hit the runway hard, or you stall nose high and again...hit the runway hard. It's an old ass airplane that was built to be fast in the sky, not good on landing. Hope they didn't execute the pilot for it.

I would seriously like to know how they got those Hughes MD500's (4:07 - 4:41). That is an American aircraft, and as such it is illegal to sell them to DPRK. Also I feel so sorry for all the folks in the audience (4:15 - 4:28) who didn't notice that the camera was on them, thus weren't waving and clapping like crazy. We all know what happens to folks in NK who don't show the proper amount of enthusiasm/awe & wonder/grief/whatever emotion is called for by the State.

Even though the DPRK acquired the Little Birds through sneaky means, I would not put too much stalk in their having them. After all, I only saw four (4) of them, they were surreptitiously acquired in 1985, probably get very little air time, and pose no threat to South Korea or the United States whatsoever. At least it verified what was always suspected, but never proven, that the DPRK actually has those helicopters.
